  1. Not feeling it, sorry man. Much more of a fan of the low waist-lines on girls jeans/skirts. And low necklines as well.
  2. Likely around this time next year or maybe summer? Probably going to get to filming it around the same time Luke Cage is getting into production, since that's already on the filming schedule & the already has a start-date & a sometime-in-the-2nd-quarter 2016 release date. They'll also want to stagger the release of DD S2 between Luke Cage series & the other 2016 Iron Fist series.
  3. I've actually seen it a lot recently. My girlfriend is 23, so I see a lot of the stuff she & her friends wear/like and I roll my eyes thinking of how awful it was when it was the "style" the first time around & I was like 12. And now I feel like a dirty old man. Great.
  4. Wait a second. That's pretty metal. Metal is timeless & not intrinsically tied to the 80's. I don't consider that an 80's style anymore than I would consider or tie punk to a late-70's style. Forget you and your lack of appealing 80's looks.
  5. Yeah, I'm thinking we've got entirely different tastes & are just going to keep disagreeing. I don't dress like it's any era. Most eras have some redeeming things that still look as good today as they did then & some of those I'll bite from when it compliments something else. But the 80's is the one era that I can't find anything that has a style that aged even slightly well or that I could find appealing at all (on me or anyone else). And I won't even get into overall style/design of the era. Cars, paint colors, architecture, design... everything. That doesn't mean they can't be kinda cool either in spite or because of their ugliness, but that doesn't make the overall aesthetic of the 80's any less ugly.
  6. I have a feeling they'll draw a lot of inspiration from the Brubaker/Fraction "Immortal Iron Fist" series for at least the 1st season. Very mythical Kung-Fu & exploration of the Iron Fist legacy thing.
  7. High waisted jeans and shorts on women. They are the rage again, 25 years later. And they look as hideous today as they did then. Plus, high-waisted pants aren't 80's fashion. They're hold-overs from 60's & 70's fashions.
  8. Pittsburgh is just the home-base for me. It's just the place I'm in the most out of everywhere I spend my time (I travel far too much) but even that's only maybe 30% of the time? No, Pittsburgh had zero entries on my worldwide "do tights look good?" census. LA did have 1. Taiwan oddly enough had the other. The balance was extrapolated from population data & science. As I said... 3-4, allowing for the possibility of identical twins.
  9. Following Asa Akira on twitter was one of the best decisions I've ever made. She is awesome. Stop & go do that now. You won't regret it.
  10. AoS is only on it's 2nd season. It will likely be renewed for a 3rd season (and Marvel is planning both a spin-off & at least 1 Agent Carter-like mid-season mini-event-series-thing. Unknown if it will be a 2nd season of Agent Carter tho)
  11. I like the Ant-Man one under a magnifying glass! What in the sweet hopping hell is that? At least do books that make some sense. Or are totally off the wall. ASM variant of GirlThor? Blah. ASM 300 variant of Archie? I can get behind this type of insanity.
  12. I particularly enjoyed the quieter moments, even if there was a lot of talking at moments you wouldn't expect. The amount of non-action kinda made the action a lot more pronounced & brutal when it happened.
  13. 1st, Hits? Like what? A whole lot of acid washed denim & mullets & popped collars on pastel polo shirts. Ugh. Tom Selleck Mustaches. I'm trying to find something redeeming about 80's fashion & I'm really drawing a blank. If you've got something, please enlighten me because even as someone that grew up in the 80's & still can't find anything to look back on fondly. It was like a neon & pastel crayon box threw up on poorly designed things everywhere. 2nd, I think my taste is awesome.
  14. 1st, some retro stuff is good, 80's retro is junk. It was hideous in the 80's & hideous now. The only thing they're missing are randomly tied ribbons, those ridiculous vented sunglasses that somehow became a thing again a few years ago, and leg warmers as a fashion statement. 2nd. I'll amend my initial statement. There are approximately 3 women on earth that look good in tights. There may be 4. Or 2. I've only surveyed 90% of the human race on this issue. I extrapolated from the 2 that I found & didn't factor in a potential set of identical twins.
  15. no they aren't but they sure are better Yes, but only on the about 3 women in the world that that they look good on.
  16. It can't be right. Namor is wearing a shirt. Namor doesn't wear shirts.
  17. The sad thing is that they didn't even need to make costumes or hit up vintage stores. They just went to the regular mall & bought the 80's retro junk that passes for fashion today. TIGHTS AREN'T PANTS! Sorry... I have a pet peeve about that.
  18. I dig the display for the OA as opposed to the traditional framing/display. Doing it like a book is a pretty killer idea.
  19. Some day, someone in Hollywood will realize that stupid trendy haircuts on male characters (at least those characters that aren't slaves to teen-pop-culture as part of their personality) are a bad thing that dates their movies horribly. Unless he's going all Flock of Seagulls because it's set in the 80's, in which case it's a lame characterization of Nightcrawler on par with the Sony Exec that wanted Spidey to be a tuff-muddin, EDM listening, snapchat-ing pop culture cliché. But at least would make sense.
  20. Every time I look at the GPA or recent sale prices for this book, I'm happier with my purchase price.
  21. I expect that Marvel is going with a 70's-film-genres theme for the Netflix series. DD was the crime drama, AKAJJ will be the hardboiled detective story, Luke Cage will be an urban-modernized-blaxploitation series & Iron Fist will be the maybe-slightly-mystical kung fu story.
  22. Over a few years, yeah. But that's if I don't change it up. The room has only 2 windows & when I'm not trying to take a picture, the curtains are pulled shut & the door is closed & the light is off. I'm in there for maybe 20-30 minutes a week at most. The other 167.5 hours per week it's in total darkness. It's no more light exposure in a year than wall books would get at a convention in 1 weekend.
  23. Thanks, man. Once the rest of the room is finally done, I'll post new pictures again, but it's a slow process with finishing the details & adding the last few things to it.
  24. Thanks. The Wasp is my roomie's piece actually. The slabs are mine, and the Nextwave piece is mine. It's our nerd room/guest room.
