No foul contacting the known collectors..it's just if they will respond Actually the only thing that I think is frowned upon is asking someone to pull an active auction on ebay for a side deal... since most of the club snipes anyway. Another rule was that the openly listed variants were a free-fro-all unless you had made a deal with some other folks. But the "hidden" variants were not to be outed on here until after the end of the auction. I checked your list and saw very few if any I could improve upon with a dupe of mine I was going to sell. My inventory of dupes has been culled to slab candidates and stuff I need to still upgrade myself The presence of my Top Census copies is slowly dissipating with each convention and on-site grading - just check and see 3 Top Census variants up on ebay now from Chicago

Isn't it always in the $3500 range? I think some other members have seen it at other shows where they are selling and Terry - I did not go to Chicago

Star wars 1 variant I can't make up my mind. If it is truly a VF then it is a steal. there are just so many doubts keeping me from hitting that BIN...it's been up for days...maybe all the buyers are in Chicago? Anyone have thoughts or prior dealings with this seller?

Not secretive at all, so welcome to the club and on the con finds. Being a former associate of lighthouse, I'm surprised he didn't fill you in on these, as he has collected and sold a couple hundred in his time. I'm glad to see more variant collectors come in on here and several new attempts at the whole collection being made by forumites. I was approached by ebay id manofmetal for Iron man 30 centers and would welcome any of you who may have dupes to offer him to feel free and contact him or me. I think he'd be pretty interested in sharing on here how he accumulated his entire Iron Man collection including Tales of Suspense....

And if you really are looking to start the 30 cent set, now is a good time... you've got plenty of board members that have dupes for sale, and I've been auctioning mine off at giveaway prices compared to what I paid for 'em

I've been tracking them since late 2002 and yes 30 cent prices are down for mid- and low grade "commons" and prices are down on some low grade 35 centers as well but still over $20; the surprising figures as of late are the $200+ on certain copies that I thought Glenn, Terry, Derek and Sandro ALL had in high grade already; so I was taken by surprise a bit on high recent ending prices...just when you thought it was safe to start collecting 35 centers As for the double cover 35 center, it WILL NOT BE split up to be resold as two... IMO, 35 centers like Ms Marvel, John Carter WOM, Eternals, Invaders, HOward the Duck are probably going to be the ones to dip in price first. They are fairly common and most of the big boys probably already have high grade copies, so unless they are hoarding (even if they are, there comes a price point where it's no longer worth hoarding at)
