  1. Pretty easy to get the thread going again. And I think it's worthwhile. So...get it going again! Start it off with Legends 3...I didn't realize it was cooling off. Why don't you post some stats there and get the conversation going?

Here's a stat, a book like Legends #3 will be up and down for two years. It fluctuates in terms of how much and how often movie promotion is presented to the media. They are only filming the movie now. You will see a couple more bumps for trailers and when it's actually released.

  2.

Geez, I had a set of those gold foil Dark Empire books for years, couldn't give 'em away. Actually, I probably DID end up giving them away.

The lesson: nothing can be given away! Everything is gold! GOLD!

  3.

That is the regular 3rd print, yes. The b&w is the 3rd print sketch. I don't really have another good example off the top of my head as to another time as to when they did a variant for a later printing, but so far I have 4 sources that say it's the 3rd print variant and I don't see any that say 1st print, besides maybe eBay listings:

    Midtown

    MCS

    CCL

    CBR

You guys know there are two different covers for the 3rd print, right? That's why one of them has a different UPC, to distinguish it from the "other" 3rd print cover.

That's what we're discussing. Some believe it's a first print.

they all got their info from the same place, who all got it wrong. It's not a third print. It's a sketch variant. CGC recognizes it as a sketch variant, NOT a 3rd print.

All the other reprints say 2nd, 3rd, 4th, print etc, and have the UPC 112, 113, 114, etc.

Why would this one be different and be an unlabeled 3rd print when another one already exists? Is there a corresponding unlabeled 2nd print too? All the other variants are labeled 121, 131, etc...

So when Midtown was selling them pre-order and new they put the wrong information on their website? There wasn't a sketch cover solicited in Previews (see CBR listing), so how did it end up getting distributed?

  5.

its the 7th variant, but usually the third print will be 113.

    Issue 1

    Variant 1 (as in non-variant)

    Print 3

so the one that sold would be

    issue 1

    variant 7

    print 1

Right, so which part of the UPC is incorrect, the cover number or the printing number? Edit: 3rd print would be 133. issue 1, 3rd cover (I don't think it matters if it's a variant or not), 3rd print.

I'm thinking the printing number because it's the 3rd Print

  6. Why is this a third print when the UPC code says otherwise? Can someone educate me on this?

That's not the 3rd print. That's the B&W variant that came out on day 1.

Hmm, I thought that was the sketch variant to the 3rd print. Not sure where I got that info. from though.

The UPC states it's the 7th version of the cover, but the 1st print, so something is off.

It would make sense to be the 3rd print sketch cover as follows:

    1 - Standard

    2 - Design Variant

    3 - Art Adams Variant

4 - Art Adams Sketch Variant

    5 - 2nd print

    6 - 3rd print

    7 - 3rd print sketch variant

  7. Oh also, Mad Max is an on-going? WORD?!?!

That #1 has only one place to go.

No offence but that remake sucked balls. Uggg such a poor remake IMO. 2c

    :signfunny:

this guy called it a remake. lol

Remake? Also, many have given it the best reviews of the year. blasphemous, but reviews are saying better than Avemgers. (I would change that, but I like my spelling.)

  8. Man, I don't know how many runs of Copper X-Men and X-Factor I have from lots/collections I bought, but the number's pretty freaking high.

I won't have a chance to look through my books until later this summer (we're preparing for a new house move in Fall) and by that time the speculators will probably be on to other books.

I started buying them about a year and a half ago or so.

  9. Arent people tired already? Or broke?

Apparently not. If you thought the Ms. Marvel hype had died down, this sat at $510 for about 2-3 days, then boom.

    Captain Marvel #17 2nd Print - 5 copies

I smell something fishy with that auction. Winning bidder had 62% activity with that seller and 8 bid retractions in 6 months. cough cough cough SHILL!!!

Wow, I did not even notice that! They have a high rating, wonder if there is some bartering going on. Bid it up, retract, then offer a second chance to the next guy.

  10. To truly research and debate a matter, the author must find and provide evidence which supports their theory. There's plenty out there...

When does the character "Kamala Khan" first appear?

Provide evidence that it is in any book OTHER than ANMNPO#1.

Neither CM14 nor CM17-2nd Print have any mention of any character named "Kamala Khan", although a cover image unrelated to the inner storyline may be interpreted as an appearance - but cannot be mistaken for the "first appearance" of the character "Kamala Khan" that is clearly and unequivocally seen and announced in ANMNPO#1.

The evidence was posted in the comments on your blog.

  11. Yeah. Are you guys living in an igloo or something? There's girls that look like that all over the place. Aside from the obvious cartoony style she looks like a lot of girls proportion wise.

    Where do you guys live.

There's many girls that go out downtown here in San Diego that look like this. She looks like a young woman, not a teenager.

Since I brought out the question: I am not speaking of more or less cartoonish style (but Campbell has something to learn about proportions yet, even if now he is a lot better) – the point is that she does not look like Mary Jane, and yes… he’s not alone in that! lol

Curious! How does MJ look like?

Maybe like you're not really sure if that's a woman or an emo dude?
