  1. What were the grades on those two KC #205s and the #220? "KID COLT OUTLAW #205 - 30 cent variant cover: $281.65 Guides for $18 in NM" This one is mine from 2003; it has since been slabbed and still at the top of the census : CGC 6.5; it looked better but
  2. JOhn, I'm guessin that one is a Robin II Canadian Price variant? I think I have the $1.00 ones but not the Canadian $1.50; it is probably similar to the 60/75 cent American-Canadian price covers in the '80s; I'm thinking that that was about right for the exchange rate at the time of the Robin II's but maybe our Canadian friends or other knowledgeable dealers can correct me Post a scan too if you like. Another consideration: Maybe one is a reprint? I forget but didn't the Robin II's come with a hologram card or foil sticker?
  3. Paging Rob_react: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33812&item=2250319512&rd=1 I'm "breakin' the law, breakin' the law" ....
  4. Haven't seen much demand on this. I know Donut may still have a few of these; I have my copy somewhere in my longboxes...got is for $4 or $5 at Tysons...
  5. Hardcore members of price variant club all use autosnipe programs I know that part, but how many times have you had someone email you a week after the fact when you'd won a "hidden" variant? "Hey, nice catch" or "How much?' I set up a secondary buying ID so that I wouldn't have to field questions on good BINs or hidden lots. I see guys win hidden variants all the time but I try not to "bother" them unless I really know them. I always make higher than fair market value if I really need the books; otherwise I try not to harrass. Secondary buying IDs work well for the reason stated; however, it can backfire if for example let's say I see a rob_react bid on a variant that I want but not really need, I may leave it alone, but if it is a bidder who I have no relationship with, then I bid with impunity and bring on the pain

  7. Huge kudos to rob_react, who easily accommodated my special request for a custom item on his excellent webstore ! He also made sure I could get some 30 cent logo items for my little Logan that fit
  8. Kudos to Jimm94 who had his Modern Bonanza thread, selling hot issues for $2 each (less with all the discounts)! I picked up gorgeous copies of Batman/Superman 1-9 (both variant copies of #1), Red Son 1-3, and Supreme Power 1-7 with the 1 being the Special edition. Very courteous and prompt with the Private Messages. Here is a small tip from a long time ebayer/shipper. No amount of scotch tape can hold together a thick stack of comics. For thick stacks I recommend a bag around them to minimize shifting within the "sandwich" Fortunately the newspaper buffered as it should and minimized any "drop" damage. I also appreciate the insurance, tracking and priority mail; however, I''m a patient guy and really am in no rush to get books I buy when I'm dealing with forumites and ebayers I know. I would have been happy to go with media mail/bound printed matter rate, one boxed and secured safely with delivery confirmation. No need to insure, IMO when packed safely. This deal however gets a big a+ Thanks again!
  9. what was the grade on that Victoria Secrets mag? PQ = Cream to sticky pages? Feel free to order something nice for yourself
  10. nice easter eggs! those are sweet...may have to look into getting some of these! I used to stick my silly putty on Penthouse and Playboy pictorials...
  11. Safe delivery??? Safe delivery??? You could have run over that box with your car without damaging those books... And kudos right back at you, for being willing to buy stuff you didn't really want, at a price you didn't even choose... B.astard of a 'House Quick to lick a thigh, Never lets a stripper chick go pass him by! Fleecer of the newbs, Stubborn reprobate, Sniffing Greggy's short shorts while he masterb8s. Nothing like a little Les Mis in the morning... I'll be working on some classic ebay feedbacks for you... oh yes
  12. Kudos to the 'House for the safe delivery of 5 slabbed price variants! btw, you overpaid in postage...should have went media..
  13. What about that series of 1940s giveaway magazines called "Joan And Ginger's Magazine" that you were begging for me to trade you for my CGC 10.0 LOSH 300, not on census yet? quit holding out on Ian and bend over backwards to aid the man in his quest, foolio..
  14. Boy oh boy did you pick the wrong book to bet on. If I was desperate I'd have already bought the one that was on e-bay for $895. Now WOULDN'T I ?? Maybe you are just saying this to throw me off and to keep me from executing my dastardly plan? A pox on you and your DC's
  15. assuming one has the necessary equipment to carry out this tall order...
  16. acc to Ian however, he is all about instant gratification and would rather go for the known quantity than wait patiently for another more practical solution. I would have no regrets as any gambling man would bet on Ian caving in...
  17. I already phoned in an offer of $500 but also the potential to do lots of future business with them, therefore committing to a long and mutually beneficial business relationship I guess this is what gay marriage must be all about And if I actually did, who can blame me knowing there is an obsessive DC collector paying $1000 for giveaways, I'd hold this until it's in your last 5 and then flip it to you for $5K or more when you are positively suicidal if you don't complete your quest
  18. I'm surprised that with your quest you are not better equipped when it comes to negotiation tactics aside from strongarming. I am surprised even more that the other posters on here, both for and against you, still see the obvious tactic of letting the auction end with reserve not met and then working something out with the seller instead of paying $1000/$750 for the book like a rabid fanboy. Yes I applaud the seller for realizing that they had set the reserve too high (which was their prerogative entirely) and they gave you 25% discount. Although as a small time dealer, I'd probably do the same when faced with being bashed with no justification on two influential comics forums by DC's most unabashed and prominent collector. all you had to do was post in the ebay comics board and you would have set your own Levinian wheels in motion against this dealer for "extortion". This is getting to be a repetitive pattern with you. I wish you luck in a less eventful acquisition of "#20 to go" without adding another to the circle of extortionist dealers out to stop Levine and his Quixotian quest...
  19. wait it out Ian and when no one bids at that insane price, then work it out privately on the side. With your tons of DC rare duplicates, I'm sure even your brusqueness would have not prevented you from acquiring a $22 TPB it's not like there was a gun to your head telling you buy that specific copy or you'd die... I'm discussing here too
  20. Don't like the price, don't bid It doesn't get any easier than that... Some of us with a patient temperament would just wait until nobody won it at that price and then work it out with the seller using the fact of the no-sale as leverage for asking for a lower price. The seller is under no obligation to give you the book at your 'estimated fair market value' price all that matters is what the seller can get away with in pricing and obsessive buyers like you with more wallet than sense just affirm the seller's worldview of the comic market and his skewed exorbitant pricing. NExt time someone finds this $22 TPB will be expecting to sell it for close to what you bought it for, hurting the next DC collector... think about that instead of focusing on your own sense of "injustice" - I laugh at the context you use the word in... same old Ian... congrats on knocking your list down by 1. Instead of finding and revelling in the positive, you once again take that experience and focus on the negative and come out and bash the seller. PLease make sure you share this misery with your pals on the comicspriceguide board as I'm sure they'd love to hear your rants on one of their own firsthand.
  21. No I should have put "towards completing" - present participle gerundive
  22. Kudos to lighthouse for risking his life and business to go against the "wheels in motion", set by the Price Variant Mafia, and help me upgrade and complete my CGC 30 cent variant collection without extorting the highest price he could get. Also 'House sent me some TPBs from his truck sale and I haven't paid for them yet...nor will I ever, sucka! J/K, 'House And for his timely shipping of my cousin's hard to find Xmas present (Danger Girl Oversized hard cover collection in sleeve with new artwork!) at the end of January 2004! And for re directing a high grade CGC thor to clobberintime that I mistakenly sent his way! 'House you the man! Goodwill pays back...in spades!
