  1. I know what I would do, I would learn how to mend it myself. I don't expect too many others to agree with me. There are professional restorers who do a great job but $1000 would be too steep.
  2. your book is very valuable, congratulations, FYI the 9.2 sale is suspicious from "sell my comics" .. CGC 9.2: $80,299 (fake sale with shill bidding on eBay and no feedback exchanged) comparable sales are hard to find, it seems your idea of value is in the ballpark, I would definitely contact the larger auction houses
  3. the blank variants, which you have, are used for original art, it's an original 1/1
  4. what did the title say? looks like a blank variant and someone's art,
  5. Altlas Fan, You my not remember this but back when we were kids, 1977 I think, I traded two packs of bubble yum (no spider eggs) with you for a Hulk 181, haven't looked at it since, but you failed to mention the MVS is missing. Just got it back from CGC.
  6. But you already mentioned your hoping for something more then just a response.
  7. I can't get past the 6 months .... this was purchased back in May ...... I found the transaction the return policy was "upon receipt" ............. I would suggest it would be better working toward across the board selling standards that everyone must agree to instead of making examples of individual sellers and questioning their character ....
  8. 6 months is a long time you both missed it and if CGC's opinion is what matters most maybe you should have entered into an agreement that the sale would be "pending" until graded
  9. No doubt, in 100% agreement the buyer needs to eat his mistake.
  10. To be fair if a forum seller called that Amazing Spidey 29 in that condition "nice copy" in a sale thread, they would be open to scrutiny.
  11. Please do the right thing and not accept any refund for that transaction. Even though it isn't a "nice copy" the seller's pictures were clear enough to see the condition issues.
  12. If he doesn' t return the item "they are destroyed" are keywords for ebay customer support, buyer is hoping ebay decides to issue a refund at their expense and buyer keep the item since "they are destroyed" Just for the record in my many years selling on ebay I have had buyers complain about the "junk" or "garbage" or "destroyed value completely" items they received, I offer full refund, and relist the item at a higher price and 80% of the time sell it for the higher price.
  13. they've changed, USPS was at one time very tough with claims, the past several years I've had no issues
  14. When I ship high value items via USPS I insure the items with insurepost. The rates are cheaper and you there is nothing on a box that would indicate insurance was purchased. I have never had a claim with them so I don't know how well they handle them
  15. Ebay gives sellers a penalty for unfulfilled orders, I am not familiar with the site you mentioned they may do the same, you may need to research that.
  16. I'm not much for the drama but I was watching the original thread hoping Cal would get an answer to his question. Was it ever answered?
  17. VIA UPS I once shipped a large stuffed animal using a box that was used to ship paper towels, "Brawny Paper Towels" advertising on all sides of the box. The box got damaged to shreds in shipment. They shipped the package back to me using the same box but the the stuffed animal was gone but instead the box was filled with paper towels. Still scratching my head on that one
  18. I collect the toys that I had as a kid, I've been done for awhile, Big Jim, GI Joe Adventure Team, Slot Cars for the most part. Old Christmas morning pictures were the key. For hours of fun go to youtube and and watch old Christmas morning films that users have posted. The old toys under those trees!!!!!!!!!!!! Great stuff.
  19. per paypal: Signature Confirmation, if the full amount of the payment (including shipping and taxes) is $750 USD or more. This is documentation that can be viewed at the shipping company’s website and indicates that the item was signed for on delivery Assuming the buyer is telling the truth as a seller I would feel bad about this but not issue a refund. Buyers need to understand that there is a cost to doing business mail order. This is a dispute between the buyer and shipping service.
  20. Isn't the violation when using ebay contacts a sale is secured outside of the ebay venue? "Item no longer for sale" is a valid reason to end a listing.
  21. If you cared about customers faith in ebay you wouldn't start a thread titled "ripped off on ebay"
