  1. I love the dialogue between Babylon and Balloon!

I was hoping his Dad would reach him by the end of the TPB! Hopefully later!

Also enjoyed the smack he laid on that Horseman during his escape!

  2. Hah I was watching that auction, considering adding a 9.6 to my 9.8! One can never have too many.

Congrats on the win! I agree with SimplyRob; Less than half of the price of the current 9.8 going rate!

Love Invincible and Tank Comics! It's one of the only ebay newsletters I actually read!

  3. I assumed he uploaded the wrong picture, since he also had a sketched one for sale. Someone asked and he said no, this was the non-sketched one, but I still assumed it was the wrong picture. He did not specifically say the slab was mislabeled.

It crossed my mind the next day, so I asked Court about it via PM, and he said it was mislabeled. I asked to return it, and he responded that it was too late.

Saturday he provided tracking information, which showed it was picked up Saturday, the day after I requested to return it. Apparently printing a shipping label means it's too late to return it.

  4. Actually, it wasn't clear to me that the slab was mislabeled. I asked Court to return it, but he had already printed a shipping label. I don't feel like sending it to CGC for a fix, so I am looking to unload it.

Court, I'm surprised you would comment about me trying to make a "quick flip" when I asked to return this book because of the mislabel. The book wasn't even picked up until yesterday, so you could have easily allowed me to return it.Some people might not care, but I do, and I was your customer.

This wouldn't have occurred if you mentioned in the sales thread the slab was mislabeled. Yes, someone asked about it, but I assumed you uploaded the wrong picture, because you also had a sketched one, and never specifically call out that it's mislabeled.

I have never bought a slab for the purpose of resale.

  5. I bought mine from a boardie for $365 in the second half of 2014. He had just received it back from CGC.

I was following that auction on the bay and was surprised it went to $488. Maybe the book is experiencing an uptick, or maybe it's tax return season.

I think a 9.8 is worth $360-400, but this tends to be a book you have to pry away from the people that have them.

Overall, I think your offer of $400 is solid on the boards. Good luck in the search!

  6. Who else is excited for Spawn #250 & Spawn Resurrection #1???

    I'm thinking I'm going to need a #250 1:50 B&W McFarlane Variant!

Also the 1:?? Spawn Resurrection B&W McFarlane, retailer exclusive or something like that.

    Excitey. McFarlane Covers all day.

Who can hook me up with these in 9.8? :)

  7. I'm interested to know from more experienced collectors what kind of premium collectors of bronze and older books shell out for white pages?

What percentage of collectors here value white pages?

Does a rare book like cerebus 1 with white pages demand a worthwhile premium or is it similar in price to same grade with lesser PQ?

Personally I'll take a little lower grade with WP over a higher grade with lower PQ. For example I held out for the right TMNT #1 second and third prints with WPs.

  8. That last sale of 600 is why I placed my bid where I did.

This same copy was originally bought off ebay for 300, but I know that was a lucky scenario, so I did place my offer at the higher of the two.

The 2000 sale was for a 9.0 or better slabbed "Artist's Proof," which yes, I would pay over 600 in that scenario.

If I disregard the lucky example and the ultimate example, I think 500-600 is a decent starting point for discussion.

If owners aren't willing to part or discuss at that point, then it is there prerogative. I am a buyer at $500-600 and open to discussions.

  9. just won an auction on ebay and ended up landing max 1 glow in the dark. #1,2,3,4,6 and a gold copy of the wizard mini maxx comic.

anyone know how scared the glow in the dark #1 titles are? i see them on ebay but alot of them are in some condition.

One of my favorite books! Highest grade is 9.8, 19 blue label, and 7 yellow label. I own two of those, both of which were from Mr. Kieths stash.
