  1. Yes Shadroch - right on! I'm voting for the Braveheart ending with someone getting emasculated and eviscerated, then drawn and quartered...or maybe a Double Action 2 getting trimmed and color touched in front of a public gathering of CGC forumites all weeping and averting their eyes from the "bloodshed"!
  2. ...send it Fed Ex or UPS - I hate to see THAT post from Ian if USPS loses it or God forbid it gets delayed at customs
  3. Eventually but not first. The Vegas line favors Christine heavily on this one and my money is on her...
  4. I'd like to build on this and see a method to Ian's madness... "maybe if I whine and complain enough about how Jeremy (buenavista) and Glenn (4gemworks) and Paul (silverandbronze) have the remaining 5 books that I need to complete my 30 cent MArvel Price variant collection, the forumites will take my side and put enough pressure on them to sell the remaining books to me or better yet, I should direct them all to the one who put the variant "wheels in motion", the one and only Flying Donut (Ron Jeremy)
  5. Who the hell else is gonna pay 10x guide for it? the other DC collectors in Ian's elite company who are going for the full run of DCs as well. As for the dealer who sold the book, they should have sold it to Ian for 10x guide in the first place - or even 5x guide if that's what Ian offered initially. Is it truly necessary to squeeze every last dime of profit out of every book? Why? Isn't it acceptable to look out for your best interest? Even if it means squeezing every last $$ out of this deal? When it comes to books this scarce, you HAD best get everyone you can involved and cover yourself so that no one takes advantage of you. Especially a lowball offer...
  6. I hope you weren't calling my son Logan an insufficiently_thoughtful_person
  7. Ditto - I'm still waiting for a Metro pic with Vince holding all his copies of Double Action 2, but now Vince needs to get into a Batman or Superman costume
  8. There may be some truth in that. My boy has a voracious appetite as anyone at yesterday's Gaithersburg lunch can attest to... he can sure pack it away Fear not, I'll be updating soon
  9. Thank you! Welcome to the boards Jamie and I'm glad to deal once again overseas!
  10. 2) Godzilla junk (thankfully which I'm pretty much complete on) I remember back in 1977 or 1978, I got a 2 foot Godzilla that spit fire (a motorized lighter mechanism in its mouth would give off sparks) - I was 3 and I cried when I saw it so my parents took it away and returned it and came back with a Voltes V (Mazinger - style robot) with a fist that shot off and I used it to terrorize my little sister in later years...
  11. Kudos to Joe_collector for a well packaged (egg-crate foam you use on your guest room mattress and a hard carton "sandwich"!) 35 cent Marvel Price variant deal sent from the wilds of Canada! Joe even sprung for Expresspost = USPS priority mail out of his own pocket to get it to me quicker! 7 days from Canada to Virginia! Thanks again from a fellow Price Variant collector and for the surprise 30 cent variant as well!
  12. Belated Kudos to: Todd - the UBIQUITI-ous one! FOR A GORGEOUS DD7 - my highest graded copy of that book and asesome X-men books even a free Neal Adams cover! Todd has hooked me up, many a time over on this board buying and selling and trading, on and off eBay! It is always great dealing with CGC forum members and Todd here is among the tops! Total Class act all the way! Den Mother Joanna! Great Sweet sweet DCs and sweet Sweet Xena cards and pics! Those B & W photos are absolutely the best. Thank you for the extras!!! MR. Bill the WOOGIEMAN! for some AWESOME books for my ASM and X-men run! Accurately graded, packed superbly and threw in an extra silver ASM! What a guy! Glad to do business again, Bill...be glad to win from you again! DICEX - whose package I had just opened - sent me a gorgeous Danger Girl 1 CGC 9.6 chromium (ironically replacing the one I just sold last weekend ) Super fast shipping and easy to deal with! Glad I could buy this book from you! I think you may be the next in line afer Scottish for the Smokehouse pedigree designation
  13. Yes but if they're selling on e-bay, it's unlikely they'd be on these boards, as if they were, they would have already offered me the comic for sale. What if the seller didn't care much for your quest or was someone you "ticked" off in the past with your "hardcore-go-get-'em" brusque manner...this previous statement sort of exemplifies that...someone put up the "we're not worthy" emoticon please I don't collect DC's much less older books... waste of my time and money IMO...if I found one, I might get Metro or another big dealer involved as I can do without the drama of dealing with you directly and may be more equipped to deal with your idiosyncracies
  14. My Atari 2600 Centipede cartridge came with a comic. It was pretty cool!
  15. Thanks for the SWEET Silver X-men's, Todd! They were well worth the trade for that DEfenders 10 - I hope you are enjoying it I know you love that cover and I'm glad that it is in the hands of a Bush collector I just got back in from a busy week out of town. Huge kudos to RAHIGH, a truly wonderful collector and up and coming seller on eBay. Being in Charlotte earlier this week, I was able to take a short trip to Matthews, NC about a half hour away and pick them up and meet a fellow forumite. This is what it is all about. Rick is a wonderful person, with a wonderful family and home and I thank him for inviting me over to share his enthusiasm for his collection. He's got some sweet sweet DCs that'll make most guys on here drool! I was also impressed by silver age Marvels he picked up off the stands and still had to this day! Great service and a wonderful experience for me! Anytime you need anyting, do not hesitate to ask. I would highly recommend anyone here to bid on his ebay auctions or buy from him with full confidence in service and quality of merchandise. I have more kudos to write after I open my ton of packages, minutekev's seems to be in here somewhere...
  16. Kudos to Lighthouse for getting me his Spidey trades in time for Sunday's show! Kudos to ebay id brettstuff (sorry forgot your forum ID ) for a truly NM- accurately graded ASM 109!!! It is so nice...made me smile in comparison to the overgraded sh.it I received at the same time Kudos to 4gemworks/glenn malloy for hooking me up with the Kid Colt 206 I needed and making possible a 5 book trade deal that resulted in my needing 4 more 30 centers to complete as well as 4 sweet upgrades and also 5 upgrades for him and an upgrade to be named at a later date
  17. Latest round of kudos... Ubiquiti - who can't get enough of my wife's Better Homes and Gardens issue with the Bushs (G.W. and Laura) on the cover... excellent buyer and easy to work with on deals for books; I trust him with my books even before he pays shiverbones - sent me a SWEET 30 cent Champions 6 variant; I've experienced deals from both sides of the table and am very happy with this forumite deathlok - thanks again for another wonderful deal and best of luck in your Top Census quest for Giant Size MArvel Bronze age issues... Two heavyweights that I never get to deal with: clobberintime - actually helped him finish(?) his high grade slabbed early Defenders run - even added on to his deal with more from the Marketplace threads; looking to help him branch out into Modern (off the shelf comics). Rob, once you get hooked, there is no rehab... and the business savvy forum favorite - the g-man - George is always prompt and expressive in comms about what he is looking for. A true professional...now I'm just wondering if I sold this to you too low
  18. Latest kudos (back in the permanent thread ) DiscountComics - Peter bought a Batman Hush set from me and was very patient while I ironed out some supply problems. I look forward to buying from you in the future as well! ElBrujo - bought my aSM 300 CGC 9.8 white pages for a song... j/k guys... Batman 619 - all covers set; Ken's all class always... Speedjunkies - came through on his end for the Slabbed MTU 61 variant Scottish pedigree and got a free MTU 30 center as well Smokinghawk - pleasant deal all around for two ASM 50's - even took the one with tape on front! I will be selling more ASM's your way if none of these guys beat me to it. Great repeat buyer who is easy to deal with and know what to look for before paying good prices. You have to let me know if those USM 1's you got from me ever get CGC slabbed, now that we know what CGG thinks of them Spider9698 - who says the good Harvard Doctor only collects HG Spideys? Bought a Batman Hush set from me...reading copies 608 - 619...thanks for the surprising PM and non ASM pickup Ubiquiti - a set of Alpha Flight 1-10 and about 7 other Alpha Flights and the piece de resistance - my wife's Ladies Home Journal from last month with the cover of Todd's favorite people, George and Laura Bush in a nice domestic setting I hope you frame that cover and place it above your bed on the ceiling so it's the first thing you wake up to every morning. Todd has bought a few other comics from me in the past and is always patient as well. I count him among my great repeat buyers. Drbanner - Hulk 202 30 cent variant - utmost patience as a buyer as this took me a bit to get out to him...thanks again doc! Mike's last purchase from me was an ungraded Smurfs 1-3 set (for his daughter or so he said?), which he was very pleased with. Great guy and my pleasure to deal with. fortysevenUK - It finally happened. I was trying to hook Angelo up with some BOTP comics and I was always a day late it seemed...He had sources that coudl take care of him better. Finally hooked him up with LOEG vol 2 1- 6 and Fables 1-17? and missing issue 15...or something like that...problems with a package too heavy for Global priority - finally had to split it up into two $9 Global Prrioity flat rate envelopes and Angelo was very patient and understanding. Thank you for adding to my great deals overseas in the UK. I look forward to doing more business but I understand the cost of shipping is prohibitive so we'll wait on another big score if need be Realitytrip - Keith has been on fire with the Marvel price variants on and off ebay. I've grown to trust Keith in that I have shipped books to him before his payment arrived via personal check. The man's word is good. I've set aside "pending" deals for him and communication thru PMs and emails, there is never any doubt as to whether he will come through or not. Thanks for all the support and repeat business. Buena_vista - another Marvel Price variant buddy! I'll be shipping your TOD as soon as it arrives I haven't received it yet from Texas...but you know you'll get it. I received your payment yesterday. Here's to helping Jeremy complete his variant set as well! We have been openly working on deals and complex trades with our combined networks..it's gotten outta hand but in the end, Jeremy is an honest person to deal with. His word is bond. Thanks again for the latest in many of variant escapades...I know there'll be more down the road. brian1227 - came thru on a USM 1/2 and 10 pick up from me! Fellow New Yorker and great communications. I look forward to more deals down the road ninanina - finally completed our Hulk transaction! Tho I had sent him an inferior quality Hulk 33 vol2, (100 page monster) - he was very understanding and kept the book anyway, glad to have a copy in his collection. Very patient and fair, I appreciate Herb letting that Hulk 33 slide...I owe you one, buddy! Thanks again! Great Canadian buyer! bronty - another Canuckian with class. Dan picked up my FF 1 GRR CGC 9.2 and the case even had a crack in it! Unfortunately, he didn't get Stan the Man's sig on it as planned, but our transaction went along real smooth and he was very understanding about the trials of shipping from the US to Canada. Thanks again Dan and glad to finally deal with you. mitol - more Canadians - what did you expect on this board? - always great to deal with, on or off ebay...bought a Street Fighter # 0 set (DF and San Diego Con) from me - fast transaction - very easy...this series is pretty good so far...it's up to # 2 and if you are into neat variant covers, this series has plenty...I think I like this best out of the new video game comics genre that has recently come out...DragonSlayer has been bleh...but what do you expect from Crossgen...never in to Megaman anyway...Street Fighter just plain Rocks! retro_slippy - UK buyer of BOTP - I thought he was an Angelo shill but this guy is for real he even sent $10 extra, which I retruned of course Thanks for your patience and understanding in payment of paypal. jagull - picked up some Ultimate books from me - very fast deal and is more than welcome deal with me anytime! jordanabigail - a popular seller who grade consistently, I was just glad I could sell him some reading material, very patient and prompt payer...I look forward to our next deal together, whether buying or selling stynxno - picked up some Ultimate books from me as well - from Upstate New York close to where I went to school...good guy, glad to have dealt with you... lantern and hobbes - never knew we had brothers (fraternal, not racial )on this forum other than the Shuleys - Ultimate books - a whole slew of them! Thanks again...are you still ramrod221 on ebay aces - I won his Tales to Astonish 3 issue set, without which I would never have learned the fine art of Yubiwaza. Chris is a fine poster and great seller to deal with. Accurate grading on those babies Pending deals: Kermit for his ultimate patience... Smokinghawk...more ASM offers on the way Just kudos to the Bad Boy of Belgian Bondage, Chromium and the GASFACE to my short-shorted, production crease promoting, ambiguously effeminate Canuckian greggy
  19. Michael GRay (musicmeta) came thru in a big way. His CGC 9.2 X-Men at the State Fair of Texas, rejected by Oldguy, has come my way! actually Arrived on Sturday but I just opened package now. For those of you curious, those "splotches" really are scanner augmented transparency effects. THere seems to be an ad on the inside that "bleeds thru" due to the microchamber paper. Even under a 100 watt light, I don't see the "orange" that was evident inthe auction scan. Glad I have it! Thanks for the book and awesome package - very safe and fast shipment. Mike used a lot of Scotch tape Joseph Fiore (comicwiz) came thru in a big way with his Star Wars 1 variant that I won off the Paradise Auctions site. Class act all the way. He went against his need to keep this collectible to post this for me, knowing I'm psycho for these things. Thanks mainly for letting go and the courteous emails. Very knowledgeable seller and all about customer service. Now to see if the staple holes on the variant cover you sent me line up with my copy of Star Wars 1 CGC 9.6 I have a deal Bonds25 for his TPBs that I'm sure I'll be flipping unread for 2x what he sold them to me, after I read them of course Matt sent the books out today and I haven't even paid him yet. I sent out the personal check today, Matt so don't worry. Retro_slippy has paid for some of those BOTPs I listed - books on their way! Ninanina has caved to my superior selling tactics (whining ) and bought some 3 vol3 pre Bruce Jones Hulks from me... Eventually I may end up dealing with all the marketplace posters as I love looking at the offers and "shilling" the auctions for stuff I like. Keep 'em coming!
  20. So...when are you gonna flip them? It's all up to the KING SH-AD-ROCK! Mebbe tonite?
