Do you want a VG- #1? I know where one is...for $65, or a VG+ for $60...in fact, there are 6 of them on eBay right now...doesn't sound too scarce to me.
-
Was that in ref. to a book in my sig line?
-
Who's the woman in the back seat? Is that guy a polygamist?
-
Ummmm....ham-burger...

I will gladly give you $100 Tuesday, for your undercopy today...

I don't think it's that great a cover. I would pay maybe $25 for one. Let's have a debate.
-
Why is the usual Baker detail lacking in that cover? I don't doubt that at least part of it is Matt's work, but it just seems so sterile compared to the WR17 and other books.
-
No...did you?

OK, I checked the romance book. No date stamp, and on the first page someone wrote $1.00 in pencil. Guess it isn't an Okajima...
I'm sure that will anger and upset many of you, but...as a consolation I might post all my Cookeville books here...

I share the thrill of the information chase too. However, harruummpphh, I know the dealer in question, know his lack of GA books at the time, and know he knows Ron Murray well. The time coincidence, his statement, and wartime book make it look pretty good for being a ped. Just to play your devil's advocate game back at you...heh, heh At this point, until I talk to Ron in person, I consider it an unmarked Okajima. It will be sold as such on a board near you someday...
Now, all this speculation makes me wonder about this book...bought at same time, same place...same GA time period as the All-New, and she did have at least one Western, 2 Venus', and a Movie Comic...so...hmmm?
cant decide if you're being serious or cheeky... either way...
I wouldnt consider the All New and the Western Romance to be the "same GA time period" as far as this pedigree is concerned.
'45 was a transition year (from camp to moving around) there's a case to be made for inconsistancy in marking.
But by 49 she was well into her established pedigree markings of front cover distributor marks (F or T typically with a number, all often found in pencil in the uppper left area of the book, typically inside the title letters), and by 49 she was using her own date stamp on the back of the books.
Cheeky? I say, are you British?
Sorry about the date comment...I was thinking of the Rulah book. Dang, now i have to look at the back cover of that romance book and see if it has a date stamp...oh well, back to the bunker...

I think if it was HIS book, it would have been done 5 years ago...Matt evidently doesn't know the author's secret to finishing a book...you have to write something every day, or it never gets done. If you wait until you have the time, you will NEVER have the time. You have to MAKE the time.

He uploaded a bunch of Larson's too...what a guy...

Yer a funny guy...
In other news, there are a bunch of new Okajima scans at the pedigree comics website.
http://www.comicbookpedigrees.com/new.php
It appears that someone has been swiping scans off these boards and adding them there. What a scoundrel...

Thanks. I wasn't even looking for a western romance book, but the pickins were so slim on his wall, and I thought it looked like a candidate for an Oddball cover, so I spent $20.

Here's mine, and i assure you no one has pharted on it:

So I done a good thing, huh? Good. Thanks. There are very few non-Baker books I like, and the list just got shorter. There were 3 people "watching" one of those books, so I messaged the seller and proposed a 25% discount for both ($60). He countered with $65 for both. I took it. I figured I couldn't go wrong, especially since I liked the covers a lot.

People.... it's here and it's BEAUTIFUL!!!
I just grabbed the closest comic I had nearby so that you could see the size of it for a comparison. The stock is thick and glossy which makes the colors jump off the page. Here's the "thank you" section (I'm Jamie, BTW):
What are the odds that there would be 3 Brian's and one of the others names would have to be right next to mine...
Looks nice, can't wait to get mine.
