  4. Going to c2e2 and on Nick's list thanks to the always awesome Felix. Cannot wait for the show. I know I want a batman sketch, can't decide if I want it on a batman 0 blank or art board.

  10. You can put me down for a raw in addition to the ss I already had. Got it at DanCon today in the Chicago burbs and I'm super excited. Was not expecting to see a raw there at all. Can post pics if needed (just trying to avoid getting called out like "pics or it didn't happen")
  11. Haha sorry, thanks. They do like the new squirrel girl though which is making me second guess myself
  12. a girlfriend you say? Haha yeah I've factored her and her sisters opinions on spec books before and its worked to my benefit. Usually if women like a book it has a wider appeal and more potential Jimmy that's some bad pasta
  13. I'll say it again lady killer is doing very well. I do have a few copies for full disclosure. My girlfriend really really likes the book which is usually a good sign. Sales of $30-50+ for 1 1st print. $35 plus shipping on the boards earlier today. Last time I posted in this thread about this book it was ignored, and it was only selling for $10-15 about a month ago.
  14. Dealt with the doc and I am very pleased. Great prices, quick shipment, and the books were packaged very well. I look forward to dealing with him in the future and so should you!! Thanks (thumbs u
  15. Wow I love the colors on that. I know some people have been down on the covers in general for being 1/2 covers, but I like the layout personally.
  16. I really need to get caught up on reading this and like 10 other books. Too much work not enough play...
  17. I hear you brother. You're shipped what you're shipped. I'm sure retailers would love 9.9’s on every book and I don't expect that either. I expect a comic book in any condition. Its funny how much things have changed over the years with grading. Not gonna lie, im a grading purist, but retailers are shipped what they are shipped, they can't really control which books go to whom on a large scale. The books retailers receive are processed and are immediately shipped to preorders, etc. Minimal wear is involved in this process. (I know most retailers are extremely careful with books especially with conditon freaks breathing down their necks with preorders). This isn't even mentioning same or second day shipping expectancies. A lot of pressure on retailers to not only fulfill orders, but to also give every preorders customer 9.8 candidates. Try getting any book at a 9.8 on eBay even when its listed as such, very difficult to do. Thank you Larry for even putting the phantom together and shipping everything you did. I got 1 set today in perfect condition from my seller
  18. Completely agreed, preorders and shipped/second hand books are always going to be a gamble as opposed to buying books in person. Many dont have an option to buy the books in person and "prescreen" them though. No con's around/not enough momey to attend cons, etc. I believe I put it a good word for local retailers, whom I respect to a great deal, but that they have their own issues along with online sellers.
  19. I had the same problem (cover rub) with an order I placed with Midtown. I sent them a picture and they told me to keep it and sent me another copy free of charge. Good to hear, I didn't try that yet, was just going to use it as my reader and give it out as a free surprise on the next book I sell
  20. I like Graham Crackers as well. This would only be the first or second time I've had any trouble with their packaging, and I've ordered quite a bit through them. Win some lose some I suppose. Agreed and that was my point that they are hit or miss, even though it might not have come across like that. It is usually hard for me to get high grade variants from them, never ordered via mail as I have a pull list with them and live close to several locations and usually just have them pull books for me and that is my gripe that even though I've been a loyal customer for years that they still can't get books pulled for me. I asked them to get me a Hughes variant for spider Gwen and they did not pull it, I went day of and saw they had one available and bought it. They are not my favorite seller, but the best I've dealt with around Chicago. I've thought about canceling my entire pull list with them and going exclusively through DCBS, but I like to support local shops and like the people that work at the downers location. Long story short, they are not the best, they are sometimes overpriced but there are great people that work there. If you live in Chicago, go see Jim in downers grove just to see a great guy that genuinely cares, that's something you can't find via buying online.
  21. Graham crackers, and I've been buying from them in person for years but in person, is kind of spotty on condition/pricing/handling. I love Jim at the downers grove location, but mail order are tough depending on shipping method and packaging. I just got my two sets of midtown variants, and they had the best packaging I've ever received from them, but one of the color variants had serious color rub along the spine. The other color and two b&w were in great shape though. Side note: I've been annoyed by the exclusives having a color and b&w variation, and usually prefer the color version.
  22. Prices on the batman 1 sketch have seemed to be increasing as well, might be one to watch down the road. Love the cover.
