  1. Why not. Everyone says whatever they want around here. Doesn't matter if it's true or not anymore. There's a difference between a know-it-all constantly barking at everybody about how they shouldn't ever attempt to estimate a book's print run, and someone repeating unfounded rumours that are potentially libelous. -J. Don't assume what I'm talking about, it's wasn't the RMA situation What I assumed is that you were deliberately cryptic with your statement for a reason. I therefore filled in the blanks as I saw fit. -J.

  3. What you don't get the humor in a person saying their collecting preference is wrong and rubbing salt in wound and yet that same person would tell you that buying a Dell'Otto super rare variant that only 17 exist and that its super rare and the print run is next to zero and only 1 copy is ever for sale and no one else can find these books is better than a TMNT 1? What the hell are you run-on sentencing about ? *I'M* the one who originally said there's no point in rubbing salt in the wound. The rest of that nonsense in your post is just a massive fart from your imagination. -J. Don't worry Dell'Otto stuff so rare so valuable me likely long time. Oh so rare! So rare ebay has no bookie! His stuff muchoawesomo! Better den stinky turtle! JarJar know he books is better den your books cause he books are better If you could see my sig line you'd realize how foolish you look right now.... -J. The last two of your posts I've read make you look foolish. Just saying... Ditto. -J.

What does your sig line have anything to do with it? You spend money on comics Why was it a bad trade? Let's hear your reasoning. Was it because you think AF15 is a better book? My books > books! Was it because AF15 has grown more since then? Irrelevant as at the time they were similar value and unless they sell them $ means nothing at this point Honestly why was it not a great trade for the guy with the AF15? Any day of the week you can buy one. Not so much for turtles. All of that was already covered in the preceding 40 pages of this thread two years ago. Old news. -J.

  7. Yuck. -J. thumbs down from you, is one of the best possible up votes a show can get Bonus points to anyone who knew what channel "freeform" was on without having to Google it first. -J.
  8. I vaguely remember the plot of 678 (though I do remember liking it and wishing the storyline had been longer than a two-parter). I haven't read past issue 3 of the new series yet. Sounds like I need to get caught up though. -J.
  9. Sucker is George Jefferson-ing again... We'll see if it can get to the $22k+ it has gotten in comic link auctions the last couple times. ...except this sale WILL show up on GPA. -J. How long until it does? Not there yet. CC isn't like ebay where GPA extracts the data daily. It's packaged by Metro and sent to them in bulk I believe. It could take weeks to show up. Also, if the buyer doesn't pay, it won't show up on GPA either. -J. I think this is the case I was waiting for the 9.8 IH181 to hit the GPA. I missed the results. That hulk 181 went for $13k and some change. -J.
  10. I'm here to learn four syllable adjectives and read mostly, I read modern threads much more than I reply in them. Though I will point out that I don't like posting with people who edit their content to make my posts appear out of context. ie - ruining the joke. Also, even though it is none of your business - I'm a Spider-man collector and reader for many years. How 'bout you? Why do you post as often as you do in this thread? Just kidding, like we both don't already know. So since we're playing Q & A about Spider-man 678 - what recently took place that was pivotal to the story in this issue? Yeah I did that. Felt a little douchey in the moment. Yes I post in the thread because I love the cover. Adore it. It was the first modern variant I ever decided to purchase already slabbed for significantly over cover. Is your question pertaining to Peter's premontion of the future in 678? -J.
  11. That was not a great trade (for the person who traded the AF 15), but it's water under the bridge and there really is nothing gained by rubbing salt in the wound. -J.
  12. Reasons why this is *probably* wishful thinking (though I hope not): 1) Will Smith is in it 2) Questionable character design for the Joker 3) No discernible accent for HQ 4) Killer Croc looks stupid 5) Plot and movie concept too much like "The Expendables" 6) David Ayers' extremely mixed track record 7) It's coming on the heels of BvS and near the end of the summer movie season (super hero fatigue) 8) They cut and released a trailer that was nothing like the actual movie 9) Too many characters. Way too many. (see #6, same issue with BvS) 10) Extensive re-shoots to make the movie "funny" will more likely than not result in a disjointed and incongruous final product. -J.

  14. I've never been able to figure out why you bother to post as often as you do in this thread. Baffling. -J.
  15. This is the third time the seller has listed that copy. Others were BINs. Good close-ups of the front and back, but only a far camera pick of the front cover and it's still in a shiny sleeve. Would probably do the seller better (or worse if he's hiding defects) to also include a front and back cover scan. There are very large front and back cover scans in the item description... Technically they are pictures and not scans. I agree that they are adequate nonetheless, however. -J.
  16. I like it for the Venom Bewbs. You can *almost* see nipple. -J.
  17. This seller calls this copy a "9.4" based on a small colour break near the bottom left hand corner... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-678-NM-Joe-Quinones-Venom-Variant-Near-Mint-9-4-NO-RESERVE-/291729567599?hash=item43ec6fef6f:g:cmsAAOSwpIdW7fuw But I've seen CGC graded 9.8 copies of this book with more noticeable spine ticks than that, and even with multiple spine ticks. -J.
  18. Couldn't resist picking this one up yesterday. Love the sense of movement in it and all of the detail in the webbing. -J.
  19. +3 I usually lurk here and save my schtick for other threads, but come on. The egos could be put away and you might actually learn something from someone else. The arguing for the sake of arguing is tiresome. RMA is a fountain of knowledge and worth listening to, not debating with. Opinions are opinions but at the end of the day, facts are facts. Don't worry so much about what someone else posts, worry about contributing in a fashion where we all benefit. And which is which seems to be a matter of opinion. -J.
  20. Oh, here it is: Wait! I finally just figured out the answer to that question ! The answer is: The "distribution ratio" (aka Retailer Incentive) has nothing to do with the print run. But the print run has everything to do with the "distribution ratio" (aka Retailer Incentive). Why? Because publishers do not routinely print books in mass quantities that no one ordered (see, e.g. the entire point of having a "F"inal "O"rder "C"ut-off). -J.
  21. Public or private ? -J. Either or both if you know. Sorry for the late reply. I know the last private 9.8 sale was for $1600 a few weeks ago. Looks like the one one ebay just sold for that. (?) -J. That is another of his covers where I am a little . He has better artwork to be had! Definitely going to have to disagree with you on that one my friend. I don't think there has been a better X 23 cover done to date by any one. -J. To each their own buddy. Personally I think both of these two are better (particularly the Cho cover): Those are fun but a little too cartoon-y for me. Campbell is about as cartoon-y as I like to go with my modern artists. -J.
  22. Public or private ? -J. Either or both if you know. Sorry for the late reply. I know the last private 9.8 sale was for $1600 a few weeks ago. Looks like the one one ebay just sold for that. (?) -J. No worries on the late reply, I was wondering what a non offensive offer would be on the eBay copy... Oddly enough, it was 50 dollars less than the top offer. I'm sorry you didn't get it. I'm sure with this sale being public another copy will soon follow. I really should send mine to Florida. -J.
