  1. Found these somewhat randomly in Coupeville Washington at an estate sale I happened to drive by. They weren't even part of the estate sale, but that's where the contact was made ;-) Oops need to see if I can resize photos on the iPhone About 50 comics with a few nicer books including that pink flash first gorilla grodd.
  2. Love my Okajima. Best backstory pedigree out there. Female collector. Japanese. Interned. And yet the books were saved fairly pristine.
  3. 1961 vintage "Dell comics are good comics" 15cent postage stamp era. Tried to buy this around 8 years ago at a local auction and got outbid. Was I happy to see it for sale locally again....yep.
  4. Go Sugar Go Sugar Go Spike Go Spike Love the passion you have for those classics. I personally love the Stanley and his Monster / Fox and the Crow....some day you can share those you have with all of us as well.....I'm sure they are nicer than my copies.
  5. picked up a nice copy at the LCS yesterday for a decent price...I'll have to scan....
  6. That was mine, I found it and bought it from the OO along with a few hundred other comics, then found a coverless and married the centerfold (fully disclosed).....figured Tortoise would never let it go...congrats on it. It came out of Texas.
  7. I see a few very vested interests in this string of conversations. I know many collectors and a few dealers that I buy from raw in a heartbeat. The consistent graders who I buy from that when submitting books, I know will come back with a higher CGC number. It's my special list
  8. Right thing to do. Thanks for the update. +1 I agree. CGC is doing the right thing. I am perfectly satisfied with this answer. However, regarding the current owner/submitter of this book, what the heck were you thinking ? I can't understand why you would resub this book in the first place and, miracle of miracles, you get a Blue Label and immediately tell Dan about it. What did you expect ? Also, it seems awfully cowardly to do your talking through Dan and not come on here to discuss. It sure makes it appear as if you are hiding something. No no didn't you read Dan's transmission of his statement, this book was meant for his permanent collection to never ever leave again. That's why he immediately paid a couple hundred bucks for a walk-through submission as soon as he bought the book. Uh huh I knew I should have saved my 20,000 th post for a better moment. I have to agree here that resubbing immediately makes no sense whatsoever..... You are right, it makes no sense in the context of "this is for my personal permanent collection". I have books that I've resubbed for my personal permanent collection. Removed the color touch, resub, purple becomes blue. I'm happy. Looks better in my registry, etc. Understood. But You can't remove trimming

  11. I still have a handful of loose stamps. Maybe 20-30
  12. They look nicer than the grades. Sweet! Most excellent Tom I bought a few from fantasyland15 in the last 6 months Great stuff
  13. Sure crazyman, you just let me know when you find any verifiable FACTS 100% linking the CGC Forums to the rapid price jump in a given issue. You're like a whacko wearing an anti-alligator necklace in Alaska, and when you question him about its validity: "I ain't never been bit by an alligator, and I don't reckon I will". My anti-alligator necklace works just fine while I'm out skating on the lake. Don't be a hater. Have you even been to Alaska ::
  14. Maybe just a factor percentage higher or lower note for books. Similar to how pence books have been historically dealt with. Pence sell for 60-70% US Newsstand sell for 110-125% of Direct. And pull out key book that sell for divergent percentages Etc?
  15. I've considered this book a grail for me for quite a while, but they just don't show up in Alaska on a regular basis.
  16. nice job in your never ending completionist efforts.... i wonder which issues haven't been posted on this thread to date. it's been a long time since I recall an update. Cheers
  17. I think most collectors buy and sell to feed their hobby. Too bad you didn't get the deal but here are many items out there and you will find more. The newly minted (I can ebay) seller will likely enjoy the prep selling and shipping. You can watch the fun if and when he ever gets around to it. Likely they will be relisted on Craigslist at 50%-100% more in an attempt to make what he now thinks they are worth. Whatever you would have paid is more than me as I know nothing of these plastic dolls you folks speak of.
  18. A few recent acquisitions which will be coming to market after I compare them to my personal copies...
  19. Those Tos aren't from this dimension. The 11 blows mine away and my copy is pretty dang nice. Great stuff
  20. I have a copy I will share later. I also have a non comic collector friend that has a copy that he found back in '88
  21. I want to pay for one.....but I missed out on the early solicitation
