  1. 35 East of West 1* $3.50 Image 49,518
  2. Does everybody perceive this to be a good or bad thing ? You can still get the 1st print online for cover at a couple of places. There seems to be faily high supply.
  3. Around PP so.... uh.... yeah around that? How much more rare will this be when compared to the Forbidden Planet or Ghost copies ? I want one for my collection and will pay what they bring but I was hoping for a slightly lower price.
  4. I agree with all of the above.
  5. I don't think any of the shops here got shorted but all sold out by before 1 pm Wednesday. They definitely underestimated word of mouth and demand on this book locally.
  6. Thanks ! Now I have to figure out how to afford one. That is the best looking cover of the bunch in my opinion.
  7. Can anybody tell me what the new cover is in this picture ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/EAST-OF-WEST-1-SIGNED-SET-OF-5-INCLUDING-STORE-VARIANTS-AND-2ND-PTNG-/230970053653?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item35c6e35415
  8. I hope you are right. I bought one because I thought it was the best #1 cover. Green rocks
  9. I think someone got under someone's skin with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/East-of-West-1-CGC-9-8-NM-First-Print-1st-print-Hickman-Dragotta-1st-on-Ebay-/310656283241?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item48548eb269 I wonder what was said ?
  10. wish=command CBT CBT CBT CBT CBT I believe the chart reflects reality. Very nice. On a different note, does anyone have a rough estimate of how close East of West 1 is to being sold out at Midtown, Dynamic Forces, and the other big internet retailers ? They made a 2nd print and it appears most of those are being sold to the big internet retailers also. I also wonder if the majority of you think its good or a bad thing that there are still a lot of these out there. I personally would buy more if not for the limits of 1 or 2 comics per buyer.
  11. I think there are many factors at work in the market in addition to those brought up by CBT in this article which I agree with; http://blog.testbusinessideaonline.com/modern-comic-investment-tips/ I was reading the Motley Fool which usually offers stock advice and I ran across an article on Billmelater and in particular, Ebay . I believe the reason comics and everything else increasing in price while other investments have struggled is clearly listed in this article; http://beta.fool.com/grahamsway/2013/04/22/is-ebay-reliant-on-sub-prime-lending/32078/?source=TheMotleyFool Notice increasing purchases on credit through billmelater through ebay. 2010 $1.4 billion 2011 $2.3 billion 2012 $3.4 billion There is a $1.8 billion increase in debt from 2010 to 2012. If this were 2007 I would bail and bail immediately but this is 2013. People seem to have accepted incresing debt as a non-issue. I have worked around credit for the last 24 years and I can assure you that high risk or subprime loans increased dramatically in the auto industry and other sectors in 2012. You can see the impact on Wall Street stocks, new car sales, ebay sales, home prices and even increased food prices. I have no doubt that 2013 will be better than 2012 due to the fact that credit lines will continue to increase. I can't tell you of anyone in my business who is projecting a weaker 2013 than 2012. Another sign that ebay is confident in their growth chart is the fact that they just increased fees. These and other companies don't increase fees if they think it will decrease total sales profit or total sales share . Ebay like any other publicly owned business is under relentless pressure to increase profits by their shareholders. I've experienced it at companies as I'm sure many of you have also. We don't know for certain that they will add to the credit available/spent in 2013 but there it is certainly tranding that way. Supply is definitely up in 2013 but I would argue that when people are flush with currency, you will see higher demand. I was around in the early to mid nineties. The biggest difference I see now is the trend of the sales. In the early to mid 90s, certain books had sales in the millions and dozens had sales in the 100,000 plus mark. This was going on and people were spending their OWN money. Today, you may have 5 or 6 titles selling over 100,.000 and another 3 dozen selling 50,000 or better and they are being bought with other people's money . There is no flood in my opinion. I think people are using ebays credit line to buy off ebay which is why comics last longer at Midtown and the others. I am short term, meaning the next year or so, bullish on this market. I am especially so on great books like East of West. It is not just my opinion as to the quality of this comic. EVERY site review I have read is not just positive buy extremely positive. Now I bet someone can find some site that didn't like it but I can't find it. I know there will be more than not that think 2012 can't be surpassed by 2013 but I say East of West, Star Wars, Five Ghosts, Helheim, Age of Ultron, Superior Spider-man, Batman/Superman, Superman Unchained, Lazarus, Jupiters Legacy, Infinity, and the list goes on. I hope your collecting makes you happy either way. I try to make enough off speculating to buy more comics so I can read more. A tough cycle ;-)
  12. I agree. I've seen it said in interviews on Bleeding Cool that htis could be the case but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. They must be assuming that 35,000 plus people want 4 covers and a sketch cover each. I think thats stretching.
  13. agree with you on that I need to reread #2 again are the 4hm kids not the same ones as the adults we see in the bar fight in #1 ?.. Cause I thought they were up till now No. The bar fight has Death and his people and the 3 kids are the remaining horsemen. For some reason, Death appears older than the rest which has not to my knowledge been explained.
  14. I just finished reading it. I was hoping for the Authority and got something different, though there is still a little of that style present. I like that a took a while to read. This is not a 4 or 5 minute book. It has lots of detail and is very wordy. I like the overall premise of the book and it seems much more grounded than most Millar stories. Quitely's art is exceptional as always. I will be sticking around for a while regardless of the print run.
  15. Sounds good. I would like to read them anyway. The majority people here seem to like it.
  16. Nice pickups. I saw a bunch of Rachel Rising 6-15 at the shop today . Do you think any of those are worth picking up ?
  17. Read number 2 ( thanks to BizzaroChuck recommending Comixolgy ) and I loved it except..this book needs to come out twice a month. I don't like having to wait a month between issues. Superior Spider-man has spoiled me by not making me wait. That aside, this comic rocks !!
  18. Comixology. You won't even be able to damage it (thumbs u Thanks for that idea. I ordered some from Midtown but the 6 page preview didn't cure my desire to read the whole book and I sure hate to wait a week to read it.
  19. That would make it at least a three week delay. Not great
  20. EoW doesn't get an honorable mention it its own thread I went to the comic shop around 1:00 today. East of West section sold out again. Guy that works there told me over 40 people added this to their pull lists today. He said they should be ready when number 3 hits. Bwahahahaha. Maybe a sledgehammer would cause them to notice this is a really hot title. All 3 comics shops I go to were sold out. I think the naysayers are missing the boat. This is taking longer to filter through because of the quantity originally produced but it still has a very cool story so far and I like the art and coloring. Word of mouth and positive reviews will drive it. I'm staying in for the long haul.
  21. I'm in both ways. I'm a little confused by ebay sales to this point. You can buy number 1 for cover from Midtown, DF, and others yet it was sold out within 30 minutes at the 3 shops here in town. They consistantly average between 6 and 7 dollars on ebay. My only concern is that enough people aren't getting to read it. Nobody that works at any of the shops I frequent got to read the first issue so word of mouth seems to be low. That being said, all numbers of the Sixth Gun had a little over 1400 completed sales on ebay for the last 3 months. East of West has over 720 sales and its only been out three and a half weeks. Word is getting out somewhere, somehow . Any thoughts on this ?
  22. I'm going heavy on the twos. I have never been a second print collector. I can't wait to read this issue.
