  1. The Clink. I just sold the same book there, so I'm going to follow the result. In terms of fugly miscuts I've seen, this is all the way up there. And a part of me thinks it's worse on a square bound book.
  2. One of the hottest books going at the moment, but this latest copy up for sale is going to ask the buyer to look squarely at the grade, and fall in love that above all else.
  3. Would slabbing this book be somewhat "over capitalisation", perchance?
  4. I was meaning what Lou paid for it, way back when. I've no doubt about the current sale, I'd be very happy to of picked that book up.
  5. But also the auction factor comes into it, putting a time parameter on things, really gets peoples buying juices moving. Josh moved to include the auction format after a long while of watching HA pull out great results, one after another. If an item times out on the bay, you know it's likely just to be re-listed.
  6. Thats a heck of a result alright! (stunning book mind you) Make those paying attention standup, what did you pay for the book, and in which year? My guess is there's a zero missing, and a bit more!
  7. This exact point was addressed in a few other threads, where auction houses got better prices than the bay. The uncertainty factor about spending big money one the bay still persists was the general consensus. The trust and reputations of places like the Clink, Comicconnect, and HA does count for a lot.
  8. Technically a 9.0-9.2. But overall it presents better.
  9. This is a bit of exaggeration in terms of numbers, but the sentiment is there around the X-men. They were well on their way to becoming a big thing.
  10. They are constantly changing the website lately, features, come and go, search functions change, but adding a "watch" function would require a wholesale upgrade of their platform layouts. I can't see them doing it anytime soon. Josh doesn't have a Scottish surname just for entertainment value.
  11. The final prices have come in, and my aggressive estimates have come out looking pretty good. The annotation on each book was never going to help the Annual 14 result, even with Comiclink trying to rectify the situation.
  12. Thats a sizeable chunk of the 68' starter books in the census. It's no wonder those books are some of the most tightly graded issues out there, the WP's set the bar high from the get-go of CGC.
  13. Submariner, there's more like 3-4 copies out there notated as WP's. CGC 9.6 to 9.8. Doctor Strange, I had 2 WP copies of #169's 9.6 to 9.8. Captain Marvel 1, only ever seen the two copies, same again 9.6 to 9.8. Hulk 102, I think there's 2-4 copies floating around, again 9.6 to 9.8. Captain America 100... I think there's a 9.2 copy out there.
  14. Price wise, I would have expected the $400-500 for a 9.6 copy as well! Thy pop up semi regularly lately, particularly graded in the 9.4 to 9.8 range. The DD's are like hen's teeth in the CPV's, for a high graded copy.
  15. There was a definite fight out on the 227. Nice consolation prizes though
  16. More CPV goodness, with some strong prices. A few classic Frank Miller Daredevils, but there's not much love usually for these easily attainable books state side.
