Dear Gator:
Who would you think should play the part of Little Dot in an upcoming movie, and will that raise the value of Little Dot comics?
-
This game is rigged...

1. Belfast, 2. Cairo, and 7. London...
Revised Order...what do I win?

3. Mexico City
4. Berlin
5. Hong Kong
6. Paris
7. London

Well then! I guess #4 is Berlin, #3 is Mexico city, #1 is London, #6 is Paris...and oh, #2 is so obvious...Rome...
And of course I recognize all those characters...everyone does...

Haven't seen this one before:
In addition to the comics in the window, historically fascinating for the signage touting the availability of American comics, biggest selection in East London.
Found here, the twitterer says it's from 1952:
The photo shown above was taken by British artist and documentary photographer Nigel Henderson in Bethnal Green in the east end of London probably around 1951 or 1952.
He lived in Bethnal Green from 1949 to 1952 and took documentary photos of the neighborhood.
As you can see there are various American comics from 1948 to 1951: Dale Evans 14, Crime Patrol 12, Superboy 7, Capt Marvel Jr 61, Jungle 133, Wambi 9, Western True Crime 4 & 5.
American comics were very popular outside the United States and different countries had their favorites.
Can you guess the country outside America and the major city from each of the following pictures?
Also identify all the American comic characters, the exact foreign issues or the equivalent American issues if possible in these pictures. Answers in a several days.
Some of you might have seen a few of these pictures before.
1. at a train station
2. at a street swap
3. 1950s street newsstand and closeup view
4. 1959 reader
5. renting comics
6. sideburns
7. foreign newsstand
OK, I'll play...
1. Belfast
2. Cairo
3. Mexico City
4. Berlin
5. Hong Kong
6. Paris
7. London

Speaking of burning warehouse finds...if I ever found 1,000 Action #1s in a warehouse I'd immediately burn 900 of them...then I would sell the others for $200,000 each...but only 25 a year, wouldn't want to be in too high a tax bracket...

Dr., is there ANYTHING you don't have?
Everything in your tag line, Brian. For starters!
and Sagii, I know what you mean - it is laborious. On paper it seems manageable - one book or two a day, what's the big deal. In reality...mas tiempo.
On the other hand, I'm tired of digging my promos by myself. My wife thinks they're faintly amusing, but certainly not worth the money. Or any money, to be exact. That leaves me with the sound of one hand clapping, or get off my azz.
Oh, so? Not even the 4 Bakers in the line? I find that hard to believe...

OK...here it is...the best giveaway comic cover ever! Unfortunately, everyone has a NM copy...
Not this Porcupine....Brian,anyone,some info?Help to find one?
Jimmers
EBAY!...I like the guy who calls it Scarce...when there's 29 of them on there and one lot is for 12 issues for $34... I think we should buy all of them, burn them, and make this a truly scarce book...
Porky, even YOU can afford this book....

I've got a kinda beat VGish copy. Not many people can say that!
It's probably worth 5 times what a NM copy is worth...

This one is not considered a promo, but it was given to school children after the schools purchased it. I've posted it before...but I really like it:
That has to be one of the weirdest covers ever, particularly for a school giveaway. What on earth is it supposed to be about?
It's about understanding atomic energy. The story is called "Andy's Atomic Adventures" Gosh! The artist was evidently from the East and unfamiliar with the desert, cause there ain't no Saguaro cacti in Nevada...

I love duck books, and wish i had more...but I just got these 3 at a CA comic shop a few weeks ago. They were cheap (all 3 for $40-somebody was sleepin' on the job that day, or maybe they just wanted to get rid of them, or maybe I'm just a good negotiator )...and I really like the covers...don't know if all the covers are Barks, but I don't care either...
Nice books. All three covers are by Barks. He did most of the WDC&S covers during that period.
Yep, and #140 has the first Gyro Gearloose. (thumbs u
And it's the 3rd Uncle Scrooge cover too. (thumbs u (thumbs u
Here's the 1st Scrooge cover:
