  1. Hustruck,

Can you provide answers to the following questions.

    1) Did you attempt to sell a book on the boards (or Instagram via the boards if that is easier for you), before you even owned the book, otherwise known as drop shipping?

    2) Did you say the book arrived damaged and use a picture that was taken from the boards and from a totally different book?

lol he is pulling the same thing as this person?

    List up sales from mycomicshop...

  2. so no response? what does that mean for hustruck??

As I understand it, you had expected to buy a book and tried to set up a meeting, which he declined, and then claimed (falsely, it appears) that the slab was damaged and broke off contact. And you have not heard from him since, is that correct?

yes... I claimed the book, made arrangements to meet up because he wanted cash... kept getting the run around. Then a week later got the fake cracked case pic and told another story, I nominated him for probation... got a bunch of txts (gave him my number to meet and exchange for the book) and noones heard from him since... no Instagram, never read my PM, no boards ??

Hustruck bought an Akira #2 off of me for $25 plus $12 shipping. He also claimed a slight crack and wanted $12 for reholder fee. I asked for pictures of the crack and he sent me a picture of the side. Stupidly enough, I didn't ask for pictures of the crack with the front cover :(

I just wanted to get rid of him so I just refunded his $12.

The picture he sent me was just a hairline crack on one of the sides. I believe the background was dark as well.

  3. Grade now in

Nice! Was the mask insert still fully attached? I've got a killer copy as well, but finding one with the mask in place is near impossible (I assume mine gets the green label with the loose mask). Congrats!

That's my issue as well. I have #1 and a few others that comes with the mask or some kind of insert and I dont' have it.

    These are hard to grade.

    I finally broke down and bought a 9.8 :)

  4. So like i said in another thread. I would post some information that I have on scanners. I too am plagued by having a very nice all in one Epson that loves to cut the bottom of the scans because it's just not quite big enough. I take my slabs to work where I can scan them using a massive Canon 6550 copier/scanner/everything but the kitchen sink...haha.

I was looking for a newer model scanner to scan slabs since I will be having hundreds of slabs to post in the coming year. After a bit of research I have found that most are over $1k with a few in the $400-700 range.

I wanted a nice cheaper alternative that isn't a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp tech. Low and behold I found a reasonable priced scanner (to me at least) that was only $280 new, using LED tech and scans tabloid size, otherwise 12"x17".

    Plustek 1180

I've already ordered the scanner and should be at my house on Monday where I can test it. If people are interested in the performance let me know and I can post scans of some books that I have for your review. I don't know if people are willing to spend almost $300 on a scanner but at least I'm not limited to old technology which won't work on windows 7 or 8.

    Hope the info helps.

Zacreth, please do post some scans. I would be interested to see if this will actual scan slabs and if it does the job well, I will definitely buy one. Thanks for being a test subject lol

  5. I was looking at All-In-Ones last night and was wondering if anyone could give me feedback on:

    Epson WF 7510

    or

    HP 7500a

I just bought this on clearance at Office Max for $100 and for slabs it takes forever to scan and send via wireless. Also the slabs come back blurry. Played with the settings and still having issues. Going to return it tomorrow. I knew I would run into this issue.

Going to purchase a HP Scanjet 8300 on ebay. There is a seller that has 10 of these new in the box for $250.

If you want to go with a scanner for your slabs - in my experience, you will never find anything at a store that works well.

Your best bet is always buying used or going online buying over-stock.

Yeah, I realized that now lol

I thought $100 for a wide format all in one is a good deal figuring it's some what the new model plus build in wifi but now I am swaying at a hp 8300 over stock.

  7. I like to take people at their word Hustruck, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Its just that too many of these types of things seem to happen to you. I have never had someone pick me out at random and shill my Ebay auctions or hack my PayPal account or any other weird things, so I guess it makes people suspicious.

To answer your last question, in my opinion only, NO! It was your mistake that lead to the problems with the transaction. At this point, the sellers have a right to protect themselves. This goes back to the reputation thing.

    He got caught shilling too?

  8. What I don't understand is this:

    1. PayPal is linked to your email or phone, so if payment wouldn't have gone through, wouldn't he receive notice and act upon it with the sellers to make right.

    2. Payments through PayPal using a checking account gets bumped back by one thing from my understanding, insufficient funds.

    Am I missing something here?

  9. People have their lists of who they won't deal with. When you harass enough people with your "could you do 80% off of your asking price and throw in shipping" sometimes your name gets added to those lists. That and reversing PayPal charges. :/ You can't nominate someone to the PL because they don't want to deal with your shenanigans. lol

I had someone PM me thinking I was a mod ( :D ) praying that their transaction with you would be straightened out saying the same thing happened to them. If they want to come forward, they can. That's not up to me. (shrug)

lol, I thought I was the only one that didn't like his 80% off tactics

The same rules should apply to everyone.

    Otherwise what is the point.

So what he is saying is, he caused all this trouble and now seller wants to cancel deal due to his insufficient funds that they're going to be nominated? Lets see what the votes will be on this matter.
