  1. :news::news::news:

I just got off the phone with CGC and they will make a post here soon guys!!!!! Our questions will be answered!!!

I always find this interesting, because when you think about it, does CGC really benefit by clearing this issue up? Not really. If they keep it vague, they get several more books submitted, which helps their bottom line.

Doing the job you are paid to do, business ethics, shall I keep going?

  2. Any of you knowledgeable gentlemen have thoughts one way or another on Superman/Batman #8? You would think with all the Supergirl hype hm If anyone knows the initial print run Id greatly appreciate it :foryou:

146,000. It was the #1 book the month it came out.

That being said I always pick them up when I see them for $2 or less and don't have any trouble selling them. There are 3 covers for this btw.

Also, you may want to look at #10 because that is when she first wears the costume.

  3. Exactly. A book like this brand new and not really a key by standard definitions is already 15 plus on ebay yet some great image books sit in bins at 6 or 7 yeah doesn't make any sense. Take EOW 1 roughly 50 k print run and I bet this Black Votex is around the same number so it can't be the print run argument. 2c

Not as many people read Image books. There are only 10-15 books or so every month in the top 100 that are not a big 2 book. Simple matter of supply vs. demand.

  4. Just went to several shops, and yea, all sold out on Nova 28, Cyclops 12, and Captain Marvel 14. I wonder if the last Guardians X-men Crossover will gain any heat from this (The Trial of Jean Grey)?

:roflmao: where there any Super Pro? those should heat up soon.

Trial of Jean Grey was hot for a while and now has cooled. A set was bringing $50.

First pics of Crossbones in CACW.

Time to start the Cap 360 Vs Cap 362 debate again..?.. hm

    Don't you mean 359 vs. 360?

  5. It's an old phenomenon: lowest print run books in a large crossover.

There was a Scarlet Spider book that heated up a couple of years ago for the same reason. (SS 20?)

    ^^

Most recent one I can think of was Nightcrawler #7 and the Death of Wolverine crossover.

How about Nova #36, last issue and lead in story to Thanos Imperative?

So what's the deal, are these incredibly rare in MTUs or does Sparkle City have some magic power? This was the highest one, but they were getting $40+ for a bunch of others. I just don't see this sort of premium for other MJI issues.

Little bit of both. Sparkle City commands more dollars than most comic sellers on eBay. They are kind of like the MCS of eBay.

  7. The Hughes covers aren't "keys" because of the story, as the OP was asking about. But yes, there are a handful of tough issues to find from that series.

Judging by the covers they look more like mouthfuls to me

You've got an awfully large mouth . . .

    tig ol'...

This got me thinking about her being in a movie. I don't think there is anyway that she could be in a movie with a chest like that. Women would go crazy.

  8. Boba Fett heat continues to rise. First time over $600 for this issue? So people looking for Boba third after Harley and Deadpool? hm

eBay sale - Star Wars 42 CGC 9.8 on 5-10-2015

I'm sorry, but what exactly was the significance of this book supposed to be again that is causing it to "heat up"? (shrug)

    -J.

4th printing of the first appearance of Boba Fett.

So chasing "first appearances" of movie characters in comic books that are adaptations from other media really is a thing now?

Speculators must be looking for pretty much anything to buy now.

Guess if it worked for Harley Quinn/ BA 12, why not this. doh!

    -J.

It is the masses perceived first appearance. It may not be correct, but this is the book that people want.

  9. The Spread reprint was the first I was aware of, so I thought that was innovative when it was released. (Was it the first of these?) I can see this getting out of hand quickly though.

Spread was about the 5th cover like this, but first in a while. Check back at the beginning of the thread.

"Here's what we do: We take the cast of Scott Pilgrim... make 'em older... and dress 'em in Derelicte from Zoolander." -Warner/DC exec

"You got it! That's why you're the boss!" -Everyone involved

    :kidaround:

Who is the zombie in the varsity jacket? lol Man oh man. Dump, dump, dump...

Scott Pilgrim? And you're making fun of a DC movie, Hmm, OK.

The varsity jacket is El Diablo. Let me guess, they should have kept him similar to the original cowboy El Diablo who was never in Suicide Squad because that's what would appeal to the current generations? :insane:

  11. To me, the coolest and most important of the "Second Generation Thanos" books have to be Thanos Quest, but in the true tradition of maroon speculators, I can only assume they are selling for cover price, right?

Thanks Quest 1st prints? Yup, cover price at best. Can I take some of that kindling off your hands?

  12. If I was sitting on a bunch of Suicide Squad material I would be trying to dump it like crazy right now. That movie looks like garbage.

Based on what exactly, a photo?

A pictures worth a thousand words...

Seriously that one shot of them all together looked like the oddball cast of a porn parody. But hey DC/Warner has a stellar track history...

Porno? Hmm, you're into some weird stuff. :screwy:
