Your post got me thinking about it.

AF 15, ASM 1, 2, Strange Tales ann 2, ASM 3, 4, FF ann 1, 5, and 6 are the first nine appearances.

ASM 7 and ST 115 are both cover dated December 1963. Anyone know which one hit the stands first? A Top Ten List teeters on the result!

Good catch. They completely left that issue out of the Chronicle.

  2. AF 15, ASM 1,2, (Strange Tales 2), 3, 4, (FF annual 1), 5, 6,7, 8   and so it goes until his next appearance in Tales to Astonish 57 that takes place between issues 14 and 15. This info was from Marvel's Spider-Man Chronicle that covers every appearance from the first 50 years. Great book if you're a Spidey fan.

You're not wrong about The Rock getting dragged on his tweet about this.

The top response notes that Captain America's $370 million in 2011 is equivalent to $490 million today. And then there's the ones like this:

Yup and the first Avenger had a budget of 140 million. In his trying to rationalize a comparison that movie was successful compared to his.  The film made up for more than a third of its production cost on DVD sales alone. It was very profitable.
