  1. Who said you couldn't relax ? I certainly didn't mean to stress you out My opinions are an honest assessment of the comic hobby and the economics of things as they relate to Amazing Fantasy 15 being over priced That's all Your arguments for AF 15 being over priced are almost entirely based upon the supply side, arguing that the book is not that rare. Truth is, the stock is fixed an has been since publication. Price is now and really always has been almost entirely demand driven. I believe demand will continue to increase. That is a valid argument and certainly is the nub of our disagreement I think demand will fall. Not because the book isn't an important and cool book. I love Amazing Fantasy 15 and still have my copies. I just believe that the economy is gonna seriously stall and I question whether due to its commonness, whether it will be a good store of value I just think prices will come down I certainly don't think they will be going up from here And the idea of a permanent plateau is unlikely

  3. That's cool No problems here with that Just gonna disagree with you on the other 50%. Specifically, the part about closing your eyes to the rest of the world. I don't think that's a viable strategy.
  4. Not to be snide but you do realize that your appeal to authority argument is a big part of the problem Too many experts nowadays Just saying that I do know a thing or two. So what, I'm not allowed to chile in on your thread becuase I disagree with you? We will all be laughing about Brexit in 6 months. And the AF 15 prices will keep climbing. Absolutely feel free to post your opinion This isn't my thread I just started it
  5. Geez, is this your life ? I feel bad for you now My wife is sweet My kids are independent And I am a successful businessman Don't know why you felt the need to attack me personally ?

  7. You have a talent for having me voraciously agree with 50% of what you write but vehemently disagreeing with the other 50%
  8. I am marking this post and coming back in a few years to take my victory lap The world will be in absolute pain though so it really won't be much of a victory Hulk1962 can stick his head in the sand I am AWAKE During the last recession in 2009-2010, it was a great time to buy AF15's. If there is a decline on AF15's during the next recession...it will be a mild pullback and will create a great buying opportunity. The amazing fantasy 15 is not rare. I love the book too and the character but if you like Spiderman, go buy some Ditko or ROmita Original art. It's a better investment due to supply constraints. The amazing fantasy 15 is common
  9. I am marking this post and coming back in a few years to take my victory lap The works will be in absolute pain though so it really won't be much of a victory Hulk1962 can stick his head in the sand I am AWAKE Peter you may be right but the downswing will be followed by upswings. Most collectibles are cyclic. Look at BB cards. I had a PSA 7.5 Aaron RC I purchased 2 years ago for 3k. Dumped it for 3k a few months months later (lost interest). Now it's work 10 to 15k easily. Cards are on fire again. My college Mythology (yeah took it as an elective course) said something I'll always remember. The world goes in cycles...bell bottom jeans, long hair, etc. This is gonna be a secular bear market. You are confusing this as a cyclical bear market. This one is for the ages.

  11. I sold my comic collection long ago. But kept my amazing fantasy 15s. That said, my above theories are legitimate. Why make a big deal out of this enjoy the books and stop worrying about all the stupid world events....don't you know by now it is a huge manipulation by the so called elite....they will not let the world fall otherwise they would lose all their slaves that they worked for 1000's of years to put them in line. They just want to keep them all in check....so most do not progress. I absolutely agree with half of what you wrote The other half I vehemently disagree The elite may be in control over the long haul but the short term I have my severe doubts I knew Brexit would succeed And I know this planet is in for a world of hurt soon The elites don't give a wit about u or me And amazing fantasy 15 is over valued when the economy tanks I will exit stage left now
  12. When a book sells for between 6-7 figures , it would be foolish to not account for business into the equation Hobby !!!

  14. The point I am trying to hi light is the supply side of certain books. I love amazing fantasy 15 But it's not rare It's not action 1 or detective 27 And selling begets more selling in a down turn
  15. Ummm... you do remember 7-8 years ago, don't you? Recession, bear market, record foreclosures, people out of work for extended periods of time, etc? Actually isn't that right around the time when AF 15 took off and made a big jump? Yup, I'm totally onboard with your logic that Brexit will cause the demise of the comic market and this book in particular. Again - u know the difference between a cyclical bear market and a secular bear market ? Geez guys
  16. That was a cyclical bear market not a secular bear market
  17. Amazing fantasy 15 in cgc 7.5 goes from $7500 to $75,000 in 15 years But when this global economy resets (and it will) based on true real disposable income.... I dunno about this book maintaining its value in the medium term I don't think the comic book market has seen a secular bear market ever. Silver and golden age books have been steadily marching only upwards since fandom began. Amazing fantasy 15 is such just 1 example. There are so many copies out there. The demand is there today but it's not a rare comic book by any stretch Some people will sell out of necessity if the economy turns. And it's not Action 1 or Detective 27- which truly are rare Remember price is set on the margin !!! ----> Double entendre and pun not intended
  18. Are these able to be listened to on a mobile device ? Having a hard time downloading
  19. I couldn't estimate what price an original Ditko Spidey cover would fetch, especially one from the first 10 issues, but it would have to be astronomical. I'm not an OA guy, but has one ever sold before from that time period? The number 11, 15, 28, 30 are the ones I know of that sold but that was long ago when prices were cheaper The 8 was for sale for 250k in 2004 250k and that was 12 years ago Well, in fairness it never sold That was just the sellers asking price But I reckon its a $750k cover today maybe - if it wasnt destroyed in a fire - which it was in 2010

  21. Always loved ASM 2cover Wish I could own the OA to this cover Reckon it would be expensive though
  22. What grade is your personal copy if you don't mind me asking? Anyway you can check into that sale of the CGC 7.5 at 110 000$ and confirm it or deny it.....you seem to have all the proper contacts? I remember in 1999, 7.5 copies selling every day on Ebay for $7,500
  23. Speaking from experience, the unfortunate thing about having volume is you are lucky if you can actually sell the stuff for even close to 50% of FMV, probably less. Quality is much preferred over Quantity. Bingo !
  24. Paper profits are not real until the moment of liquidation and the cash is realized and recognized on the books
