  1. I have a collection of books , mostly doubles of some bronze age books I have for my son . I show it to him but have not given it to him. I gave him about 200 books (Commons) from the 70's to 90's and he does what your supposed to do with them. Reads the, Brings them with him in his school bag etc. there a mess so I just cant give him $10+ books yet. when hes 14 ish I think he might understand the value of them and then he can do what he likes with them. Its good to have a son who cares about comics as I don t know anyone else who doies ( why i come here). A lonley hobby.
  2. Couldnt agree more. I dont worry too much about grades. a nice 6.0 is as important to me as a 9.8 is to some of the other fellas. Its not about money. I dont get caught up in all the high grade drama. I personally look at stress marks and chip , bends or writing on a book as a good thing. Shows age , tells a story I guess. Someone read the thing , what was meant to happen to the book. a nice 6.0 has character to me. a 9.9 while beautiful etc seems to perfect , too clean. If its a book I want I will take a VG any day. Fact that prices are low for them is a benefit. Cool book!!! Defenders were great!!!! Dont worry, not every one on here collects in just 9.6 and 9.8 grades. Your 8.5 book is mega high grade too me!!! Bronze comics I tryed to buy in VF or better...Silver comics I had to go down to VG...sometimes lower.
  3. $6 each Thats incredible. The CGC cases alone worth $6 . Some deal.
  4. Got this a few weeks ago at a flea market for $5 . I almost purchased this 2 years ago at a book store for $50 so this was a good deal , 350 pages and it was never read. Maybe 9.8 [/img]
  5. LMAO . You got me there, I hate typing on these small phones and when I make a mispell I hate going back. I just usually hope no ones see it . Thanks for catching me there bomer-bob I think you owe the Resurrection an apology for a brutal reference of his name 'Reserction' ?
  6. Got to agree, an apology is owed hre big time. I actually think Reserction is being restrained as i would be angry on a different level . reading through those post show all the books were purchased. . PM were not responed to then to come here and kill the seller after he waited months. I would actually keep the money and burn the books now. ( Nah never burn comics just put them up for sale again). Eric, you owe Pat an apology. He has been more than fair by giving you 5 months to pay for purchases and sending multiple PMs about the books. He reluctantly and calmly put you on this list and he took the time to include links to the sales. I can understand forgetting about a purchase but I can't understand why you wouldn't reply to a PM with a simple 'what books' to clear up the misunderstanding. You made a mistake and jumped into this thread guns blazing rather than communicating.
  7. Honestly after reading some of his threads I thought it would have taken him 4 hours and 11 minutes after he signed up on this forum. I don't believe I have ever seen someone put on the PL 4 hours and 11 minutes after they were brought up with one side being heard. That is not what the PL has been or should be.
  8. Seeing from his post you could see this coming . Every clue was there to stay very far away from seeing the breaking of forums rules here. Feel for ya and a deal is a deal. Would be worse I suppose if you gave a down payment.
  9. Dang i asked before you and I got Squat. Guess they love you more then they love me. Again bored guy at work here. wow, that was fast, thanks guys, gotta love these boards. (thumbs u
  10. PM appreciated .Would love a good read as I am bored at work.
  11. Got these today for a $1 ( as mentioned in the toon tumblers thread) .
  12. Thank you, did not even know you can do that. Changed from 10 to 50 post per page. much better. Change your thread preferences in My Stuff. I only have 50 pages and it's a hell of a lot easier to read.
  13. Wow 100 pages. when a thread reaches 100 it should be closed and a new one started. fr someone just reading it today it will take longer then watching the Godfather or Avatar to read through this.
  14. Its kind of silly for Yannis to say leave Batman alone. He has a book that in my opinion rightfully belongs to Matt. Matt at the point of Yannis selling to Batman OWNED the book. Money passed hands and and agreement was reached. Yannis should get the book back from Batman not just leave and take a break. If someone sells something of mine they would have to retrive the item back. Batamn did nothing wrong BUT he should not keep a book illegally sold to him. Matt could take yannis to small claims court and he would probally win. t. I think people are forgetting that Batman has a book that was actually owned ( at the point of sale) to Matt. Again Batman did nothing wrong but it just like if a Bank acciently puts too much money in your account, you got to give it back , you cant keep it. I once got my paycheck twice into my bank account , I wish i could have kept it BUT it did not belong to me , sure i did nothing wrong BUT it was not the banks to give to me, Batman should give the book back , no question. Batman again did nothing wrong BUT if he keeps the book I think he might be in the wrong ( reversing my previous position where I said he should be his choice). And its good for Yannis to take a leave but he should still be on the probation list for screwing over Matt and it does not matter if you had good deals before, others have had it done to them. Like when someone says to a judge "I know I robbed the bank judge But I am a good citizen". still need to make amends. Does not make Yannis a bad guy. and he has every right to amend for what he did but he still needs to be dealt with in the same way everyone else is dealt with here. Perosnally I think thats all Matt really wanted with this thread , to get the book back from Batman. Hoping this thread would make that happen. Wish it did Matt. Ofcourse he wanted to call Yannis out but he wants his book. it is his book, again its in my opinion Matts book and batman should not have it. Think about if it happened to you. You pay for a book, have a agreement on the sale and then the seller , sells the book to someone else. Its Matts book in someones elses collection. My opinion only.
  15. Batman did nothing wrong IF he knew absolutley nothing BUT If I were him and got a book in that way I would sell it to Matt for what I paid. No loss and No profit. Ofcourse he does not have too and he SHOULD NOT be punished if he does not. That would be choice BUT the book is rightfully Matt's. If I buy a house and put my down payment down. Its a legal agreement and my house. Then the real estate company sells it to someone else ,odds are in the end I will win any lawsuit. A down payment and verbal agreement are key here. At that point it became Matts book on layaway .. Yannis actually had ZERo rights to sell MATTS book ( it was then matts book) legally , The book belongs to Matt. People saying Yannis should not be punsihsed are just covering there eyes. The book was Matts at that point. Verbal aggreement and money passed hands. Batman has Matts book that was illegally reseold to him. No blame goes to Batman but geez Yannis did wrong here.
  16. Yes thanks you very much. I meant buyer. fixed that for you,and couldn't agree more.
  17. Hall of shame seems the appropriate place . I really wish I knew someone with this book. I would move heaven and earth to get one for the original seller to make them whole again. Couldnt you be after a Nova #1 , Spawn #1 or Dazzler #1 as I think I can find a few of those for a good price.
  18. Why is it even a question. the seller while explaining his mistake should be punished. others have been for the same thing.
  19. Wow that explanation while tragic is ridiculous. Its almost as bad as blaming an imaginary slow brother ( but no one would ever do that). The family situation is tragfic and ofcourse all our hearts go out BUT that has little to do with switching the sale of a book from one person ( who had a legal agreement ) to another. Shame.
  20. Its one of the reason we have forums , these issues are a reality BUT like other boards I go to where things are purchased and sold ( even if off the board as long as between board memebers) there should be a dispute forum for issues like these.
  21. If i read this correct money had exchanged hands and the sale was agreed on. time payments. It is then an enforcable contract and a legally binding contract . The buyer could sue . Now were talking about a comic book ( but alot of cash) . this happens in the real estate market. you put a down payment on a house and the seller gets a better offer. He cant just tell you forget it and sell to the new buyer . But it does happen and these thing wind up in court. the seller usually loses as it is a binding contract ( agreement , money changed hands etc). I still want to hear the sellers and new buyers side. would be beneficial to them .but If all happens as said the buyer was majorly screwed. The seller should be ashamed of himself. and if the new buyer knew he should also be ashamed and sell the book to the original buyer for what he was going to pay and take any lose since he probally paid more as a lesson. ( only if he undercut the guy). Thats his punishment. the Seller should be known to the board as thats his punsihment. losing future customers. I would personally have less issue if it was just a "ok I will sell you the book" and the next day the seller says "forget it" BUT money changed hands here. Basic contract law. Basic integrity. (The preceding is only MY opinion)
