  1. Not slabbed but as requested, here it is. Probably an 8.5-9.0 but very fresh and gorgeous colors and page quality. This is one of a few magazines I bought from the collection a while back. White Mountain books are very overlooked in today's market but were one of the first big pedigrees that came to light and the books uniformly have a very fresh feel if not structurally pristine.
  2. My favorite L.B. Cole cover and one of my favorite covers in all of comics. A beautiful book that the tall man in Texas helped me out with a few years ago!
  3. There's only one Wolverine and that's the John Byrne Wolverine. All others are just new fangled attempts to reinterpret a classic. I submit the following as evidence and clarification for the OP!
  4. Wizard World Chicago is the best for Golden Age, Silver Age if you're looking for comics, in my opinion. A lot of great dealers show up with quality material like John Verzyl, Bedrock and many, many others. I always find great stuff there.
  5. Very cool stuff, Scrooge! Kurtzman is extremely under appreciated in my opinion. Truly an artist in the medium and unique in style. And the coolest signature one will find!
  6. And here's the magazine in question (not my copy, I have the White Mountain but too lazy to get up and scan right now).
  7. Now that I think about it, Foggy may be thinking of Venus 19 instead
  8. It's pricey these days. Years ago, I passed on a solid Fine for $500.
  9. My guess is eBay. I would list the condition and price with buy it now or best offer.
  10. You should crack that puppy and enjoy it out of the slab. I guarantee it's very sweet and the stories and art are awesome!
  11. By Crom, indeed!! That's a great looking copy!
  12. Especially considering they weren't very attractive books. They're grading of raw is a bit too structure focused for me.
  13. Well said, Pat! By comparison, I've got nothing on you when it comes to finding the good stuff!
  14. That last one does sting just hearing about it. My specialty has been to find and discover truly undervalued, cool books, buy them, have them for a year or two, discover other cool and undervalued books, sell the first group for less than I paid as nobody else has caught on yet so I can pay for new comics. Usually 6-12 months later, my cast offs get hot and multiply in value. It's a pattern I can't seem to break. Even when I manage to keep a comic for 8-10 years, it still goes up right after I sell. The only upside is that I mostly only sell to friends and board members so at least they benefit.
  15. This sounds oddly familiar... . If it wasn't Mr. Bedrock (and I'm not saying it wasn't because that guy definitely knows how to party), it probably should have been.
  16. Cool Books! I've always been a big Gil Kane fan. There are a lot of great covers for Tales of the Zombie. Some of Boris' best work in my opinion!
  17. My recollection was that he had a complete set of ECs but I forget where I heard it. The person I know that would know, can't be mentioned on these boards.
