  1. Can you provide basic descriptions of the people involved in this transaction?
  2. That Jane Foster centric JIM page is the one I like the best personally (even though it has Vinnie inks). I think the blacks on that one look really awesome.
  3. Great story. Not sure why you had to pay for the last 3 pages. Seems to me they should have been included as part of the original deal and just given to you.
  4. One of the best covers of the 1990s and one of the best Batman covers ever. I said it before but I would take this cover over anything in Dark Knight Returns or Killing Joke easily.
  5. What is the biggest long-term goal you have achieved in your collection? Also how long did it take you to realize it?
  6. I think Anthony Snyder has several dozen Ultimate Spidey pages on his site in that price range.
  7. Really? I'm surprised by this as this and Nth Men are books I would roll my eyes at every time I saw an ad for them inside the book. I figured nobody read these.
  8. I guess that was bound to happen with a whole story going up. Glad I wasn't alone!
  9. Are there things that are super popular you just aren't interested in? Take value out of the equation completely assume everything is worthless. Just think about it from a pure enjoyment you'd get from the art perspective. Here are a few of mine. 1. McSpidey 2. Anything drawn by Frank Miller 3. Watchmen 4. Anything drawn by Rob Liefeld 5. Anything drawn by Erik Larsen These are all fine but I don't hold them in as a high as regard as most.
  10. JLA/Avengers - This is the second page in the series to feature characters from both teams. The first 8 issues of the Davis/Neary Excalibur (Special plus 1-7) The Lee/Kirby FF - I love all of it but this period from about issue 38 to 51 is among the best parts of their run.
  11. Those Typhoid Mary pages are crazy. The cover to her first appearance was sold by Albert Moy about 10 years ago for I think $8,500.
  12. Yes. I just fulfilled a goal I've had for a long time and got my first Jack Kirby page (Twice up, FF, Featuring the Thing with Chic Stone inks). I may buy another page at some point but it's highly unlikely.
  13. I just fulfilled a collecting dream of mine and acquired a Jack Kirby twice up page on the Fantastic Four with one of my preferred inkers Chic Stone! The third panel on this is very memorable to me and has stuck with me for decades. I love that it has 3 great panels featuring both The Thing and Mr. Fantastic. It also features the Frightful Four in their second appearance with this being the 11th earliest interior page to feature Medusa. Fantastic Four 38 page 9, in Ben McVay's Jack Kirby Comic Art Gallery Room (comicartfans.com)

I think by quoting a post specifically about Anthony in your post it implies that he is the culprit in this exchange. Also, there are dealers that are good people and others that are scumbags and I think people know which are which so the list of people this post could be about is fairly small (assuming it is one of the known dealers).
  15. The John Romita voicemail story was posted on here by Burkey himself after it happened. There were 2 threads regarding Shillgate at the time. I can only find this one so it must be in the other one (I'm sure somebody will post it). Basically when all of this Shillgate stuff was going on somebody actually called John Romita Sr. to inform him that there was a crook calling himself Romitaman that was ripping people off selling comicbook art. Romita then called Burkey and read him the riot act.
  16. So since these Larsen only pages go for around $400 and this appears to be Larsen only we can expect Romitaman to give the buyer a refund of $3850 in the near future since it was an honest mistake on his part and he didn't intentionally mislead anybody, right? Of course not because that isn't in Romitaman's character, which is to get one over on people in order to "win". Also, for a person that proclaims to hate Trump, Romitaman sure does posses a lot of the same traits and characteristics as him. You'd think after the John Romita voicemail incident (whoever did this deserves a medal) he would at least make an attempt to stop being such an unethical sleaze. Zero self awareness.
  17. Why don't you believe he would do this intentionally given his actions in the past (Shillgate, etc.)?
  18. They play that song on repeat 24/7 on their fishing trips.
  19. The total value should include all cost factors in my opinion.
