  1. Was out of town visiting the in laws and lucked out that a little garage sale was going on. I seem to always miss good garage sales. Stuff was halfway organized. The owner stopped collecting about 5 years ago. He had already had one or two sales recently I gathered but I was still able to find some good books that were overlooked. I spent about 30 mins going through probably 20 long boxes. Could have spent more time. Everything was somewhere between .50 and $3 ea. Paid $50 for everything.
  2. Overall, The fcbd books this year were pretty compared to most years IMO.
  3. You have $42. What do you buy? I found this ad in Daredevil 169. Right around 1 year after the letter, so prices should be pretty close.
  4. My modern submission went to SFG on 4/2, so any day now for both of us hopefully
  5. Between 2 stores I picked up about 5 books for me and another 10 for my nephews. By far my favorite so far (even though it's basically a big ad for overstreet) is the Guide to Collecting FCBD 2019. They had a nice 7 page article on stan lee. Both the comic "stories" are designed to explain how some comics are worth more than others...and that there is much more than just free comic book day! Kudos to Overstreet for making their Ad still fun to read. It's in their best interest to keep inspiring new collectors of course
  6. What was the hammering/forging sound at the very end of the credits ? Was I the only one who heard that ? Edit, I guess this: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2019/04/avengers-endgame-end-of-credits-sound-iron-man-armor-hammer-suit
  7. Can't believe no one has said the obvious answer... tree fiddy.
  8. For reference when we get to see the grades
  9. I use these for grade and put them on the back of the bag. Sometimes I'll put them on the front for notes about keys etc. https://m.staples.com/Avery-5418-Print-or-Write-Multiuse-ID-Labels-1-2-H-x-3-4-L-1-000-Pack-13936-5418/product_166165?adlpxid=pla;298738661968;325594113029;m;9017849;pla-298738661968;166165;pla;local;808&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtMvlBRDmARIsAEoQ8zTuAQVJz-rjL0ttnW_DdnLOR_OpzGc_I32Iwdq3Ti_LEcMDcvyNeO4aAqLvEALw_wcB Or I get larger ones for key notes.
  10. Nice sale at the LCS. Found some books I'd been looking for for awhile. Bought a short box... Here's the best of it. A few of these were only $1 each (not the Spawn).
  11. Ok, I just got my commission back today and I'm too excited about it not to share it here. Seriously so impressed. I gave him a rough idea and he just knocked it out of the park.
  12. Well dang, crossing my fingers for you. I'm sure it will turn up soon. I bet this week.
  13. Standard track Modern Delivered to CGC 3/25 Scheduled for grading 4/2 CC charged 4/4
  14. Just showed up. Went straight to Scheduled for grading. 25 books, modern, standard track. One thing I just thought of, OP - did you remember to put the packing slip in? That could cause delays or issues.
  15. Not yet for me... this is day 8 since delivered including 1 con weekend last weekend. I assume yours hasn't yet either ?
  16. I had books delivered there on Monday. Usually I've gone to verified next day but I'm sure with con season just starting up stuff is pretty backed up. Trying to be patient as well It's also been probably a year ish since my last sub. Sounds like the flow has maybe changed a bit.
  17. Keeps moving earlier and earlier. I remember when it was mid / late April.
  18. Funny thing is I found that thread when I used the search. Was a funny read! And Yes, that's the intention. I've found plenty of online vendors. I'm not in a rush and I don't have a blick nearby.
  19. Any recommendations for quality SRP? Most reviews don't specify type of use other than crafting or baking so hoping to get a point in the right direction. I don't mind if I have to cut it down, but 8.5 x 11 ish sheets would be good Thanks in advance for any help.
  20. One of my favorite local artists here in Iowa is Trey Baldwin. He has worked on some titles and has a few projects in the works. Trey is opening up his commission list and I appreciate his talent so much that I feel like I needed to share here. Here are some samples of his work - just a small sampling. His level of detail always impresses me. Trey does everything from small sketch cards, up to acrylic paintings. His rates are super reasonable. He's working on a highly detailed 9x12 scene for me right now. If you would like to reach him for commissions or more info, his contact info is below - just let him know Jeremy sent you. https://www.facebook.com/artoftreybaldwin/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/ArtofTreyBaldwin treycbaldwin@gmail.com
  21. It's not for sale directly on the boards but sorry if posted in the wrong place.
