  1. I showed Kav this in a PM, it came to mind after all the talk about comic book novelties. I made this mural for my friend’s grunge era alternative rock bar in 1993. It’s 4 4x8 Masonite panels so 8x16 overall. It portrays a comic laid out flat... staples and all. It came back to me after the bar closed and I ended up selling it to another bar owning friend. It’s now hanging in the small concert area of his bar.

I saw an episode where rick said he always wanted the polaris sub as a kid so i called eddie immediately.  he contacted pawn stars and they were excited.  I said either pawn stars or the smithsonian-thats where the sub belongs-the only one left of this cultural icon.

Oh wow, when you first mentioned it, I figured it could be a cringe moment where Rick shoots him down. This should be a cool outcome if he’s always wanted one... possible legit offer... wonder if your buddy would sell.

Not sure if these are the original posters as far as I am aware the originals came in 2 pieces printed on plastic.

I’ll bet that the production changed over the years, possibly to keep postage costs as low as possible. In the red box on the ad that Jayman posted it says expensive heavy varnished paper- that looks like the Dracula example. The Frankenstein- hard to really tell from the photo, but looks less varnished and possibly lighter weight paper. They may have switched to the cheap and lighter weight plastic years later...?

Excellent video, and goes into some great details (so you know, don't just watch 10 minutes of it before forming an opinion ). This guy has been doing some great work researching and disseminating the workings of ongoing lawsuits in the video game sector, so to see something of his have overlap with comics was very interesting (The info about HA listing CGC books for data points was interesting and I believe it, I've personally seen big collectors list and buy their own books for larger amounts - happy to pay the sellers fee just to help pump up selling a different higher grade copy later. Those guys were jerks.)

Doubtful any fees are paid by those who shill their own books and also pretty much own the auction house.
