  1. Just by coincidence I was looking at this book on Mile High's site and said to myself..."Self, this has got to be the best "injury to eye" cover of the Bronze Age!"
  2. Wow, almost the shortest stint of a host I've ever seen... but then again... Anyone remember the host of "Tales of Ghost Castle" from DC? Lasted 3 whole issues? Hey-you Charlton heads---educate this DC guy on the hosts/titles you would collect first. I'm almost ready to enter the market for those. This link was posted by metarog in the See my complete Bronze-Age 35 cent variant set! thread Charlton/Modern Comics list Winnie the Witch from Ghostly Haunts was the coolest and my fav!
  3. Just going through some Misc. books and came across this one I thought would be appropriate for this thread. Sorry about the pic as I'm not at home with my scanner. Is this a cover swipe from a Golden/Silver age issue, anyone know? Artists names are unfortunatly cut off at the bottom.
  4. "You can check in, but you can't check out!" Oh No! It's RAIIID!
  5. Probably quite a few, I trust your word for what you've seen at shows as I haven't been to one in some years now. Just going by what I've noticed on e-bay when they do show up (and I was including the Madhouse issues) it's about 70%-30% low grade to high.
  6. Not for too much longer I fear as these books are generating interest among collectors. Especially the first two issues of "Chilling Adventures in Sorcery" as told by Sabrina. OPG has them at $50 and $25. Even so, I doubt they garner much interest in general. Still much, much cheaper than putting together a run of HOS or HOM in the same grade. Agreed, but to horror collectors who are newly exposed to these Red Circle titles finding they can obtain fairly HG copies for much less than the "House" books, I believe demand will increase hence prices will rise.

  8. Bah...that's not tough...I recently got a NM (and it was) from MH for $3. Jim Actually I'm kind of fond of this cover! The only thing that I think would have made it better is if Kubert "blended" the borders between King/Clown/Monkey instead of using those straight lines.
  9. Not to fret Pov, as there are only those three issues of Madhouse that are Horror Issues; 95, 96 & 97. The title then reverts to humor. But then there's always "Chilling Adventures In Socery" to collect also...
  10. I love these books, don't get me wrong but that's such a silly cover! "I tell you I'm convinced that hostile life does exist on other planets!" Uh, yeah, just look out of the window teach!
  11. ! I liked him in the sequel: Beneath the Planet of the Sserpo!
  12. I think it's about time 'ol Abel opened up a can of whoopa$$ on bro Cain!
  13. Me too!!! Virtually un-improvable Aww shucks...thanks BTW: Just a heads up Shiver, the middle .jpeg under your Updates & News catagory on your site seems to be broken, it doesn't show in my browser.
  14. I'm no grading expert yet but does that warrent a 9.4 with at least two rounded corners and the writing on the cover? No mention of pedigree, is it recognized as one?
  15. Whew! FINALLY got a decent copy of...wait I'm repeating myself...but ya know, black cover and all, it's a toughie to get in nice shape. Plus a cool spider cover!
  16. This is another nicely colored cover with use of greens and blues to create a spooky atmosphere! Like how the sun is setting in the background and the moonlight is starting to shine on the (visitors?) nice!
  17. Whew! FINALLY got a decent copy of this issue, nuff said! "Hey Hester, how's it shakin'?"
  18. The Contest sounds/looks interesting (I only had that tricky VOE # 21 to go when I refreshed the thread and saw that Sterling had taken the glory!) But since this is the Infinite BA Horror thread, Viva la Horror! Always loved the coloring on this cover, You have the whole spectrum ROY G BIV. I especially like that the eyes were left white on the girls and dog to show that "wide eyed" look of fear! BTW: This issue is the first to show the "kindly" looking Abel on the cover. I guess DC didn't need two bad bros. for their House titles.
  19. This is what I was getting at in regards to a contest! These are the questions that even the "seasoned" expert might have to research! Great example. I was thinking Ghosts too based on the art. Must flip through more readers...
  20. Sounds like a great idea! I also agree that many answers can be "Googled", not to mention all the "Horror genre masters" here on the boards that have the answers on the tip of there tongues. So as to add to the above suggestions: How about scanning a pic of a prominent character from one of the stories in an issue (human or supernatural) and asking who he/she/it is and what issue and title? You could score accordingly: 1 point for Character, 1 point for Title and 1 point for Issue for a total of 3 points for top score of a round. This would make horror fans flip through their reader copies and also discover some great stories while looking for the answer.
  21. I was under the impression that his full name was Boc Choy Foom!? Fin Pov Choy???
  22. Aww... Didn't you notice my slight cover alteration?
