    Was the 3.5 SSd?

Or what were the final sales?

    3.5 for $3,000?

    And 7.0 for $1,000?

I can't make the math make sense lol

Was responding to the 3.5 reportedly at a con for 7500, while a 7.0 sold last week on HA sold for 5760: https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/superhero/the-incredible-hulk-181-marvel-1974-cgc-fn-vf-70-off-white-pages/a/122128-13555.s

  2. BIN priced to sell. Always put it up lower than the lowest BIN, and just above the most recent auction prices with a best offer. Normally either sells full ask or get a best offer around the auction price which I accept. The only exception is if someone has a BIN way low, lower than the current going rate. In this case I’ll typically just hit the watch button on the lowball item and wait for it to sell before I list mine, and if it’s truly underpriced it typically sells right away so I don’t have to wait long, also if it sits forever then it tells me the market is shifting and I need to reconsider what I thought was the going rate. That said I don’t sell hundreds of listings, this would likely be tedious if I did and I’d just throw everything into auctions to save on time - but for me I’ll run like 10-15 listings at once so it’s not a big deal for me.

The problem is most of serious collectors/ buyers  knows the MH copy of Action 1 has yet to be graded. So I think the AF 15 which is confirmed the highest graded unless a unknown copy comes out it is the best you can buy. A 9.0 AF15 is not gonna have any effect on the 9.6 market just like a new A1 7.0 would. Look for a world record price and after looking at the scan, this copy is every bit a 9.6...what a great book

I don’t think that’s as much of a problem as you think it is. Even if there’s a copy of Action 1 out there that’s known that may one day come to be graded and may one day come to the market for sale… there’s more AF 15’s unearthed on a yearly basis in high grade than there are Action 1’s, just because you don’t know about them until they are found and graded doesn’t change that reality. So if that’s your concern you should be more concerned about a 9.6 with better page quality or a 9.8 AF15 coming to market than future Action 1’s just based on the numbers. In any case it’s really hard to believe there’s all these people waiting for a raw Action 1 in a private collection to be graded before they pull the trigger on buying any copy.

Just remember, we aren't comparing apples to apples. The record setting AC1 was an 8.5

An AF15 9.6 may take the crown, but only until one of those AC1 9.0s emerges. I still think AC1 is the crown jewel of our hobby.

I just think an AF15 9.6 that looks that pretty, is going to command slightly more than an AC1 8.5

While true it not the highest in the census …also remember there’s only 1 8.5 and 2 9.0’s, whereas with the AF15 there’s 4 9.6’s. So yeah 8.5 isn’t the top grade but there’s only 2 other copies as good or better than an 8.5 when there’s 3 other copies as good as the 9.6.

Also keeping in mind there’s only 2 Action 1’s in an 8.0 and only 1 in a 7.5 and 0 in a 7.0. Meaning the 8.5 is one of the top 3 copies and if you miss out on it and want a high grade copy above a 6.5 you are talking about waiting for one of the only 6 books known to be in existence to come for sale again, which depending on your age you might wait the rest of your life for. With AF15 we see a 9.0 or better come to market seemingly every year, maybe not a 9.6 but there’s a lot more books at the top that come out for sale.

    20% drop since April.

Been going even lower on eBay. Auction that ended today went for $2481, and the last auction previous to that was 3 days ago for $2450. And there were auctions a couple weeks ago even lower in the 2300 range. I sold one UF4 9.8 in June for 2850 BIN and have 2 more sitting at CGC so have been watching this price quite a bit lately… personally think it’s not at the bottom yet, but time will tell.

  It really rather simple......Just buy this copy here and crack it out and then resub it back to CCS and CGC asking them to grade it according to the Promise Collection grading standards, and it'll easily come back as a CGC 9.8, if not even as a CGC 9.9 graded copy.  (thumbsu

Just crack it and send it in with a box of 25 books for pre-screen 9.8. Really easy if it’s not a 9.8 they’ll just send it back to you raw no big deal just pay the reject fee. :headbang:

Is this a TRUE 9.6 OR is it one that's been pressed and pressed until the current grade?

    I don’t know what’s a TRUE 9.6 anymore after seeing this (link below) but sure let’s call it a TRUE 9.6 for argument’s sake…

That’s what I was originally saying. There’s just no way it’ll surpass an Action. #1 just for that reason.

Yep. I mean it just wouldn’t make sense. But all that said all it takes is 2 people with unlimited funds to bid a book like this to the stratosphere, so anything’s possible but I agree with @Crowzilla I’d be setting the over/under around 2.5M, which is still an insane amount but seems about right given the 9.4 price of AF15 last year.

Ahh I like your thinking. The Marvel keys are on fire after all compared to DC, anything can happen with a 9.6 AF #15.

When you’re talking about Marvel vs. DC and which one is hotter that may work when you’re comparing AF15 to Showcase 22 but it doesn’t work when comparing to an Action 1 and never has. The reason being Action 1 has 42 blue labels in the census and AF15 has 2,204. Even if demand is slightly more for Spidey than Superman the limited supply has always made Action 1 the winner.

  10. 2 hours ago, clarkkentdds said:

My guess is 5. Seriously... possibly more.

That seems very unlikely… given that the Action 1 in 8.5 sold for 3.25M in April… and Action 1 is a much more rare book than AF 15. Just comparing to comic book sales it doesn’t seem likely, but then again if you’re comparing to whoever paid 1.5M for a N64 game then yeah 5M seems low.

    5.5 to 6.0 ish hm

I thought CGC's policy was that the grade doesn't change if the damage wasn't done post-encapsulation, and you can't tell me the book gained a color breaking crease post-encapsulation... unless they can show the case had been cracked open.

Honest to God 🙏 I didn't know if I should post this, but here goes nothing .....

I sent in with my Jim Lee SS in house signing

    A 20 book modern

    Received and SFG 7/12

    Went to GEI today 7/16...

So I'm either a winner or a loser for the quickness...

Will it ever stop yo idk, light up the mic and all flow. Light up the stage stage like a candle...

    downloadfile-1.gif

Exact same experience I just had. Let’s all just pool all our invoices together and ship them on a pallet, with a single Jim Lee signing book mixed in and get everyone’s entered into the system today.

Yeah, you almost need a chart or something! Especially when it switches back and forth from first names to the "descriptor" names they have (writer, doctor, etc.).

This is why I’ve not read issue 2 yet being that it’s a limited run of 12 issues figure I’ll just wait and read it in one shot.

  14. If you want your books entered into the system quickly just ship them in a box with a in-house signing apparently. Shipped an assorted box of 26 books which USPS showed as delivered 7/15 (1 Jim Lee signing, 8 Modern Slow Grading, 16 modern pressing/grading, 1 magazine pressing grading.) and all are now in the system as of this morning all the ones that need pressing marked as received and the 8 slow grading only marked as SFG. Meanwhile the box I sent of 75 without any signings that arrived a month ago has yet to be opened. Wasn’t expecting that, was just trying to save on shipping so I ship in bulk with multiple invoices, assumed they’d pull out the Jim Lee and kick my box to the side.

But they aren't offering a CGC option are they? That and the fact that it was a different cover is what made it in demand. Forbidden Planet was selling the regular cover signed for $14.

    https://forbiddenplanet.com/332069-mom-mother-of-madness-1-cover-a-ratcliffe-emilia-clarke-signed-edition/

Yeah I don’t think they’ve released the final art for the 1:500 but I’d suspect there’s something different about it than the Cover A to indicate it’s not just a Cover A with a signature could be wrong but that’s my guess. The cheapest I’ve seen it is Midtown listing it for $400. But like I said it will be “similar” to BRZRKR not that it will be  exactly the same. If you bought a bunch I hope it works out for you, but personally will just grab 1 copy of Cover A for the read.

  16. 3 minutes ago, ygogolak said:

Was not aware, thanks! Who is it signed by? Also, still no store variants, correct?

Signed by Emilia, just like BRZRKR was signed by Keanu. Which is why I said it’s going to be very similar the only difference is this one is a 1:500 whereas the Keanu was a 1:1000. But there will be a lot of stores ordering what they have to to hit the incentives since they’re signed by a celebrity making the regular covers very commonly overprinted and you’ll see a stack at your LCS for a long time due to that.

I see his shipping he limits his sale to certain customers?  Definitely could have gotten more, that 2.5 I sold via FB to a friend of a friend was 15k CAD.   I think this also the beginning of the correction, recent low sales will follow with others until we see a downward trend....

Yeah they had this in the description: I am only willing to ship this item to PWCC Vault or Shipmycards Customers due to people complaining about not receiving items.

Thats going to be a pass for a lot of buyers, I don’t know either of these companies and don’t care to read how legit they are or sign up for any membership on their sites even if it’s free. People come to eBay because they can buy low hassle. Also, I don’t see why this is a huge concern in the first place - people complaining about not receiving items? If you ship with a tracking number and signature confirmation which is required on eBay for purchases this large and it shows as delivered you’re safe as a seller on eBay, the buyer can’t demand a refund and claim they didn’t receive the item. They can talk to the shipping carrier about mail theft, but again if you signed for it you’re going to look pretty dumb. All that adds up to a lot of people not wanting to bid IMO. Prices might be dipping but I’d not look at this sale too hard as evidence.
