Spider-Gwen Phantom variant slabs are heating up... if you got them for cover price
You have this sorted by "completed" listings, not ones that actually sold.
Seems to be selling for low $50's to mid $60's. If the book cost $20, as was stated in here + cost of shipping, grading and fees, you are losing money.
the laughing smiley face in Lonzilla's post indicates the he was making a joke and pointing out that those Spider-Gwen variants are tanking...

What's most interesting to me about that is that I would love to own a Gobbledygook, but don't really care about any of the others. Don't get me wrong, I own (and am selling) Marvel Age 97, because I found it cheap. I would definitely by a DC Spotlight if I found one for $5 too, but I wouldn't spend $100 on that type of book.

Anyone see potential for the first appearance of the Dark Knight? This comic is really tough to find and with the crazy prices for issues 1-4 this one seems undervalued even at these prices.

Niche market book.
This book has been semi-hot for years. Its a cool book. Typically brings $15-30 in decent shape, and there are always random buy it nows in the $50-100 range ( as collectors in this new era tend not to shop around like they should )
The problem I have always had with books like this, or any preview, is this question:
It is really the first depiction of said character?
I have found more often than not, that the first preview/ad whatever, is many times found to be wrong later on, there is something earlier. These previews and ads are MUCH harder to research than regular comic issues.
I wouldn't pay near $100 for a book like this. I'm not the only one, that's why I said it's a niche book.

ah so that's just a shot of empty boxes......I don't expect to see mine till June.
Yes, the large boxes is the original order that was sent to him. Notice they had not been opened yet. They still have to repackage all of them for the orders.

Diva D,
Wouldn't it make more sense to take all these wonderful 9.8 copies you have and get them graded to maximize your money? Since they are "sure things" like you say they are, then you could always dip in to your long boxes in the garage and sell the non 9.8's raw as NM+.
Hey BJ,
I take it, you don't think it's a 9.8?
luv,
d
We talked about this before and I'm befuddled as to why I'm backing this, but I think it's more my passion against everyone "tombing" their books.
You can get $85 raw. Last 9.8 sold for $125 + $13 shipping. It costs roughly $13 to ship, so scratch that and just look at the $125. What's it cost to ship it there, pay for grading and ship back? Add on top of that the time for grading where you are not selling it and the difference in fees between the two sales prices.
-
Thanks! It's also an insanely high grade copy.
Did Divad just admit that it was an outlier?

I'm curious what the CGC notation will be for it. Anyone want to give me $25 to find out at WW Philly?
I could be wrong, but I don't think they will be that quick to make a judgement.

I hear Batman #417 is the cool book to have....
Why, because of the movie?
Copper book btw.

Can't wait to see the goodies in the next VCC!

I'm curious as to whether it tanks when people's C2E2's come out and the market is flooded....then again figure in the rabid Star Wars fans after the latest trailer and only 5k total copies.
Around 3800 copies preordered through the website and still only 4 or 5 copies at any one time on Ebay.
Wouldn't that be because this comic hasn't been released yet and nobody has a copy in hand?
doesn't stop people from pre-selling them....just curious that there weren't more trying to cash in as fast as possible. I've thought about it seeing the prices go up.
Some have scruples?

looks just like the Mask, how is that terrible.
For that exact reason.
Maybe he didn't know it was movie cover swipe month.

Interesting, I bought them the first day of release.
No, I don't own an iPhone, and I hate apple products.
OK, well it's not what I said then.

Sorry, I was misinformed, and rechecked, she was designated Psylocke in NM Annual #2. So I was wrong about her 1st name and joining the X-Men in Uncanny #213.
But she did join X-Men in #213, at least according to the wikia.

Probably the difference between the 1st and 2nd shipments. I think the rumor is a bunch got damaged so they printed more.

Anyone got print runs on the first 3 issues of Squirrel Girl #1?
Check ComiChron.com

I am curious what the ratio will be for the Star Wars #4 variant featuring Chewbacca. The reason I ask is because I remember when issue #4 was solicited in Previews and in the retailer price booklet, there was no mention of a retailer exclusive #4 so I had thought that the action figure variants were just for the first three issues. I wonder if for #4 it will be a 1:1 ratio and not something a retailer has to order 15 or so copies of the standard version?
Pretty sure it's a 1:1. Not a retailer though, so that's just what I was told.
I think the action figs are incentive based on how many of another title you had previously purchased.

When will the Figure Variant for Spread #7 come out? I cant find it on and of the preorder sites
Pre order deadline is passed as far as I know. IT was solicited a while back, but was delayed if i'm not mistaken.
The Spread covers have far and away been the best in terms of realism. The Marvel ones, while cool, are just not up to par.

Tons of sold listings on the bay.. Prices have not increased yet to demonstrate shortages, but the demand is clearly there
Again, maybe I'm missing something big about Convergence, but the Cap was in Multiversity recently.
I do not hear anyone talking about Multiversity which is sad.
PaxAmericana got really good reviews from everyone that I heard from. But that's a topic for a different thread.
-
CBCS is wasted money...just get them raw and send them to CGC.
The grading included signature.

17 left!!
Wow, somebody must have bought about 300.
-
Under 600
I didnt order any. I think the price is too high. Sorry
But thats just my opinion
Could be the right opinion. My thinking is that these will be valuable in the long run as it will be hard to find and will be an attention grabber at conventions and in shops because not many people will be aware they were available.
Until Marvel releases their version.

Hmm, it shows my second order I placed, but not the first. But I do have email confirmation from PayPal that I placed two orders.
