  2. That was my first thought but I can’t seem to find any contact info for Andy at all. He’s not on Facebook or any social media. Adam is everywhere, but Andy is not. Unless I’m missing something?
  3. I fixed it, thanks! Yes, definitely trying to track down the piece if anyone has any leads.
  4. OA Officianados, Looking for some guidance on how one would go about tracking down X-men Trading Card original art (specifically the Kubert/Pennington piece in the picture). I’m sure it’s a super long shot, but I don’t even know where to start. Anyone know if this Wolverine piece was swiped from an existing comic page/cover by Kubert/Pennington or was it created specifically for the 1993 X-men 2 Trading Card? Any help or info would be much appreciated!
  5. @batmiesta those are some seriously nice looking books!!!
  6. I’m not sure why it’s my favorite, always loved the cover and the creepy stories. Probably because it’s the one I read the most.
  7. Eric I love the idea! Definitely the same block lettering in the title so that justifies me seeking them out
  8. Good question, I’m not sure. To creaturefans point, I think the name and format was inspired by DCs “80 Page Giants”. I’m unsure of the history of the Treasury editions though.
  9. From what I’ve read, yes Marvel was inspired by the longer DC editions.
  10. I have that issue Paul, it is a good one! Thanks for posting!
  11. I store them separately. The whole collection fits perfectly in a short box. I have duplicates of most of the books, so I put those with their respective titles.
  12. Definitely some important issues! Honestly Im surprised I haven’t seen somebody else chase this run, and there’s very little about the GS books on google. Obviously GSXM1 gets a lot of attention, but to your point, there are some important books in the run. I’ve seen people collect all of the Two-In-Ones and all of the What Ifs but I don’t recall seeing another GS complete collection, which is crazy because these books are SO AWESOME!
  13. After many years of collecting, I finally own every Marvel Giant Size book! Background: Although I didn't grow up in the 1970s when the GS books were hitting the stands, I had several well-read copies that I cherished above all of my other comics. Why? Because they were big! I didn't care that some of the stories were reprints, I just liked reading a beefy thick comic book and my appreciation for the GS books continued into my adult years. I've been slowly (very slowly) collecting every GS title over the years and it feels great to finally have them all (at least I think I do! ). Over 95% of this collection was purchased "the old fashioned way", at garage sales, comics shops, and from generous CGC Boardies. Sure, you could easily jump on eBay and assemble all 68 issues, but what fun is that?! I intentionally avoided eBay for this run (can you call it a run?!) Rough guess, but this run has taken me +10 years to complete. Many of them are low grades, but I prefer it that way...I decided to seek all of these books out because I want my sons to be able to read them and enjoy them just like I did as a kid (and yes I have floppy versions of the graded books). Cheers and happy collecting! Fun Facts: - My first Giant Size book as a kid: GS Kid Colt #1 - My last purchase to complete the set: GS Man Thing #4 - My favorite GS book: GS Chillers #2 - Hardest GS book for me to find "organically": GS Kid Colt #3 - Most $ spent on a GS book: GS Spiderman #4 (I got my original copy of GSXM1 at a garage sale, had it graded, traded down years later for the 5.0 I currently have!) - I've read every single one! Let's celebrate these quintessential Bronze Marvel books by posting your favorite GS books in the thread! Thanks for reading. Also, in case anyone is interested here’s the list of all the GS books: DD 1 Conan 1,2,3,4,5 Master of Kung Fu 1,2,3,4 FF 2,3,4,5,6 Man Thing 1,2,3,4,5 Dracula 2,3,4,5 Defenders 1,2,3,4,5 Cap 1 Cap Marvel 1 Doc Savage 1 Superstars 1 Thor 1 Iron man 1 Hulk 1 Invaders 1 Power Man 1 Dr Strange 1 Chillers 1,2,3 Chillers 1 (Dracula) Marvel Triple Action 1,2 Avengers 1,2,3,4,5 Super Villain Team Up 1,2 Spider-Man 1,2,3,4,5,6 Kid Colt 1,2,3 Creatures 1 Werewolf 2,3,4,5 Xmen 1,2
  14. Didn't go this year, how was it? Their social media scared me away when they started posting about the long lines to get in, even for ticket holders. My family and have gone every year since they started this in a school gym, but with 4 kids there's no way we're going to stand in line for 3 hours AFTER we've already bought tickets. Hopefully they figure their logistics out, we were bummed to missed it but that's a bit ridiculous. Glad the show is getting bigger, but looks like there's still a lot of work to be done to manage the growth more effectively.
  15. Didn't see the price anywhere it said something about $400 if you supply your own issues...how much if you don't? I'd love to support Matt on this but I recently put together another full run so I could have them bound. I miss Mind MGMT, best series ever.
  16. Respectfully disagree. If you had watched Daredevil season 1 and 75% of the show was about Stick and 25% was about Daredevil, you'd likely be disappointed. If that were the case, why not call it "Stick. Season 1". Iron Fist should have been called "The Meachums. Season 1". And super disagree about Finn Jones, he was absolutely horrific as an actor. To me, a series of weak if many of the supporting characters are better actors than the main character. Glad you liked it, but I'm definitely not alone in thinking this show was a disappointment.
