Rich colors, clean cover, excellent centering and structure. Second highest graded with only one higher! Hard to own with only seven in census and only two added over the last six years. An underappreciated Fiction House series for sure.

  11. Chamber of Chills #21 (CGC 7.0 with off-white to white pages) $1350 $1250: Awesome Lee Elias cover with fabulous artwork by Howard Nostrand, Bob Powell and Joe Certa. Nostrand is well known for his horror art work not only on Chamber of Chills but also Witches Tales, Tomb of Terror and Black Cat Mystery. Page 1 from Nostrand’s “The Inside Man” (from comicbookplus.com). Two doctors are attempting to bring the dead back to life. They have access to a dictator’s political prisoners to practice on. See what fate awaits them. Bob Powell was also a very well known and talented artist. Probably best remembered for his “Good Girl Art” on Jumbo Comics, Jungle Comics and Cave Girl. Page 5 from Powell’s “The Choir Master” (also from comicbookplus.com). An old choir master is rebuffed by his former students as he seeks help working again as a choir leader. He teaches them a lesson they’ll never forget. An 8.5 w/cream to off-white pages sold on ComicLink in August 2018 for $1700 while a 6.5 w/cream to off-white pages sold on ComicLink in May 2018 for $1300.
  12. Shocking Mystery Cases #52 (CGC 5.5 with off-white pages) $700: SOLD. Black Bat. L.B. Cole. The master of primary colors. The impresario of the unexpected, bizarre and unique. No comic artist drew such unorthodox, striking or thought-provoking covers as L.B. Cole; no comic artist used a kaleidoscope of colors like L.B. Cole; no comic artist drew such phenomenal covers for so many genres as L.B. Cole. When you saw an L.B. Cole cover you knew who the artist was almost immediately. He was simply the best Golden Age cover artist (IMHO). Shocking Mystery Cases #52 may be one of his tamer covers. Ten heads surround a gorgeous trapeze artist plunging to her death with a knife sticking out her back. Which head is the carnival killer? This is an extremely difficult issue to own with only 5 having been certified by CGC. This is the highest graded copy with one other in grade. A very pretty copy at a very pretty price.
  13. Wartime Romances #9 (CGC 4.5 with off-white to white pages) $700 $650: Classic Matt Baker. Clean cover with no writing or date stamps. Very difficult to own with only 6 in census. Third highest with highest graded only a 6.0.
  14. Wonder Comics #11 (CGC 6.5 with cream to off-white pages) $850: SOLD. Ricksneatstuff. Terrific Graham Ingels “Good Girl Art” highlights this superb Wonder Comics cover. Known for his spectacular EC horror art, Ingels was no slouch when it came to GGA. This is one of two covers Ingels did for Wonder Comics. This cover presents extremely well and has excellent centering. Some nice GGA in “ Devens of Futuria” story (courtesy of comicbookplus.com). Looks like octopus man is getting way too fresh with Mira.
  15. Blue Beetle #48 (CGC 3.0 with white pages) $600 $550: A nice presenting lower grade. “Good Girl Art” headlights cover at its finest by Jack Kamen.
  16. Pictorial Romances #15 (CGC 3.5 with white pages) $550 $500: A very nice presenting 3.5 St. John Matt Baker cover. Note the detail and the colors. A gorgeous blond in a white off-the-shoulder dress. Prominent display of the wedding ring as she plans on ruining and cheating on her husband. An expensive looking bracelet and broach. Of course she has money. Look at the oil wells in the background. And that purple wine decanter. A nice contrast to the muted colors of the dress and suit. Hard to find this issue with white pages.
  17. Strange Mysteries #7 (CGC 6.0 with off-white to white pages) $585 $535: A solid mid-grade Iger Shop creepy skull cover and art. Nicely centered. A clean cover with no writing or date stamps. Great stories in this one.
  18. Fantastic #8 (CGC 8.5 with cream to off-white pages, Northford Pedigree. Old blue label.) $600: SOLD Ricksneatstuff. A stunning, bizarre and spookish bat-skull creature is making off with the gorgeous damsel in this underrated sci-fi/horror fusion cover. Bright, bold and rich colors highlight this Northford Pedigree. Only two issues graded higher in the census.

  20. Cow Puncher #6 (CGC 5.0 with cream to off-white pages) $600 $550: What we have here is an exceptional “Good Girl Art Headlight Bondage” cover by Walter Johnson. 22. Just received another pile of reading material from Bob. This is my 10th rodeo. As always, solid packaging, fast shipment and as described. I don't know where Bob gets some of this stuff. Must be the result of "never throw anything away". You can't go wrong buying from Bob.
