  1. After a couple of weeks doing research I decided to BIN on a refurbished HP 8300 for $117 shipped.

The seller has 20 more available in case anyone else is looking!

When I receive it I'll install HPs Windows 7 Drivers and/or VueScan and give it a go! I'm also going to try and use that "Extreme Mode" I read about here.

Any tips are appreciated in regards to software!

  2. I believe some 8.5 x 11.7 scanners advertise 8.5 x 14 via the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) ((The tray thing on top)).

So the scanning plate itself is 11.7 long, but you could put a legal size document through the feeder.

So that's cool if you are a paralegal, but it sucks if you want to scan slabs.

  3. I tried for a year and couldn't get one.

At one time I was offering between 500-600 on the WTB forum all cash, and to individuals up to 700-800 slabs plus cash bundles.

At this point I ended up buying other books like Spawn #1 B&W 9.8 and Spider Man #1 Platinum 9.8.

I value those two books more than the Maxx Ashcan and The Maxx is my favorite.

I've given up for now. The people who have them value them more than I do.

  4. Don't be an individual_without_enough_empathy spreads, I meant grails.

I offered a few other people probably half a dozen 9.8s and cash in case they were interested in anything. For example thief of thieves 1 in cgc ss 9.8. I was offering 9.8s and cash.

  5. Crispin and I were talking about the Yellows popping up on the Bay.

Yellow #1 (in the UK) and Yellow #2 graded 9.4 (overpriced x 3)

It's nice to see them pop up though!

Also, a #2 Yellow is 3.33 times more rare than a number one.

In that case I guess it's about right!

I was thinking $300ish for a #1 yellow in nice condition.

I know the Yellow print runs were all 500, but I didn't know the #2s were more scarce.
