  1. And the last few...and yes, my scanner does truly bite.
  2. From one TOS lover to another....thanks Mr. Tom Moore for filling a few holes in my Pre-Hero toss in the towel run.
  3. Sold my beautiful 9.4 Thor 166 White pager to Matthew. Great to deal with. Quick payment and recommended to anyone as an A1 Boardie. Cheers Comicdey
  4. I'd be buying all the cool undervalued SA DC pre 1968 keys in 7.0+. B&B and Showcase have a ton of cool books in the runs and who doesn't love Sea Devils and Metal Men and Doom Patrol and Challengers and .....
  5. Crazy. 6 months or so ago that price would have purchased a VF + copy. I was trying to save for a nice copy, but I'm out until/unless the comic market crashes. True But really This and many other SA DC are still way undervalued compared to Marvel and everyone knows that certain DC's show up much less frequently for sale. With prices rising, we likely expect more availability. If that doesn't happen, then scarcity can add to the irrational "Exuberance".
  6. I see eBay is absent of many copies these days too. Savvy buyers are snatching then up. Makes me happy to have my raw VF+ bought in 1987 for around $20.
  7. What dealer.? I bought the book from Greg White as unrestored. Greg the Kissimmee Queen :-) I've been to his trailer once to look at comics. Living with his mom on the same property. Never been to his warehouse? I did see him pay pennies on the dollar for a full old school grocery paper bag of DC SA keys from a little old lady. Pretty sure he paid somewhere around $200 for a bag that had some sweet Books including showcase 4,8, etc. and most if not all of the same era keys. My memory has faded a bit. I bought one GA book because I drove so far but it was obvious that he was not on the up and up with many books. Sorry about your trim.
  8. No, I don't think he asked for opinions so you didn't miss it. (thumbs u When I was a kid my mother taught me a life lesson that I have always tried to follow: If you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all. That's good advice. Just hard to follow at times for many
  9. Wasn't there a guy on comic book men giving a stretch Armstrong an oil rubdown.... Gimme somma dat
  10. That is a beautiful 3.0 with great edges. I assume it had color touch that had to be scraped off to garner a blue label with those weird scratches but wow what a pretty book. How's the back? If there are no big pieces missing I think you have the prettiest 3.0 out there. I just saw the note of tape on interior cover. Probably would have graded much higher under the old rules.
  11. First beast boy, not easy to come by in higher grade, cool book, teen titans tie in..... Movie hype
  12. I have a few books out of my entire collection that I can safely say "I believe" them to be 9.9. My submissions have never garnered more than a CGC 9.8. Of course I've never sent in my mythical 9.9+ books.
  13. Welcome to the boards. Great stuff and great stories. Stay a while and enjoy.
  14. Undervalued great book Always liked it I think it's a mini key Not sure it's undervalued anymore when fines are going for around $100 Can you find one easily at that price ?
  15. Undervalued great book Always liked it I think it's a mini key
  16. That has to be one of the weirdest covers ever, particularly for a school giveaway. What on earth is it supposed to be about? It's about understanding atomic energy. The story is called "Andy's Atomic Adventures" Gosh! The artist was evidently from the East and unfamiliar with the desert, cause there ain't no Saguaro cacti in Nevada... Was this story printed in a Classics Illustrated comic..i seem to remember recently reading it...the dog has to be quarantined before going home to Andy... I can't remember the issue... I'll have to read it again. My copy has the outer white cover for teachers to order copies
  17. The stuff in your medicine cabinet Doc, cures all pop culture enthusiasts ailments! How does a comic folded in that little Box get a 9.8. Amazing copy
  18. And here they be! Thanks for posting for me... Anyone know about the different mailers?
  19. I picked up a nice set of 1947 Cheerios series Y this week in the wild with the original Y envelope. Cool stuff. Will have to scan and post when I get a chance. Not the Y set on eBay being listed at $995 with a Z envelope.
  20. What a bunch of "packers" You've all officially ruined this gold mine of a thread for me. :: 10+ pages of cardboard and packing instructions in the what's hot in copper thread. Copper has died and investing in cardboard is the place to be. Mark my words
