  1. greggy is a fantastic seller. Packaged the book with plenty of peanuts and bubble wrap. Shipped when he said he would and provided traking info and a link to check on the tracking. Great communication throughout this purchase. A true professional. No need to shop on feebay when greggy is here.

  2. That's what he said.

    I found some old pictures...

It cost me a pretty penny. I had to pay to have it shipped back to CGC, & then when they said they would have to regrade it, I paid for that also. Oh well, live & learn. I'm just curious if there's something like putting too much bubble-wrap on or something.

Anyone knows how to avoid this type of thing?

Probably nothing anyone could do to avoid this from happening. Too many unknowns/questions involved here.

Did the package get left on a porch in direct sunlight on a 90+ degree day?

Was it left in a truck/van for a long time with windows rolled up in extreme heat?

  3. Now I see the data. I got a 9.6 on that Peter Parker 64 - should have pressed it like you suggested. Not too bad for my first submission by myself.

Determine the price difference in sales between 9.6 ( little over $200) and 9.8 ($450.00+)of that book. The profit is more than the service and if you are confident in achieving a 9.8 then hm

  4. I have 120 books arrived on 3/20. Today, it's been 4 months. Still listed as graded.

    What tier?

MST. Usually, I get them within 3.5 months. To not have shipped in 4 months has been a change.

If you haven't called then you should. Looks like they are shipping April MST.

My 4 books received in April just arrive and I have another April invoice with 14 books that are shipped and should be here on Friday.

  5. A 9.8 sold for $1300.00 but it wasn't a CGC graded book. It was on FeeBay. The grading company had these letters in it BSCC.

    He is this guy-

Second Chance Offer was extended to 3rd highest bidder, received no response to offer or ebay email.

    Interesting notes about this bidder:

*Same zip code as the winning non-paying bidder

*Over the past few months listed a copy of Star Wars #1 CGC 9.8 and sold it three times. First two are not in the GPA so it appears to be not paid for results, third sale is in GPA. Caught up in the thrill bidding scam or part of it?

*Has a copy of Star Wars #1 CBCS 9.8 ending on ebay tonight, were they looking to replace their sold CGC copy by bidding on mine or trying to protect ending auction price of their book?

    hm

Then it will be interesting to see what happens on HA when the book is up for bid soon.

  6. Just a kick? And only on the A**? :sumo:

Hmm, the "spoon" left it open to interpretation on my first read and I had that kick directed somewhere else. Somewhere much more ruthless.

It seems even if the Charlotte Charlatan doesn't come through with the cash on this sale, a second-chance offer is still an option for the seller to the second- or third-highest bidder who each had very high feedback. Would that be recorded by ebay and/or GPA? Also, without knowing the high-bidder's motivations, I wonder how much of it is just trying to block other people from getting a book they want versus just trying to drive the price up artificially.

:roflmao: that's one way of making sure the book is around when you finally have the money.

  7. There is a discussion in Modern forum concerning the labels of Amazing Spider-Man 533 sketch cover from SDCC. There are different labels for this book. Some are labeled convention and others limited. They appear to be the same book. Did CGC switch the labeling on this issue at some point or are there two different versions of this book?

  8. I suggest blocking user samhunter09

This person bought an expensive book. I mailed it priority, insured and with sig confirmation the day payment was received. Messaged him after book was sent and when it would arrive. . Tracking shows book was signed for and delivered. He now claims he didn't receive the book and requested a refund or a replacement book.

Post office info says signed by H.H. but buyer initials are S.M. Saw a picture of sig and it doesn't look like anything to me at all. Impossible to make out any initials. Looks like chicken scratch. But the signer did put down the address number and street name that is clear.

eBay ruled in my favor on this case.

Turns out that the buyer's wife gave verbal authorization to the postal carrier to leave all packages on the door step even when sig confirmation was purchased. Postal carrier signed for the package.

Buyer knew when package was going to arrive and did not make sure someone was available to sign for this $1000 book. He messaged me the day it was delivered to say he was depressed that he did not get the book and tracking shows it was delivered.
