  1. There are definitely some misses I regret not going harder for over the years, with many not being seen since auction.
On the opposite end, there are times I’ve gone super hard and was surprised I didn’t win - only to see those pieces quickly turn up on dealer sites. In those situations, I’m glad I didn’t bid higher. Yes, I could’ve made the dealers pay up more, but I also could have won at a ridiculously inflated price.

Kind of disagree re: creating a single HA thread.  And can't really be "enforced".  However, a simple thing to improve all the HA topics... include HA's official "Auction #" and/or auction dates.

Yeah, it seems like every HA thread gets OT AF at some point. I like getting the reset of a new auction thread. Agree with putting the auction dates in the thread title.

  3. I have around 5 commissions that didn’t work for a variety of reasons. They’re in my miscellaneous itoya that I figure I’ll donate to a hero initiative auction at some point. Maybe someone else can appreciate them if I can’t. Or if I get super ornery as I age, I’ll just make a CAF folder for pieces that don’t work.
So altruism or scorched earth. TBD.

I went to the charity art auction this year.  I've really only dabbled in original comic art and it seemed like there were some pretty hardcore collectors there.  A Thor piece by Walter Simonson (the cover of the Modern Masters book), which was presented by Simonson himself, sold for $20K.

It was not the published cover - it was a reinterpretation done for the auction. It was still awesome tho.

also noticed a lot more items than usual with reserve prices.  Perhaps a hedge against another unscheduled shutdown? Decreased confidence in Clink’s performance? A weakening market?

    Thoughts?

    Flip protection.
