  1. Tim, i don't think anyone responded to your request for the two Marvel FF 10 centers, so here are mine. the #2 has that chunk outta the top or it would kick some arse................ I take it you haven't slabbed issue #1 yet? What grade is that lovely book.
  2. Now that is cool, something I love to have for my own home one day.
  3. Wow any book that's 50+ years old from that era and its still a 9.8, all I can say is
  4. Approx how many books are covered/featured in the GA Gerber photojournal? With every post I see a new book for the first time, great stuff.
  5. Sounds good to me. We "Timely" lovers have to stick together! They love me...they really, really love me! West In a Viking sort of way, don't get any ideas.
  6. Neat books, never seen them before. I didn't know there was a "bat hound" and it has a mask too. Also a "super key" where does Superman keep it, under the super door mat or perhaps the super key chain.
  7. Welcome to the boards. Nice book, I am a huge Sub-Mariner fan so keep them coming.
  8. Without knowing what the back of the book looks like, could that miswrap be "pressed" so the white border is more even down the spine? Love that cover.
  9. Sounds good to me. We "Timely" lovers have to stick together!
  10. 36, but I need to buy some more GA books so I can actually feel right about calling myself a GA collector.
  11. A topic I am fascinated about. Do the Gerber Photo Journals go into scarcity ratings or is that covered in a different book?
  12. That back cover is classic. Talk about a different world back then. Mark, that is some haul you picked up on Heritage.
  13. So as this is not restored and in pretty nice shape what is this worth? A small fortune?
  14. Famous last words perhaps? Stick around for a while as Newbies always go through a hazing period or baptism of fire at some point.
  15. Jon, Is your copy restored and what do you know about the actual find of the Motion Picture Funnies weekly? Not restored.....they all came out of the Jacquet estate who was head of Funnies Inc. which produced many comics in the 1940s...This was try-out which did not fly as a weekly...blank inner covers.....full color inside...material that got used in Marvel 1 and 2 and Silver Streak..... Jon, sorry about all the questions but I find the stories behind these books facinating. Is this a very limited release? I'd look it up in the OS guide but I don't even know what number this one is?
  16. I sometimes forget how great these early Schomburg covers are.... The cover gloss on that book is pretty amazing after all these years. Jon do you use microchamber paper for your books?
  17. Welcome to the boards. here is an example of spine stresses. Notice the white lines that look like cracks. Original copy so if you read your books as much as I did with this copy you can expect tons of them.
  18. I hate to muddy this thread so I'll be brief. I just want consistency, clear guidelines for all to understand and be held accountable to and if poor judgement/policy was used in the past, acknowledge it, correct it for the better and move forward.
  19. I only recently became aware of these issues and to be honest I have lost a lot of confidence in the operation as a whole as a result. I just saw a GA book that have a "spot of glue which was holding the centerfold in" yet it still was given the blue label. Stuff like this is too objective to not question the Heritage connection, etc. The fact that they will offer pressing under the NGC umbrella just further confirms (to me at least) that it all about the money first, not the hobby. As Paull said if the message wasn't so shrill more people would probably speak up about it.
