And here's my opinion: 1989 Batman is the best Batman movie so far, Michael Keaton is the best Batman so far, and Jack Nicholson's Joker is the best Joker so far.

I'm not denying Dark Knight is a fine film, btw. It's just when I was watching it I couldn't stop thinking, among other things, how much the movie looked and felt like Michael Mann's Heat.

Well, hot diggity...I agree with you! :whatthe:

I can tell you why I "lurk" without posting. Every thread turns into inside or private jokes. To post something you either have to be in before the rest of the group or risk "derailing" their conversation. This is what happens to forums when they've been around a long time and there is probably nothing you can do.

I just started diving in blindly like I knew what the heck they were talking about...if nothing else it breaks up the flow of posts (with at least a "you've chosen to ignore content by").  Come to think of it, maybe it's a good thing lurkers don't always post!

All 9.8's are not created equal...

It's a hard lesson all comics junkies must learn...they can even start out as 9.8 on the label and be reduced in actual grade, incrementally, with the passage of time.  I've personally decided to let all my keepers remain un-slabbed so that I have final say on what grade level they maintain!

So I caught The Punisher on Netflix, and loved it, albeit, it wasn’t universally well thought of.  I started Daredevil, but stopped after a couple episodes, was just annoyed with the whole cancelling of certain shows because of Disney+ or whatever. I didn’t realize D’Onofrio played Kingpin.  He is an exceptional actor in my opinion.  He’s such a in Godfather of Harlem.  So good.  I see he’s coming back in Hawkeye.  Good at making the good guy with issues look like the good guy, because he’s such a punk.  Look forward to it.  He’s perfect for that role.  Makes sense for a Spidey movie at some point.

There's a scene from Daredevil season 2 where Fisk and Murdock are talking over a table in the prison where Fisk is being held...it's the best thing I've ever see D'onofrio do. It's spine-tingling

i rate brolin's thanos way higher than an honorable mention! he's top 3 for me. the seamless integration of the 3d computer effects with his genuine facial expressions, body acting and voice acting made it so easy to forget thats not actually his face. when SPOILER ALERT!!! he has to sacrifice the one he loves, his tears are absolutely genuine. he's sympathetic, psychopathic and freaking amazing.

tom hardy's silly bane cannot hold a candle to this performance or this character. i put him right under the ledger and phoenix jokers, alongside gene hackman as luthor, and ian mckellan belongs there as well as maggy.

(-i know this is in the GA section but you did say G and S mix here.) though perhaps thanos is bronze... still a better movie villain than most of the rest...

Josh Brolin did a great job and the MCU Thanos was an intriguing character in his own right...but he was not the Thanos I was hoping to see since AVG 1, imo (he sort of becomes that guy later on, but I would have liked to see an earlier incarnation with a more nihilistic portrayal).

There was also the idea that his mother was a Skrull in disguise at one point, also to explain his facial appearance.

Wow, never knew that!  Always wondered if those chins were related somehow!

  7. Always a pleasure to deal with Wayne!  He picked up a raw TTA 59 from my recent sales thread and, as usual, things went smoothly.  Great communication, paid quickly, was responsive to pms and let me know how the book arrived...can't ask for much more from a buyer!  Thanks and take care!
