  1. I cant give these ASM #4 away!

wow I have to opposite experience...I sell one, then raise the price and the next one sells immediately...this is going spiderverse 2 on me quickly

That's the first post that person made.

    hm

Big Man Plans Variant is a sleeper

Which one? I haven't seen an image for the 1:100 and the other variant is a little graphic.

I receive no bag board from DCB but they always arrive pristine condition.....then again they don't toss them in a flimsy mailer but a nice sturdy box.

Pony up the 12 cents, not going to get them any cheaper really anyways. Unless you're buying in a big amount of bulk direct.

  2. will we see an increase in Spectacular Spider-Man #1 since it appears the next Spider-man movie will carry that name? seems

:D not quite taking it to the extreme of, hypothetically, Ex Machina picking up steam due to a movie being released with that title that has nothing to do with the comic book

The comic had been optioned at one point though.

  3. Here's an interesting out-liner, Spectacular Spider-Man #27 9.8 @ $108 & 37 watchers. It's the 1st app. of Frank Miller's artwork on Daredevil and predates his run on the Daredevil title. Perhaps due to the Daredevil franchise on Netflix, collectors are picking up this key issue in the hopes..? hm

I don't consider that an outlier at all, just a nice price for a nice book. :)

I haven't seen that much interest for it until now (38 watchers now. wow). Hence my out-liner comment but I think you're right. hm (thumbs u

    Outlier.

Last two sales on the bay:

    $175

    $208

    + shipping

  4.

Are there more than a half a dozen Midtown variants that have had any secondary market value?

IDK, but I look at them more as JSC-drawn variant covers than Midtownvariant covers.

    :)

He does do a lot for them. The only mass produced shops variants worth less though are probably Mile High.

  5. OK, so sold copies yesterday are still all over the price-range for the Midtown Spider-Gwen variants. I have seen prices at $15/20 for the lows and $60/75 for the highs, colour & "sketch" variants respectively.

I have my two (one each colour and B&W) at $99 BIN w/Best Offer and barely any looks, much less no offers, and this also includes a regular copy.

    meh:(

  6. 35 cent price variant

Do they really go for that much?

That's actually a low price right now - I'll bet it pops to over $300 very quickly.

If it goes past $250 its not because of its rarity, it will be because they want to win.

There are two CGC copies on the bay right now one at 6.0 and one at 8.0. either can be had for under $400. This one looks no better than a 7.0 with the creasing to the Bottom RC on the cover.

    Ended at $177.77

  7. Avengers #1 is more minor than New Mutants #100? I'm sure you don't mean that. Whether or not the team members were better known at the formation of the team (arguably all of those heroes are huge now, but in 1963/1964 they weren't exactly household names either), the formation of the Avengers was a bit bigger deal than the formation of X-Force.

I'm really looking forward to the days where people stop relying on movies as the primary driver of a comic's value. Even if you want to rely on this rationale, the fact that the individual team members of X-Force wouldn't warrant solo movies gives some evidence to their relative importance in the grand scheme of things. It doesn't say a lot for the team.

Ha, no, I was quoting you in that the team is "more minor" in terms of appearance than the individual members.

Yes, much like with GotG, the individual members 1st appearances are worth more in most cases than the first of the team. But again, the first app. of the multiple forms of the teams also good for some nice change.

  8. Of course it's not in the same league as Deadpool, but you contradicted yourself. NM #100 is the 1st appearance of X-Force, who has been rumored for a movie.

Nobody is saying it's a $400 book, but it's selling for more than $1 which is what it was 2 years ago.

You're right, to an extent. #100 is the first appearance of the team, but that sort of thing never has the significance that first appearances of characters will have. So it does have some significance, but in a much more minor way.

You're tossing a broad blanked over a very specific situation. X-Force is not the Avengers where people know the team members individually. I highly doubt any of the X-Force will have a solo movie and therefore not the recognition as individual characters. At any rate, I would gladly take an Avengers #1, which has "much more minor" significance.

  9. Man, you guys stay on top of the market. All I can say.

I had no idea X-Force #100 was warm.

That's why I love these threads even though I never sell anything.

Any heat on NM #100 is doomed to disappear, there are just too many of them for demand to keep any sort of momentum

Seems to me I've heard that before

Sure, but #100 doesn't really have any first appearances to prop it up. I don't think first X-Force team is in the same league as #98 (which is also due for further corrections sooner or later).

  10. So, funny story, at least I thought it was funny:

While perusing a long box, I found a run of Swamp Thing and, lo and behold the Moore run was there. All the keys, 20,21,25,37,38, in about VF. I grabbed the whole run at $2.00 each. Then, I noticed there were two books missing - 49 and 50. hm I still wonder if a pithy young speculator went through the box before I did and was elated to find the 49 and 50, missing the forest for the trees so to speak. lol

    Coopers in the Modern?! (tsk)
