It will be really interesting to see how this flood impacts turnaround times even with all the new hires.

Yes, and I also remember the $12 charge for modern grading.
Remember when you'd get a coupon for 4 Standard Tier books with your Premium membership?
I think it changed the year after I joined. I want to say I submitted a WD 1, Tec 411, FF 45 and a random modern book for a guy I worked with at the time because for the life of me I couldn't find a 4th I wanted to submit. Oh to be young again

I know I'm talking to myself here but maybe it'll help someone
I have good news
The grace period for when the new affect of prices goes into effect is a month from April 28th
So the rep said mine is set to auto renew may 25th which should put me before the May 28th deadline and I will get the current premium benefits
Sweet Timing on that renewal!!

but that is the discount, not new fees, no?
Damn... you're right I think...

that is ridiculous. $8 to reject a book? WTF? Isn't it easy money for them to look at 20 books and decide 15 of them aren't 9.8s?
Probably some formula based on how long it takes to prescreen and their overhead costs. And supposedly they are paying their graders more.... So we are undoubtedly paying for that and plays into the formula too.

As long as the online order was placed prior to 4/28 and received by 5/22 (I think) you should be good.
The way I'm reading it, your current membership perks don't expire until your renewal date:
"Important Reminder: CGC memberships purchased prior to April 28, 2021, will continue to have the current membership benefits until their renewal/expiration date."

A lot of changes, too.
Reholders are now $20 for reg, $50 for high value.
Fast track gets a 50% increase ($15 up from $10)
Discounts are no longer offered at Premium Tier - only Elite. By my math, if you do 70 or more Modern books a year, it's worth it to get the Elite now vs. the Premium.
Prescreen rejects are $8 up from $5 (60% increase).
The one saving grace for me is that your CURRENT benefits won't change until your membership renews. Mine just renewed in February so at least I get the discount for a little longer

Resurrecting this old thread as I have recent experience now ordering direct.
I emailed first, got a shipping turnaround quote of 4-8 weeks, and told all orders are done via phone. I have some supplies to get me by for now so I'm fine waiting a bit. All the prices from retailers seem to be going up on E. Gerber products, and they can't keep them in stock! No idea if E. Gerber has also adjusted pricing or not, but I figured it was a good time to bite the bullet and buy in bulk.
Anyway, I tried calling a few times throughout the day for three business days straight. One day it just went straight to voicemail all day. I never left a voicemail but was probably going to the next day if no luck. Finally connected with the customer service lady who must have seen I called so many times from the caller ID or something and she just called me back. I was friendly and to the point to order, she was likewise. She took my shipping info, put me on hold for a minute while she figured up my total, took payment info, said I'd be charged when it ships and would get UPS tracking.
All in all, the experience was what I've read from others. Seems like a small victory to finally get the order in, and at about 1/2 price in the long run vs. what I'd be paying anywhere else... though spending that money all in one big chunk!
That said, if you need supplies quicker or a smaller quantity, I still recommend Hot Flips. I placed a small order from these great guys and had it in under a week, and still more affordable than any other source I could find at the time for low quantity.

Just got an email from CGC stating there were so many books that Eastman did not even have time to sign them all... so they are taking books to him in 3-4 weeks to finish it up. :
"Kevin Eastman Signing - There was an INCREDIBLE number of books submitted for Mr. Eastman -- so many so, he did not have enough time to sign them all, so we are bringing the books to him so they can be completed in roughly 3-4 weeks. "
I'm sure with my luck my books are part of the delayed batch

The next step will be scheduled for grading, which won't be for another few weeks.

I have some books in for the Eastman signing (which has been happening the last few days) that are still marked as Received. I'm a little nervous they forgot my books somewhere, but I'm sure I'm just being paranoid. Is this normal and books don't move to Scheduled for grading until after they are signed? Or is there another stop along the way during the signing phase? It's my 1st in-house signing, so I'm a noob at this part and again - probably just being paranoid.

And now this !

"...In addition to hiring, CCG is expanding its production through multi-million-dollar investments in cutting-edge technology, including AI, robotics, advanced software and more."
Will the encapsulation process be changed? Hmmm. Interesting things on the horizon for sure.

I saw CGC posted a big hiring ad/video on facebook. Here's a link to all the positions they are looking to fill:
32 positions in FL, 5 of them being specifically CGC and a bunch CCG. It seems like they just keep growing exponentially, and the pandemic has undoubtedly improved many aspects of their business. I'm sure they are making a TON on the in house signings too. It would make sense to hire when TATs get bogged down to the point they are now, as long as it seems like things are not slowing down at all. They probably don't want to temp hire graders - it's a long term position I would assume.

I did call today, cgc said that they were wrapping up the week of Jan 25th then on to Feb 1st and 2nd and so on
Still hoping, cause mine were for a signature series that the deadline to have them in was Feb 8th
My submission that was delivered 2/1 isn't marked as recieved yet either, so no worries. Good luck on your SS . Did you initial the box on all sides?

Sig series books seem to be recieved ahead of regular subs for obvious reasons....hopefully us regular submissions more along soon.
Yep - this is my first in-house signing. Thinking it might be interesting to post here in case anyone else is curious how the TATs worked through the entire process. I have a 25 book modern sub on the way so once that shows up I'll add it in too.
