  1. Is this directed at Kiersey Clemons.....? Or Ezra Miller? -J. -J.

  3. Looks a lot like "female Captain America" in most of the action scenes. -J.
  4. Its the return of Jim Carey and the Mask. +1 Jack Nicholson hammed it up in the Burton movie but he did it with a wink and a nod and he was in on the joke. Heath went the menacing psychopath route and played it straight all the way through. Leto looks to be trying to cut it both ways and it just doesn't play well. It seems to be the conceit of the entire movie though. It appears as though the creators originally wanted to have a serious Nolan-esque type film here. Nevermind the utter ridiculousness of most of the characters they opted to feature and the stupidity of casting the fresh prince of Bel Aire in such a prominent role. Then they release a trailer that makes everyone believe the film is fun and light-hearted and a little jokey. Then the critics objected to the overly serious, pretentious tone of BvS and the creators of this film, having realized they released a thoroughly misleading trailer opted for extensive re-shoots to make it more like the first trailer (thanks Deadpool). Problem with that is you now have a rudderless, mess of a film with disparate and incongruous performances by actors who look like they are all in different movies. This has been the vibe in every trailer they have released and it looks to be morphing into another BvS fiasco where the movie is 98% hype and 2% substance that will have a big Week 1 and a pitiful every-other-week-after-that once the word is out how much the movie sucks. Of course, I could always be wrong..... -J.
  5. Looks like the 9.8 was re-listed. But the 9.4 closed at $1650 ($400+ over the last sale and just $100 under the GPA high). -J.
  6. Rad cover man, congrats on the sig. I picked up a copy on fleabay. I thin kthe last couple 9.6s went for about $3,500-ish, so a 9.4 may be $2,500-ish? Jerome The last 9.6 actually went for $4000 (over a month ago). Balancing that against what the last, raw 7.0-ish copy sold for several months ago ($1700), a 9.4 is probably in the $3500ish range. -J.
  7. This show lost nearly half its audience over the course of its season. How did it get a season 2? -J.
  8. I agree, but the number that will come to market is an unknown. There are only 4 regular labels and two just sold. You could be waiting years to see more come out or a next week. That is an unknown. The problem is, it only took one other copy coming to market to significantly impact the value negatively. That's why you don't buy books based only on the census. There are multiple boardies even just here that are holding the book raw in multiples. And they are not the only ones. Jerome, I know you picked up the first 9.8 copy, not trying to rub salt in the wound brother. -J.
  9. In what way, low or high? Unexpectedly high. For a raw copy that's not a 9.8. Doesn't seem that high to me. Last two 9.8's sold for $2,432 and $3,650. Yes, that corner keeps it from being a 9.8. But, they don't come up for sale that often. Copies of these are creeping out on a regular basis. What this books goes for raw and in 9.6 condition puts the real FMV of a 9.8 more like in the $1100-$1200 range based on the sales of other similar books IMO. -J. Huh? FMV is what people are willing to pay. Unless you have some information that the last two auctions were shilled? Like I said, I'm basing the "real" FMV of that book on what it goes for raw and in lower grades as compared to other, similar books, not on the irrational exuberance of a couple of over-enthusiastic bidders on first to market 9.8 copies. -J. Again, huh? There are only 4 9.8's that are not SS and two just sold. We know this is a harder book to find. It sounds like you are assuming more will come into play, which is an unknown. What is known is what it has actually sold for. What's "known" is the "first to market" 9.8 copy went for over $3600. The second to market 9.8 copy went for $2400 a few weeks later. A 9.6 sold for $799 a few weeks before the first 9.8 hit the market. The last two raw copy sales were for $199 and $400. If you follow pricing trends of similar books, it is fairly easy to ascertain what the actual FMV of the book is, as more copies continue to come up for sale, as they have been. -J.

  12. you should check the census Hasn't stopped the Saga RRP from kicking it up a notch.... -J. And how is that a good comp for SSM 20? ....they're both variants with plenty of 9.8 copies on the census (actually the Saga has even more )... -J. So its a terrible comp. A much better comp would be the ASM Presents Black Cat 1 since it features the same character drawn by the same artist. And since nobody is buying these books for their content that isn't a variable you have to worry about. SSM 20 has probably around 4x as many copies graded as the ASM Presents book so its not likely to "blow up" anytime soon. I respect your opinion. It's available supply versus demand not just the amount of copies on the census. *See, also Batman 608RRP. -J.

  15. Is it me or does the comicxposure variant for ASM 16 look like another homage to ASM 678? https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-sprint-us&ei=gXaIV_SpNsTgjwPjz7SYDQ&q=comicxposure+amazing+spiderman+16+venom&oq=comicxposure+amazing+spiderman+16+venom&gs_l=mobile-gws-serp.3..30i10.3980.4965.0.5972.7.7.0.0.0.0.171.845.0j6.6.0....0...1.1j4.64.mobile-gws-serp..1.6.839...33i21.5TsXL3CmH0w#imgrc=bdkMJDxXXL4AFM%3A -J.
  16. -J. Yep right here. I have a 9.4! Message sent -J.
  17. A better question is which one of his covers will people still care about and still be willing to pay top dollar for in 10 years. That book will be Wolverine 1 (Deadpool) IMO. -J.
  18. So...this article is from May... what's different now? -J.
  19. I've been trying to remember where I've seen a similar looking 667 print before, and it was actually used in the Diamond solicitation that was released on the same day of the original final order cut-off for the regular 667 issue and the Fantastic Four 50th anniversary variant which was originally the only variant announced for that issue..... http://www.diamondcomics.com/Home/1/1/3/819?articleID=110712 -J.
  20. If be surprised if the next 9.8 was listed for less than 5 grand. They just don't come up that often anymore. -J.
  21. $1080 You actually weren't too far off. That's actually 30% over the last GPA high. -J.
  22. Hard to say. If anyone has it on their "want to buy" list on eBay this listing probably did not trigger a notification. -J.
  23. I imagine this has flown under the radar because of the seller's p!ss-poor item description ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/9-2-CGC-BATMAN-608-Jim-Lee-SPECIAL-ED-2009-DC-200-Print-Run-OVERSTREET-700-00/331895156591?_trksid=p5411.c100170.m2943&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140131123831%26meid%3Daf3761102ee042349b28e48841b9cb93%26pid%3D100170%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D331895156591 -J.
