  1. mali.antro - low-FB buyer wins the auction, days go by, more time than my auction indicates for payment-by, so I message the winner. He then informs me that he just dropped his laptop & can't afford the item he won now.

IDC about what happened just now, which I bet is a lie anyway. He had days to pay, why not then? I'd bet money had I contacted him the day after he won it, he'd have said the same thing. Blocked/avoid.

wenwen.q2ltemc - zero-FB winner, non-payment for 99¢ item. Asked if they could have it for free, "for my kids for Christmas". I don't run a freebie shop.

    Blocked/avoid.

Should've told him " Sure, free items are local pick up only " :makepoint:

  2. Is it an accepted practice for sellers to use photos from someone else's listing? I just noticed a listing for a Star Wars action figure cover variant lot that is using a photo from one of my completed listings.

Did they include other photos of the item too? If they are using your old photos, how does anyone know they have the item at all?

  3. well I just got a comic from an somewhat established seller (wild_rhino_comics) and it came with zero cardboard. Just a bag, board and floating around in a bubble mailer. Didn't even put "please do not bend" or anything on it. Somehow it got to me without damage. It was one of those guys who uses "free shipping" in auctions.

time to give them some feedback. Think I will just say "thanks" and move along.

At least you got it undamaged.

I bought from seller grous.v4tcof a CGC graded book that he shipped to me in a regular manila envelope without any protection. Received damaged and seller claims that he has never had a book damaged in the mail before.

I paid $18.70 for shipping and he shipped it first class 8oz for $3.56.

    Edit:

I did get a refund, but what a disappointment.

I would let eBay know about the high shipping fees. They frown on this sort of practice.

I sent the book back for a full refund.

When a seller charges $18.70 to ship from East coast to West coast I thought that it would have been shipped priority mail in a box with some sort of bubble wrap etc. Auction claimed expedited shipping. I didn't realize 1st class was expedited. Seller clearly was trying to pocket an extra $15.00 off of the shipping on a Buy It Now item.

  5. I see now that this guy is already on the 'avoid sellers' list. You can add him to the blocked buyer list also.

This pile of garbage won a copy of Civil War #1 Inhumans Bradshaw variant from me. I mailed it. He says he never got it. Ebay gave him his money back. This was July 2015.

He said he had been on vacation for two weeks. I mailed the book letter mail (no tracking). He lives in an apartment building. I assume the package would not fit in his mail slot, having lived in many apartment buildings in my life. I also assumed it was either left with his super, in front of his door, with a neighbor, or who knows what else.

So I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he won another of my auctions this week. He admitted last week that he had had "many" packages lost in the mail at his building so he has signed up for a service that holds all of his mail at the PO.

I shipped him the book (a campbell variant of extraordinary x-men). He receives it in 2 days. He neutrals me for overcharging him on shipping. He paid $5 US for shipping. I paid $2.95 CDN + tax to ship it. Plus the cost of the bubble mailer. Plus the cost of the other packing supplies. Plus ebay's fees. I perhaps 'overcharged' him by 80 cents.

I responded to his neutral to argue my case and learned he is also the lovely kind of troll who then felt the need to respond again.

For the cherry on top I notice now he has this listed for sale:

This insufficiently_thoughtful_person just hit another one of my Buy it Nows with a different user id:

Same name, same paypal account, same mailing address. I just don't get what he's trying to accomplish.

 thank you. Blocked both i.d.'s

  6. As a new foreign variant collector, I enjoyed the article on page one. I fall into the OCD category. Searching out Amazing Spider-Man 194 variants is becoming a new addiction.

That is labeled correctly. Mexico/Mexican When you search for Amazing Spider-Man #194 on Feebay, this book doesn't even pop up. :screwy:

Guess I needed to type in Mexican.

Edit: Is that foxing on the back cover?

He fixed the label. DTA respects the foreign the market as you can tell from his inventory. I bought from them a few times. So did you purchase? I hope you got it and i didnt let cat out of the bag for another stalker... no Pun :ohnoez:

No I didn't buy it. The back cover has foxing or stains. I didn't have enough time to ask seller about them.

That stinks.... Just remember often while collecting foreign comics one must reign in a bit the condition standards we are used to when collecting American books. You don't have to, but sometimes if standards are to high buying opportunities can be very scarce.... especially when building a set one needs to be open to any thing that can possibly add bricks to your set wall. Just an opinion of course..... you are well on your way my friend! Let me help a bit as well so you know what all is available for this issue!

All known foreigns for this issue....

WOW (worship) Thanks for sharing these photos. This is the first time I've seen the Australian variant on the top row far left and the Spain variant bottom row center.
