  1. I know. I really don't know this from reading any specific comics, so I could very well be wrong. I only go by what I have read from other sources. You would go broke trying to buy all these comics.
  2. He already is in regular continuity with Battle Scars. There has been some speculation of ramping him up with events that happened in the Original Sin storyline with Nicholas Fury (Sr.).
  3. He's nick furys son. And he gets darker in battle scars from 1 to 6 I thought he was born from a love child between Nick and an African American, thus his darker complexion?
  4. What back stock room have you been locked in? I bet you passed on a whole but of first appearances! (comic book preview mags)
  5. Since we know that Marcus Johnson is Nick Fury Jr. these epilogue pages describe a big secret surrounding him. It's not like there was just a photo of a black dude at the end of Fear 7 and I am suggesting that he is Marcus/Nick. As far as Coulson it doesn't matter which issues he was called Coulson or Cheese because he appeared much earlier in the Iron Man/Incredible Hulk/Nick Fury one shot from Feb 2009. OK, he appears in a photo. We could get into a Darkside type debate about this, appearing on a photo or on a digital device, or maybe even "behind the scenes" like Apocalypse? The one-shot is in the cinematic universe, not regular continuity. I had this pointed out to me about a week ago myself.
  6. Where are their first appearances in Marvel continuity then? The title says nothing about a first in continuity appearance, it claims to be their actual first appearances. Issue 1 is Coulson's first in continuity appearance but not his first appearance in a comic book. Nick Fury Jr. appeared at the end of Issue 7 of the Fear Itself series. It's not up to the seller to explain the story of the book and he history of Marvel in their title on eBay. A buyer needs to educate themselves. Also, if you're going to get that technical, issue #1 is the first appearance of Coulson as "Cheese". He is not reveled as Coulson until issue #5 or #6, again, depending how technical you want to get. Nick Fury Jr. is not reveled as such until later issues as well (perceived issue #6). He is Staff Sargent Marcus Johnson until that point. Either way, the market (and respective wikia's) have dictated this and we all know what is correct does not drive sales, it's perception.

  8. Wow. Not even slabbed. Would a 9.8 even get that high? For sure, well over a $200 book
  9. Somebody got shilled all the way to the cleaners: X-Factor #24 $137.50 http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Factor-24-First-Appearance-of-Archangel-Marvel-Comics-X-Men-1988-/171373124915?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item27e6a25d33&nma=true&si=fwTA7mMsG%252FBznsoug1OkyBpue4o%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  10. yeah, in the interweb/ebay market constant sales don't drive price increases, you need scarcity/supply-demand too. if sellers have an endless supply of these books they keep on putting up for $1-$2 then they will sell for that much. take a look at thor 340. a double digit type book briefly last year if I remember for a moment before everyone dug up their copies and put them on ebay. now it is selling for $1-$3 with a lot of regularity on ebay. tons of people are still buying it, but more copies just come out of the woodwork at that low price point. the cheap copies need to get wiped out and replaced with higher priced ones for there ever to be movement, sort of like what happened last week with B&B 200 where it seems like all the reasonably priced BINs were hit within or 3 days of eachother. of course, there still needs to be interest, not just a limited supply. And that was just the initial wave of copies that people had in hand. Now we will see a second wave of people buying at a LCS or con and listing them.
  11. Hmmmm I remember people crappin' all over this pick recently... Where was the crapfest? http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7827904&fpart=434
  12. Interesting, anythings possible. Edit: just watched that movie preview, not everything is possible. It's an old movie now and still has a cult following So is The Room, doesn't mean it's good or deserves the attention it gets. A TV show would have to be a thousand times better to get anywhere close to the story or trailers I've seen so far for The Strain.

  14. Did they also ask where you kept the munchies or pizza?
  15. Personally, I feel like he fell victim too many Limited Series. Never got a good run of books until later, which makes the earlier stuff not as desirable. Really hard to build an individual character base when you only get 3-4 issues. Secondly, you can't base sales, good or bad, on any one sale. Like I said, some go for a couple bucks some go for $30. Lastly, none of those are the 1st appearance of him or anybody else. If you follow speculation it typically deals in a hot cover or 1st appearance now days.
  16. Great, I realize this is a CGC forum, but to say that a copper slab is selling well in 9.8 is like saying a copper book in 9.8 sells well. Let's talk raw.
  17. Agreed on 871, 880-81 are nice. He has a really nice run of Batman from 642-650. Check those out.
  18. What Green Arrow are you talking about? His very first appearance, the New 52, what has no movement? Vol 2 #1 has had some outliers sell for $30, still can be found for $1. New 52 #1 should be more sought after since is the 1st Diggle. Issue #17 has been hot for months and is a solid $10-12 book.
  19. No, horrible. Deathstroke is basically a leotard and a sword, so not sure how that could look cheap. I don't mind it on the show. Don't see any other reason for it and the show isn't even on right now.
