I watch his vids and find that GA guru has done his part in trying to make GA visible to the YouTube generations. IG is wild Wild West still compared to the calming effects the cgc boards has on collecting. It’s one more spot to try to understand the modern and variant mania that I care nothing about but at least I can try...

I hope the procedures went well and you are back and running in no time Joey. Get well my friend 👍

Other then MD and OH the farther South you live the better. I just found my first 35 center in Indiana this year. The majority I have found are farther South.
At least in ‘75 we got the mini baseball cards in Fairbanks :-). I didn’t realize for a long time that that was not a normal baseball card size as a kid.

Those are the best finds. You want to jump and down, but cant till you pay.
So in all my I’ve never owned or found a 35 cent variant. It seems crazy but it’s true. So far from Alaska ... where they came out but I had found 30 cent variants in collections and in my collection back in the day. Only a handful but still...zero 35 cent variants

Bottom right corner might preclude 7.0

6.5/7.0 after clean and press

Looks like it might have been wet at one time and then lost some color at the high bubble points from rubbing. And then pressed to a Maximum grade ?

Full book all day long and so many greats to choose from.

I don't think Ritter is on the boards, but I know a little bit about his business model from our previous discussions ( I don't think it is a secret). One part of his model is to identify books that have upgradable flaws (certified or raw), crack them and fix those flaws (via pressing, or reattaching with tape, etc).
He then sells the "improved" book at the grade he feels it is (and he is pretty darn accurate, from my experience) and a price relative to the grade...
I've never known him to just crack a book and inflate grade/price...I've viewed a ton of these type raw books he offers (why pay for grading, as that cuts into the profit margin) ...he always "improves" the grade somehow...
It’s hard to defend the approach of improved grades but at the end of the day the collectors desire is to have all information available to them. Information is power when buying or selling.
Buy the book not the label is the key. If the price works for you then grab it. Return it if not as described.

After years of not submitting to Cgc. I finally submitted the two 181’s I still had in my collection. The Kodiak Rose collection copy and a more recent OO copy from a past worker at my LCS. Surprisingly they both came back the same grade White pages but different defects. Both show nicely and colors are bright. Pardon my fuzzy iPhone pics🤔

in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

I know what I grade this complete but well loved and eaten copy, but I know how much you all love to denigrate a book under 9.0....let’s see how you all😆😆😆 view the defects present in this ghastly uncollectible mass of pulp 🤗
