  2. Greetings Boardies,

After 4 years on the hunt I have acquired a personal grail via auction on the bay from Canada.

This book has been graded 6.5 with White Pages by a competitor grader.

For academic purposes and posterity, this is at least the second Black #1 Artist Proof (AP) I have seen. The other CGC 9.0 is pictured in this thread. I do not know if these are in addition to the 50 copies, or the first two of 50.

Also for reference, I was offering $600 for one of these graded for 4 years and was contacted by zero interested sellers. I was the soul bidder on this auction, bid $1300, but won for the set/base bid of $999. I don't know if it's worth that, but due to the scarcity of opportunities to buy, I decided to go for it.

I regret selling my #1 Blue, Red, and Yellow! I had given up on finding this one!

I had sort of dropped out of graded book collecting about 2 years ago, but the other weekend I was bored, logged in to the bay, and searched for "Maxx Ashcan," and low and behold, there she was after four years.

The seller, Major Comics, in Montreal said it was the first he had ever had in the shop.

  3. Thanks guys! I really wanted a 7.0-8.0, but this one was so cost effective if you know what I mean and it seemed so nice in grade. Very pleased to join the club after years of sitting on the sidelines!

  4. My first Bronze Age Marvel Key arrived today! I was concerned about what the subscription crease on the back would look like in hand, but it is very faint and I'm really excited about the book! My first Bronze Club!

  5. I decided to take a chance on it! It should be shipping out this morning.

Once I have it in hand I'll take a good scan and report back to gauge how visible/bothersome the crease is on the front.

Fingers crossed I like it as much in person as I do in photos!

  6. Fellas, I have been wanting to join this club for some time now! I think I have found the candidate!

IH 181 CGC Universal 6.0 with White Pages being offered @ 90 day GPA

I paid up for the graders notes and they are as follows:

large crease full center of back cover (I can't even see this in the photo!)

spine stress lines breaks color (Only 2-3 ticks I can see, I don't mind these)

subscription crease whole book breaks color (I don't know what this is)

What do you guys think of the notes? Anything concerning? Safe one to pull the trigger on?

    Thank you for your feedback!
