  1. Kudos to ckb for some really nice HG Charlton's and for helping me get closer to completing my run of VF/NM Scary Tales. Very tight grader and all around nice person to deal with!
  2. When it comes to Horror/Mystery books, dark foreboding colors are usually the norm. That is why when a colorful cover pops up it is like a breath of fresh air such as Creepy Things # 4!
  3. This is my favorite cover in the Scary Tales run. The colors just blow me away! Plus it sports a cool "Ghost Rider" type cover. Calling DiceX Very cool story inside too...here's just a taste!
  4. I love this cover! Plus this is an all Ditko Ish! It's that old "KISS" theory: Keep It Simple, Stupid!
  5. Some Excellent Charlton's I recently aquired from a fellow board member! Spooky cover: does the guy in the background have a skull face??!!!
  6. HOM # 192 Details on this cover make it for me, you can still see some shave cream strokes on the reluctant patients head!
  7. Unexpected # 134 Always loved the colors in this cover!
  8. Do tell... PS: That's one heckofa nice reference shot!
  9. You are correct, sir. Don't know why I doubted myself, but I guess I expected it to be noted in OS as such!
  10. Just got some new acquisitions in today but hate to post too many repeats. I don't think this issue has shown it's face before so here 'tis. I was blown away by this issue, the three stories: "Diary of a Madman", "Abracadabra...your Dead" and "The Day Nobody Died" (Cover story) were better than any story in my new books that picked up today! The second story penciled by Curtis Swan and I'm pretty sure that is a Neal Adams cover right?
  11. Thanks Shiver. What is the other Ghosts issue besides # 17? Those HOS paperbacks are sweet, I seem to see issue # 1 offered up a lot more often than # 2 is. Was there a lower print run of the second paperback?
  12. Some Blue Ribbon Digests! Love the guy Kubert sets on fire on this cover!
  13. Kudos back at Shiverbones for speedy delivery and tight grading
  14. I wondered that myself but there are other covers in the run where the title logo obscures part of the art. I'm personally leaning towards oversight.
  15. Just curious as to whether it was an oversight in production or an atempt at a logo style change. Either way it stuck out like a sore thumb while I was browsing the covers on your site Shiver! BTW: Those little army men in the logo make the "Weird War Tales" one of the coolest BH logo titles ever. I always liked the guy draped over the "R" the best!
  16. I certainly do... snip Interestingly for what it's worth, this issue is the only one not to have those "little army men" in the word WEIRD in the logo. Just something I noticed.
  17. The Cal McDonald Mysteries/Criminal Macabre books were great! I also really liked the Cal McDonald one shot: "Love Me Tenderloin"!
  18. Sterling, are these scans of books that are to be auctioned? That is a sweet Unexpected # 129! I've always had bad luck finding a decent copy of that issue.
  19. This issue has one of my fav Marvel sword and sorcery stories in it! The colors in that dragon/dinosaur still blow me away!
  20. Whoo-Hoo! Ask and ye shall receive! Way to go Sterling on those Weird Wonder Tales! I remember as a kid thinking that Druid was going to be the next Dr. Strange! Unfortunatly I am away from my comics and there is one cover that I would love to post. I believe it is in the Crypt of Shadows run and shows you looking from the point of view from behind a skeleton's face at a terrified guy and gal. Nice books also to shiver & greggy!
  21. awe4one, that is a great book! I cut my teeth on these books as they were my first intro into the horror/monster genre. DC books came quickly after and took over, but some of those Marvels had pretty scary stories also. They also introduced and continued the tales of some great characters such as Man Thing, WWBN, The Living Mummy, Man Wolf & Morbius. Perhaps it is time for some Marvel BH to represent! Does anyone remember Doctor Druid?!?
