  1. I was replying to a list of favorites in another post and got to thinking about this book. I buy roughly 60 to 70 different titles a month so there is a lot of stuff I like. I order all of my comics from Midtown or ebay including lots of these. I patiently wait for all of them to arrive except for this run. I buy these as soon as I'm able in digital form. I truly can't wait to read this book and I hate that it seems to take 5 weeks to put it out but the fact that I read it online and then again in floppy form tells me how great this book is. It could possibly change course and disappoint but I don't think it will. I think this is a long termer with great potential. Its not too late to jump on board. You can still buy the whole run at Midtown for cover or less and if you haven't read it yet.
  2. Number 2 came in at roughly 42,000 sales. In the May listings, East of West 3 is omitted from the list. There is no way it didn't make the top 300. I appreciate you pointing out comichron.com. I use it regularly. I don't understand how the third print of number 1 came in at 296 and number 3 is not on the list. Can anyone help with this ?
  3. Yeah, I see it. Not great. I'm not sure what how much that would effect the grade.
  4. That sounds bad. How are they scarred ? Indentions or color ?
  5. I can't find how many issues of number 3 were printed. Does anyone have a clue ? On a different note, I really liked this issue and the run so far. With the setup at the end of number 3, I have a hunch number 4 could be epic...or not ;-) Here is to hoping.
  6. With a comic shop buying 700 to 1000 copies I would say less speculating doesn't stand a chance
  7. I never saw that This was it, although I never reached out to the guy on account that they were signed: http://www.ebay.com/itm/EAST-OF-WEST-1-SIGNED-SET-OF-5-INCLUDING-STORE-VARIANTS-AND-2ND-PTNG-/230970053653?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item35c6e35415&nma=true&si=i4fEGlJ1UYYbg9yNZWHWohXmik0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 The rest of the RRP's are still m.i.a., I wonder why? I also wonder how this guy already had one so soon? I have a feeling that outta the gate these are gonna be HOT and priced HIGH! I was thinking I should wait out the first wave, but then again, I might end up missing out like with the Saga 1 RRP variant, which I never got. Decisions, decisions... I was willing to go around $100 - $125 and the longer this thing goes, the less chance I can see getting anywhere close to that. That's exactly what I was/am thinking... We'll see what occurs when they finally start popping up, but my guess is that supply won't be able to meet demand initially, and a lot of us will be competing against each other in bidding wars on feebay. Prices will soar on the first few posted copies... I hope they do like the Star Wars sketch 1 and the NWM Orange and Blue covers and come down a month later. I have overpaid to be early in the past and don't want to do it again.
  8. I agree, it would be a lot easier on me and most everybody else if the companies/creators kept it simple. I can't help myself. I buy the 1st, 2nd, 87th prints, FP, Ghost or whatever. On this book, I still think the 1st print is the one to buy and they are somehow still out there. I think the huge number of Jupiter's Legacy will negatively impact at least numbers 1 and 2 even if the story ends up being great, which I hope it is.

  10. That's possible. I still can't get over the fact that there is a 5th print. Maybe they know we are all going to buy every cover that comes out. Wait, there really will be a 5th print? I was just makin' mess up... -slym Sorry Slym. I got ahead of myself again. Well, just proves I'm not perfect. I went back and read it was a 4th print that Hickman mentioned. I need a break. Here is what I last saw; http://www.tfaw.com/Comics/Profile/East-Of-West-1-4th-Printing___429200/ I'm betting on a 5th print but the fact is a 4th not 5th as far as I know.
  11. I'm trying to locate one but I still haven't seen one listed other than the guy who had the 5 signed issues on ebay. I wonder how he managed to get that book ?
  12. It is very handy for sketches and autos.
  13. and now I see the error of my ways. Here is the full FP cover and aaronc, I would agree that I would love to have this in Black and White. http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view;_ylt=A0PDoV47iI9RtQwAR9OJzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTBlMTQ4cGxyBHNlYwNzcgRzbGsDaW1n?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dnick%2Bdragotta%2Bart%2Beast%2Bof%2Bwest%26_adv_prop%3Dimage%26va%3Dnick%2Bdragotta%2Bart%2Beast%2Bof%2Bwest%26fr%3Dchr-hp-psg%26tab%3Dorganic%26ri%3D33&w=400&h=601&imgurl=cdn.pastemagazine.com%2Fwww%2Farticles%2F2013%2F01%2F17%2Feastofwest.jpeg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pastemagazine.com%2Farticles%2F2013%2F01%2F10-most-anticipated-comics-and-graphic-novels-of-2013.html&size=169.6KB&name=Expect+big+things+for+comics+in+2013.+Expect+the+industry+to+dive+further+into+the+disruptive+innovation&p=nick+dragotta+art+east+of+west&oid=465ad21d482b25782b6f097043472695&fr2=&fr=chr-hp-psg&tt=Expect+big+things+for+comics+in+2013.+Expect+the+industry+to+dive+further+into+the+disruptive+innovation&b=31∋=144&no=33&ts=&tab=organic&sigr=138q8qrgn&sigb=14vvkcrls&sigi=11t9d204l&.crumb=PrXIat4z/BT&fr=chr-hp-psg
  14. 16. Correct me if I am wrong but the regular cover is the only one without a full picture. All the all variants have full figures. In fact, the Forbidden planet is the only cover with a 'team' picture, which is why I liked it the most. That being said, I am disappointed that there is no black and white version for the regular cover as I think it will look really cool. The Ghost variant is a chopped in half picture. I have seen the original art on one these sites and it was better as a full page IMHO. The FP cover has Death completely orange while his companions and the background are black and white. Maybe it pays tribute to Frank Miller/Sin City with the coloring but I think its a little corny. Oh well, to each their own. Maybe this is why they make so many different covers
  17. Twelve Ways to Die and Revival are the only books I'm purposely hyping the market to increase value. So its not me! nah its me but i only bring it up when someone claims that battle scars 1 or 6 are the first appearances or coulson or fury jr You guys have piqued my interest on both this and Battle Scars. I read that this book is out of continuity and Battle Scars is Marvel 616. Is this correct ? I had not heard of either of these other than on this thread. I think you will hear a lot more about them now that they are making the TV show but who knows ? I have heard a ton of hype on 12 Reasons to Die on every comic site. So I bought a few. Still haven't had a chance to read them but I look forward to them.
  18. It is my second favorite so far. I like the RRP the best because of the full cover art and the picture itself. Um... hate to break it to you, but the RRP does not have full cover art. Sorry. You are correct. My mistake in wording. I meant a full picture instaed of a shadowed face/head. Here is what I'm speaking of http://www.bleedingcool.com/?attachment_id=235067
  19. Ton More awesome Modern Age comics heating up here! I credited CBT and Larry in a thread mentioning people who volunteer valuable info and I should have mentioned you also. I was checking out your list and thought this was interesting. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140972472183&item=140972472183&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466 The last time my name was in a comic, I was getting a priceless no prize Thanks for the info you provide. I use it for comics and my oldest son uses it for MTG info.

  21. +1 They sink like a rock within 6 months. Only completionists want them. Find your Mark and sell. I agree but I wonder why ? I like the Ghost cover better than the regular on East of West and they came out the same day. They also have a smaller print run. Why do prices tank on these ? It seems they would be the better investment on numbers alone.
  22. I'd keep it man. I'm starting to really believe the book has a higher ceiling than we think. What ceiling do you see for these and the regular number ones ? More so regular #1's. I think Ghost and phantom's are all garbage. I can definitely see #1's stabilizing around $125 or so dollars down the line. I think we've seen from Saga that a high print run doesn't necessarily dictate that a book will never be more than $60 bucks. That is a big number but I can see the same thing. I hope it does because I have a few
