and here's one I've had a long time:
-
I love duck books, and wish i had more...but I just got these 3 at a CA comic shop a few weeks ago. They were cheap (all 3 for $40-somebody was sleepin' on the job that day, or maybe they just wanted to get rid of them, or maybe I'm just a good negotiator
)...and I really like the covers...don't know if all the covers are Barks, but I don't care either...

Well, I don't think I posted this here yet, and since someone (Dr. Love) posted a Cowboy Romances, I figured I'd post mine too. YeeHaw...
We should change the name of this thread to just "Show your Romance books that look good..."
-
Not sure if my group shot made it to this thread but here it is again. Donating to the campaign against infantile paralysis earned you a Red Feather comic featuring Tracy back in the fifties. Even poor children received the vaccine when it was introduced. Back in biblical times poor infected individuals were stoned to death.
BB...that's a pile of promotionals. (thumbs u

Thanks for posting this! I have a copy and I've often wondered why it's not in OPG.Here ya go...not as exciting as communists dropping A-bombs, but difficult to find...and not in the guide. It reprints one of the regular issues (can't remember the exact # right now), with the lack of price and "Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival" added to the cover. The giveaway of Dennis at the Winchester House (actually sold there) is not in the guide either, but I think it is a perpetual reprint for the attraction...at least it was in the 90s.
Interesting. Two NorCal attractions. Were there D the M giveaways in other parts of the country as well?
Could be a bit of a disappointment for a kid to think he was getting a comic about the attraction he was visiting only to find out that the interior was an unrelated story.
Each of the books I showed have stories about Dennis visiting the attraction, but i don't know if they did any other regional giveaways.

Here's another Dennis giveaway:

Wow, I still own the only comic I ever bought from John at the Book Sail. I always wondered what happened to that store...well, not always, but once in awhile...now I know.

So...are you going to add them to your list? I say do it. They are documented as such from several sources. You know I have at least 1 Okajima book that isn't on a list, but has Identifying marks on it, and a Rockford that wasn't bought by World's Finest...so who knows whether these are MHs or not, but as long as there are 3 sources that say so we should put them on your list. Majority rules...
-
They are pictured on the comic book pedigrees site as Mile Highs.
What the heck...add them to the list...

Cover swipe from EC's Crime Patrol #15?
Anyway, I just got it today.

That's cool. Does your scanner have a "professional mode"? If so, you can adjust the scan to get a clear pic thru those slabs. I have an Epson and it has that feature. It's like having photoshop built into the scanner. Here's an example of thru a dingy mylar and then after clean up, and NO, this book does not belong in this thread and is used strictly as an example:

Here's one more example:

Almost every scan needs to be adjusted for true color, either in the scanner or in photoshop. (thumbs u

I think you'll have to get in line behind Gino for that Lightning...if I ever decide to sell it...
It's one of my favorite covers... (sigh)
-
I'm sure it's very rare...probably a Gerber 25 or something...
I bought it a few years ago from HHwolfman's comic shop. I liked the "from the deep South, Suh!" line. I thought it was the cheesiest book I'd ever seen...
-
I'm sure I couldn't afford either one of those, even if you wanted to sell...
-
Thanks. I wish I could upgrade the Lightning, but the book hardly shows up for sale, let alone in higher grade.
-
-
Here's a few low grade Actions I've had for a long time...
-
Oops, found another one. Who is this...Namora in a bikini?
-
I don't think so...One is enough....
-
I don't usually look for teen humor books, but I saw this in a comic shop last week for $10 and I liked the cover, so I bought it. Now I own one Binky...
