  1. Avengers 112 in 3.. 2... 1...

    :pullhair:

it's been hard enough trying to find this book, don't need any more hype!

Figured for sure Mantis would be introduced in GOTG2, not Age Of Ultron, so I was passing on mid grade copies for a while thinking I had at least another year to scoop 'em up. Grrrr woulda coulda shoulda

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/Bronze-Age-197083-/12590/i.html?_from=R40&_sop=1&_nkw=avengers+112&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc

Same logic I was using. Ah well, can't win them all.

  2. You also heard it here first, New Avengers 54 will be the next book to have (will repost in modern section) but a neat story if you are a Brother Voodoo fan as he becomes the Sorcerer Supreme in this book. Can still be had for reasonable prices if you can't afford ST169

That's a Modern and I personally don't see any reason for it to heat up. It's not like Strange is going to lose his powers in the first movie.

  3.

    It's such a popular book...

Mish mash of two fan favorites. I can't remember if the story is actually any good though, haha.

Cover is fantastic, the story is pure garbage however.

    That's what I figured.

    Popularity on namesakes only.

I did get my Remender X-Force TPB in yesterday.

Man, it's so good. Holds up just like I remember. I know it's been said a ton, but DP fans need to read it. He is written so well... Love it.

Probably the only Remender work I love. Covers are sick for that series too.

Excellent run on that series. Especially liked #4 where Fantomex did to "baby" Apocalypse what nobody had the cajones to do to baby Beyonder in Secret Wars II

Well, kind of. Did you read the rest of the series?

  4. After reading FF #642 I can confidently say that nobody is going to care about this particular issue or the return of Sleepwalker. And now I'm going to open up this super hot, black bagged issue of FF where they say the Human Torch died...

    Maybe now you will?

Nope still don't care. He was on the cover of Avenging Spider-Man 18 months ago. Why would this be "better".

  5. There are plenty of reg cover of that book around, not too sure if it would heat up as much as the variant but who the heck knows anymore, that fantomelle chick wears slippers too

    1st Fantomelle is #2

    Just sayin...

    Is it for real?

In a last page cameo thing or throughout?

    #3 states -

When there's an impossible heist to be carried out, only one person in the world can do the job: introducing Fantomelle, the world's most unstoppable thief, engineered to perfection! But will she be destroyed before the Wolverines can recruit her?

So I am curious to know.

Full LAST PAGE splash page on #2

    Maybe more?

    #2 1st Fantomelle

    #3 1st full Fantomelle

    IMHO

I do not like the name or the costume.

You and me both brother, what a attempt at making another female hot character that totally missed the mark.

Who is the artist? Her fingers reach down to her knees.

  6. :sorry: I'm only 38 but I'm bald and graying

    I'm not much younger than you...and bald(ing).

Wonder what the print run for FF 642 was, every LCS I asked either had 1 copy or non, no copies at midtown either. Wolvie 3 variants are impossible to find now!

It's been pretty steady around 25k. Might have saw a slight bump if anybody knew it was the last issue.

  7. Without properly taping bubble wrap around the cardboard pancake and then using packing tape on the outside I cringe at what shipping methods people would use and how many damaged comics would be showing up. Not to mention how the handling of packages are lately. A knife is a must to open a fully protected shipment. 2c

I guess, cardboard sandwich with the book taped to the card then the two boards taped works perfectly fine if you have an inch border on all sides.

I'm just messing with, I was referring to the 30 year investment comment. That was what you said to me when I was agast over the crazy prices paid for Shazam 28. ;)

Haha, been waiting with one in the chamber for this long? :foryou:

  8. IDK how you guys get any comics in a first class package under 13 oz. I've tried one book the way I pack and it is already over the weight limit for first class. More power to you if you can do it though.

I think you answered your own dilemma. I actually dislike packages that are wrapped and taped to the gills. Just as much of a chance of damaging it trying to get it open. You shouldn't be forced to use a knife to open a paper good.

  9. I'll get a $10 bill for it in a month...

it might be beneath your interest, but not mine.

    I like ten dollar bills.

If you have a brick & mortar, sure. Most on here do not. If you are selling a modern for $10 including shipping you must not value your time.

No one is buying these as a 30 year investment

Um, the people buying them for $10+ are. Why else would you buy some of the stuff at what it sells for? (Sleepwalker, cough cough)

Maybe the market has passed you by old man :baiting:

Huh? I actually have a job. I may flip a few comics on the side though.

If you're going to an LCS and buying a $4 comic and selling it for $10 on eBay INCLUDING shipping your profit is $1.32 if you are listing BIN. Add $2.79 to your profit if shipping is on top. A whopping $4.11 minus whatever gas it cost you to and from the shop. So what is your time worth?

BTW, nobody has to pay cover, we can all get Larry prices. It's called pre-ordering. 30-50% off cover.

  10. I'll get a $10 bill for it in a month...

  11. So what's actually going on with Sleepwalker (in the comics)?

    He's reintroduced in FF

The current Marvel 616 is ending.

    He's involved.

How long does one have to be out of the picture before it's considering a "reintroduction." As I recall he was in a few issues of Ms Marvel a few years back. (Although maybe it's longer than it feels to me, since she's been Captain Marvel for a while now.)

1 year and 6 months then, boom! whoa where has this guy been! This appearance will surely jump in price!

  12. This should be heating up in about one hour:

    detail.jpg

It's the unannounced lead in to Secret Wars & the END of the current Marvel Universe setting up Sleepwalker in a Psycho Pirate type roll.

Good call. These kind of issues always catch fire.

True, in 30 years it will be worth $8 like Secret Wars #1.

I can't wait to cash in.

  13. I don't know how it is anywhere else but I am selling a ton of the N52 Batman #1 WB Studio Tour variants on my site. I've sold over 20 in the past 2 weeks at 50 a pop. They are all over the place on eBay...in the 25-75 range.

Anyone have an idea what the print run on that book was?

It was selling for $100 when it came out. In fact, just to get one I think you had to pay a $75 entrance fee or something ridiculous.

I don't recall the print run but it's very low compared to what they do monthly. Like a quarter or less. It has floated around on the web.

  14. Right now it looks like it will pay off to pick up multiples of any BA or CA 1st appearance that has not popped yet, wait for a bit, and no matter how lame a character may be it will take off. lol

Moondragon has a GOTG, Thanos and Drax connection so I'd say she's a safe bet.

As for 1st appearances of lame BA characters, I have a decent amount of Woodgood, Bloodstone, Killraven and Modred The Mystic coz you never know

That doesn't mean that Moondragon is not a lame character, just that she is tied to hot properties. lol

I will pass on the Bloodstone, Killraave and Modred 1st apps - I sold my stacks off to a LCS a while back and they have been able to move most of them. I had 15 - 20 of each from a couple of collections/mini hoards I snagged.

She's definitely not "lame", and who wouldn't want to see a bald headed scrap fest between her and Nebula?

  15.

Better search term for that HERE

...and then you use the correct filter, most recent first.

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/Copper-Age-19841991-/165364/i.html?_from=R40|R40&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&rmvSB=true|true&_nkw=%22legends+1%22+-2+-3+-4+-5+-6&_sop=13

Then you see a book described as NM++ that sold for $48. What is NM++? I would think someone on here could explain themselves, err, that grading.

  16. Astonishing 25 Raw

Just in general Astonishing Tales 25 are doing very very well

Still?? I thought this was due to some sort of appearance on Agents of SHIELD? I dont watch so someone would have to tell me if he's still in the show. Is there some storyline surrounding him?

    ???

He was involved in the central storyline that (mostly) wrapped up at the end of Season 1. I could be mistaken, but I don't think he's been back this year.

There was a character named Deathlok on Agent of Shield, but that character has very little to do with the character featured in Astonishing Tales 25.

    (shrug)

  17. With all the heat to Scott Lang appearance, it's surprising that Avengers 500 "Death" of Lang has not taken off. He did come back but it was years later.

There isn't much demand for "death" issues. Heck, the death of Batman can be had for $3.

I dunno, those are some pretty good prices . . .

    Yea, great prices:

    Great prices?

    Really?

    Are you sure?

    that these are...

    great prices?

  18. The Cat #1 raws:

    one ringy dingy

    2 ringy dingy

Holy beejeezus - couldn't give those away just a few years ago. :o

Great book, classic Marie Severin/Wally Wood art. Was looking at a stack of them yesterday thinking it was a shame that the book was never recognized.

I agree, but I doubt I got more than $40 for my OO set . . . :sorry:

Well, truthfully, the book lost a lot of steam after Wood left after the first issue. But that first issue was sweet!

Was watching that #1 and didn't expect it to go over $30 sheesh! That tough black cover! Cat / Tigra / Hellcat, it could end up being a major key Avenger movie-wise

Yea, The Cat eventually becomes Tigra, doesn't she? There has been some specualtion talk of her in a movie or TV.

  19. I doubt this has anything to do with movie/tv speculation.. I'd attribute it to the "All things female" speculation of late
wonder if that will spread to Powegirl? hm

Power girl just got a reboot which I suspect will do very well with current market trends. I'd say hold on to your All Star Comics #58 for just a little longer :wishluck:

Power Girl became popular over a year ago, just like Huntress.
