  1. If this is really what they're going with for their cast. And yet it will still make a butt load of money. -J.
  2. Lower grade copies, not much. The higher the grade , the more some people would be willing to pay if it has the insert. Also, check for a star stamp, no matter how faded, somewhere on the cover. -J.
  3. Stop with your pesky details already. There's people trying to make money in here. Based on an unsubstantiated rumour for a "first appearance" that isn't. -J.
  4. Sounds about right. Hell no it doesn't. More like $800-$900K. Maybe even a little more.
  5. Looks like he's a boardie too! Jerome Looks like it sold. Can't tell from my phone if it was sold for full price or "best offer". Sold for $2000. -J.
  6. And his numbers don't even account for the product placement revenue from Bushmills Whiskey, Samsung (Boomerang's drone; Deadshot phone when he receives payment for a hit), Dasani Water, Coke, Monster Energy Drink, and one article mentions La Croix Sparkling Water (I didn't catch the Joker with this). That may, at best, off set the error in the statement that studios will "get only about half of the box office receipts". About half of the North American box office ? Yes. Half of the international ? No. More like 25-40% there, depending on the country. And since most of its revenue (like most big movies these days) is coming from international , it will have to do closer to the 700MM to turn even a marginal profit (and I do not believe it will hit that figure). -J.
  7. Actually , the "PPP" method would be most accurate (if it can actually be considered an "accurate" way to price a book at all) in the mid grades , as it is usually skewed (often much) higher in the lower and higher grades. -J.
  8. Even with inflated dollars, it already passed up worldwide one of my favorite Marvel Studios movies. Truly remarkable box office figures (so far) for a movie that both critics (26% RT, 40% MC) and fans (RT 69%, IMDB 6.8) seem to generally think is garbage. But even at its current numbers, it is still not close to being in the black. Must be why the studio has remained mum on talk of sequels and spin-off movies. -J.
  9. Meanwhile the blue label 33, 2.5 looks to have poofed. -J. Might be transferred to the next CC even auction Or maybe a boardie bought it Reveal yourself Now, that's just being smart by buying at the right time........picking up a book when it's out of favor, as opposed to chasing it when it's red hot and the current flavor of the month. Congrats and well done!!! +1 Lower grade 33's almost never come up, and it was especially smart grabbing it before that 6.5 on C-link offically goes on the block. -J.

  11. There's another nice 6.5 up in the comic connect auction right now. -J.
  12. $700MM w/in reach Not necessarily I don't think those 4 remaining countries added more than $50MM to BvS combined. I'm still putting this at $600MM max. -J.
  13. The book, like any other book, experiences pricing fluctuations. The most recent closed sales within the last 30 days are all within GPA averages or near highs. What you don't see is sellers willing to sell their copies to lowballers, and one book not selling in a reserve eBay auction doesn't consitute a "trend" one way or the other. -J.

  15. More or less. But I would suspect that, with the last couple raw sales being in the $800-$900 range now, and this 9.4 copy selling yesterday... http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-23-1-Gabriele-DellOtto-1-25-Variant-CGC-9-4-Comic-Book-New-Movie-Coming-/191937649469?hash=item2cb0601b3d%3Ag%3A-xkAAOSwIgNXi76A&nma=true&si=xbID1M6Roi55pQZ3XgzvrSjCRBk%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 ..that needle has moved. -J.
  16. X-23 #1 still setting new highs raw.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-23-1-DellOtto-Variant-Cover-X-Men-Marvel-Comic-/232041722040?hash=item3606c3b0b8%3Ag%3AGtoAAOSwV0RXp8hY&nma=true&si=xbID1M6Roi55pQZ3XgzvrSjCRBk%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 -J.
  17. No longer for sale, I wonder if he pulled it or sold it? The 9.4 CBCS copy (different seller) also got some offers and was subsequently ended the same day as well.... -J.
  18. When I sold mine last Spring for $3600 it was the 1st 9.8 that popped in a year, so maybe with more copies showing up since then the amount of people who need it and will pay that much already have one. Also, folks could still be wary about the new case. I've passed on books I wanted with the new case because I'm not so sure that CGC got all the bugs fixed yet Indeed. And again, a copy not selling on eBay because it did not hit reserve is not a "result" and certainly does not provide "solid knowledge " of anything. Auctions of major SA and GA keys fail to hit reserve quite often in big auction houses and those aren't indicators of value either and none of the big players who regularly post on those boards have ever suggested such. They usually just deride the fact that it was a reserved auction (ie, nobody likes them). And if anyone believes that PM's from all the notorious lowballers on these boards is an "indicator of value" (particularly on a high priced modern variant) they should have their head examined. By that logic , books that go with no offers or PM's and don't sell here at all are worth 0. -J.
  19. Looks like the 9.8 was re-listed. But the 9.4 closed at $1650 ($400+ over the last sale and just $100 under the GPA high). -J. That 9.8 has been re-listed 4 times now without any bids. A 9.8 also just failed to sell on the boards for $3,300. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-man-678-CGC-9-8-MJ-Variant-Cover-/252494602002?hash=item3ac9d9df12:g:xmkAAOSw6n5XqmNj -J. Jerome $2,247.00 Woah. That's the lowest I've seen a 9.8. Looks like the market thinks this book is sub $2500 now? What's the last 9.8 sale? $3500. An unsold item in an auction that didn't hit reserve (not a surprise since most reserved auctions are shunned by buyers) is not a comp. -J. I hear ya. I don't bid on reserve auctions either. Seller should remove the reserve feature and just let the market decide. He may get more serious bidders. I agree. He had over 50 watchers in less than 3 days. No guts no glory. -J.

  21. I hear ya. This one just listed and sold in less than four hours. http://item.ebay.co.uk/322226642577?item_hash4=c00fe23a&LH_Complete=1&LH_BIN=1&LH_BO=1&_ipg=200&_pgn=1&rc=nt&rmvSB=true It was a 1:50 on a 23,000 print run, and there's only 8 slabs on the census. A relatively high ratio on a dying title (though it was a good read nonetheless). It's not a huge leap to figure there's not very many of them out there. -J.

Jerome $2,247.00 It didn't meet the reserve. Aren't reserved auctions usually shunned by many (if not most buyers)? -J.
  23. I wonder the same thing. No disrespect on that book, but I just can't see what would drive someone to pay that much. Patrick Apart from it being a Venom book, it's the rarest by far of the popular series from 2012. I originally pointed out the book "heating up" when it first started going for $100+. -J.
  24. Why are these so "rare". I would imagine because it was a 1:50 on a relatively low print run before X 23 was a thing. -J.
  25. Someone want a good 9.6/9.8 candidate? There's your chance!!!! And thanks soooo much Kuddy for selling me the book at 5 Jerome I know that guy. I almost bought his copy four years ago. He's an original owner. -J.
