  1. One of the two Universal 9.8s and the SS 9.8 are both copies I subbed.

If you guys want a 9.8, there's the "Wizard Authentic Edition" (which has no business being in a blue slab, but whatevs) for $200 on eBay. It's not mine, and $200 for a 9.8 copy of this book is not bad at all, for a book that is not ever going to be easy to find (unless you have access to my boxes. :D )

Seriously, though, because it was so thin and cheap, the spine split. You all know to what I refer. White, white, white as far as the eye can see.

The only reason I have 9.8s at all is because I bought most of Wizard's stock when they sold in 2007. I have probably 200 copies, and only about 10-15 of those were legit 9.8 quality, from which the two slabs came.

PS. The SS copy is for sale... :shy:

That guy who is selling that 1/2 been buying up gen 13's on eBay and trying to resell them but little does he know it's a niche market

  2. I miss this thread. Anybody else got some nice Gen 13's?

Been a love and hate for me lately. Can't find the ones I need to complete my collection :( Might just sell all of them and forget I ever love this series :(

Mine was received on the 23rd and still waiting for fast track. Getting excited!!!

  4. G4TV :cloud9:

She was the only reason I watched AOTS lol

I heard Jamie Chung wanted to play Psylocke so bad she practice Betsy's British accent.

My guest is they casted Munn because she's well known to fans.

It also helps that she's a nerd.

Maybe Jamie Chung's involvement in Disney/Marvel's "Big Hero 6" hurt her chances with FOX?

I personally love her and she can act, even in a thankless movie like "The Abduction of Eden".

Now she can't act. Also she doesn't have any traits of psylocke.

  5. I sent about 10 books to Heroes Restoration. Recieved on Jan 10th and will be receiving partial books back while this weekend if not this coming Monday. While the other books are going to CGC for fast track so probably another month.

I estimated the same with Heroes Restoration since CCS was about the same. Plus Heroes Restoration is local for me, kinda.

So far I like my dealings with Mike. He always answers my news questions.

  6. I have an ethical question:

I'm putting together a sales thread where my prices will be less than what others have been listing (but not selling) some books of late.

For example, I have a run of Super-Duper Strong Guy (names changed to protect the innocent) that guide for around $15 each, but I'm going to sell them for $5. Several threads have been up recently with Super-Duper Strong Guy issues that I'm going to sell that the buyers want $15 (or more) for.

Is this a move on my part? I'm not going to point out the other sales threads -- "See, you can buy it cheaper from me!" -- but I also don't want people to get angry when I'm selling stuff for less. (And, I think, I'll actually sell the stuff and not have it sit in a sales thread.)

My feeling with selling is I'd rather get $10 now than sit on something trying to milk out $15 or $20 for months and months.

    Thoughts?

You're not doing anything wrong. If you're looking to sell then by all means sell it to what you think it would sale fast for.

I do this all the time. When I am looking to sell, I will sell low but not to where I would lost a lot of money on it. Cash is better in your hands than not.

  7. I updated my OS and mac doesn't support powerpc applications past 10.7!

I've been looking for a Microtek patch everywhere with no luck...

Has anyone else had these issues? Any help would be great...

    :sorry:

Why not bootcamp your mac with Windows 8 or 7? Surely this would fix that issue since there are drivers for those OS.

I'm planning on buying an imac 5k soon and will do this for my hp 8300. Might consider getting a rasberry pi and run it off of my 2nd monitor with a switch to swap monitors.

  8. I use American Collector's Insurance. So far the process has been sound and they have been flexible to update as my collection has grown.

Not sure there is such a thing as a "simple/easy process" when it comes to getting an insurance company to payout. Realistically they will all do everything in their power to pay you as little as possible.

Insurance is a necessary evil, but it is still a scam for the most part.

I am planning to get american insurance too but currently my farmers covers my books.

Buying insurance is easy but when you have a claim is a different story.

  9. I broke down and got the HP Scanjet 8250 on Ebay. Its way better than taking photos, I can say that. I do have the reflection issues with certain slabs, but not all. It's way quicker then dealing with photos, which was a major pain.

I was using my company's Bizhub all in one at work. I was using photobucket for hosting and then when company changed firewall, photobucket can no longer be accessed :(

So I switched to Flickr and so far I like it as it display larger pictures than PB.

Only downside to my owner scanner is if I scan at higher resolution it's slow but I can scan @ 600x600 at work super fast :)
