  1. Movies are a gateway drug In terms of American culture, and it's default impact on the global culture, comics are right up there with the biggest contributions in the modern landscape. We have perennial characters heading towards 100 years of existence in Batman, and Superman, and now thanks to the movies Captain American has joined the list. The first two completely embedded in multiple generations psyche as cultural characters, known and enjoyed. The big element are conventions. Going to any convention these days, they are predominantly filled with young people, interacting with comic related media in various forms. Will a 100% of them turn into devout comic collectors, most certainly not, but will some of them, absolutely.
  2. I got blown out of the water. These two books are super low in census numbers, but they're also no nothing issues in the run
  3. No blue under the table in the last panel.. $1.99m
  4. Highlights, jump into the 10.00 mark, "this case as a close to a slam dunk as you can get".
  5. The thousand cris-knife teeth could make it a once in a lifetime experience.
  6. Gary was doing the home enterprise on these early modules?
  7. Thats a score! And thats definitely era appropriate seal alright! Even doing it by hand these days you'd have had a better finish
  8. It was a filter. Say if you wanted the "South Korean" package of surgery, they could show you the resulting look ahead of time.
  9. Damm!!! Great work here. Thats so distressing to see another key book dragged into this scam. Is this book on the CGC list?
  10. It's like modern comic books, variants rule the day. Take your pick. My fave..
  11. Do you have any God of thunder, King Thor books?
  12. Apparently Matt and the crew at CGC can determine if a book has a MJ insert or not without cracking an inner well. That sounds kinda impressive.
  13. I got some, but not as many as I would have liked. It was a good offering of books. I got a few from both WaWa auctions.
  14. This issue is as old as comic collecting itself, and has been in play before this scam was discovered. CGC was the cure for this, give or take 350 pages, and a dozen podcasts looking at the loophole.
  15. He raises some great points on Dave's video, and additional points around any price impacts on the books involved in the scam. He give full kudos to Dave and co for putting the interview with Matt together.
  16. I think from CGC's side it makes sense, IF they receive in an affected book, regrade it and make amends. And your absolutely right, we need a record of events, and not simply archived webpages as proof of what transpired. Thinking about the GPA side of things, some kind of notification against affected cert numbers, as opposed to removal from the database would be a better outcome for the CGC community, and their website.
  17. And a fat wallet. That would have been expensive layout before taking the plunge at a HA feature auction.
  18. Apart from GPA repeating themselves, saying they're just a pricing tool, they're explanation was a bit confusing if I use a weak yard stick on their contribution. So CGC will remove go the through all the effort of fixing the books, giving compensation to those affected, and re-grading the books needed. And GPA will just leave in cert's that CGC will be deleting from their database. Automatically, every other CGC database will be updating accordingly.. So that answer sounds problematic from the get go. We need a follow up @gpanalysis
