  1. I agree. I would have to say TWD has brought in more new comic book readers and brought back more old time comic book readers, then any of the big blockbuster superhero movies ever did. Proof? Even though Iron Man and the Avengers movies did over 2 billion at the box office their comic books can`t even sell 35,000 copies a month, while the Walking Dead has sold over 100,000 copies and dominated the graphic novels chart. It's a little too soon to declare that there is no speculative bubble surrounding The Walking Dead. As stated many, many times the true test of this book will come a few years after the television show is cancelled. I think that TWD has done a great job going mainstream - the TV show has done its part by introducing the title to the masses. The key here is Kirkman - the comic book is thriving because it is consistently well written. I'm hooked on TWD mostly because of the comics not the TV show. I could care less on what happens on the show as it just kinda follows the comic book.
  2. Great buyer, pays fast, and very trustworthy. Thanks very much again Mike!!!
  3. They're making the movie PG 13 right? This means dp will be more mainstream and the f-ing sky is the limit!!!
  4. I like it. One suggestion: I think it would be cool to have pictures of the CGC employees we have come to know as an album in the "Photo" section (for those who don't mind or aren't too shy). Brittany, post your pic on FB so we can see what you look like Fixed
  5. This book is not pressed and could use some cleaning at the b/c - still able to get a decent grade.
  6. When eBay stops taking 12-14% from their customer's sales, then we may start seeing more upfront sellers. I find more quality sellers here on this forum than eBay. For some reason, people here are more accountable.
  7. (thumbs u Thanks guys. I bought my first Cap 100 NM back in the early 70's (73-74) for about $12 which was a ton of money for me back then. Cap 100 was also one of the several hundred books lost (house fire in '87) that I have always wanted to get back in the grade that I once owned 40 years ago as a kid I always enjoy reading stories like this.
  8. Decided to buy my 1st graded book last November after 15yrs of my last comic purchase - went to cgc's site to check the cert number and stumbled across this forum. Next thing I know my half-full tote container of childhood comic collection exploded to 2 long and 2 short boxes full of books.
  9. *cough, cough* James J *cough, cough* Cool. I'm actually subscribed to his channel.
  10. Re: FF 67 and Thor 165 Packaging is exceptional. Thor has mothball stench fortunately blue808 stepped up and fixed the problem. Great customer focus. Thanks very much!
  11. Is this guy a boardie? I don't know anyone more hardcore than him.
  12. Holeeee... You have a heck of a LCS Greg!
  13. Found these babies at my local shops over the past week and a half... I didn't know that these guys are just sitting in long boxes waiting for me to pluck them out. All are at least VF condition and I did not even break the bank!!
  14. Nice looking high grade copies. Didn't know that vancouver has a decent source of key books.
  15. I'd hold on to that if I were you. Walking Dead took 7yrs before it turned to gold.
  16. Those look great in the top loaders. $5 isn't bad at all! Thanks... I'm thinking of putting them in current size mylites 2 with those acid absorbing paper inserts. Not sure where to get those locally. I heard poly bags are thing of the past and should only be used for short term?
  17. Walking Dead 3, 6, 19, and 27 All of these babies are at least a 9.6 corners are ridiculously sharp. Some with minor spine ticks. The back covers are solid as well. No color scuffs Glad to have Tony Moore sign issue 27. Sucks that he charged me $5.
  18. Good read... Dialogue is pretty good. Will pick up #3
  19. 1,148 (thumbs u Thanks! How do you know that? By the way, what would be a fair price for buying it? eBay prices don't look fair to me, but I could be wrong. Diamond Retailer Sketch is whack! Not worth a penny in the long term if you ask me. If I were you I'd focus on key issues. It will be worth your time and money to buy another copy of issue 19 or 2 than another variant cover. Possibly, but you need to factor in this may potentially become a key issue with the introduction of the new characters and then add a limited variant on top of that. The reason 19 is key is the introduction of a key character. I do believe the current prices are inflated and may slip off. The only reason I bought one from my LCS is that it was $50 and couldn't fathom spending ebay prices. I did consider flipping it, but the completion it in me is keeping it. I think 127 is a key issue. For $50 it's a steal. I'm afraid to say what I spent for mine but it was a lot less than what most are selling for on E-bay now. I see many of the sellers saying the print run was 500, but I have yet to see any kind of real source for the info. I guess it depends on the person making the purchase. It's great that you folks are making comic book collecting entertaining. I just don't see the value of variant covers. You can get the same comic (still 1st print) for half or fraction of the price. IMHO variant cover is a cheesy way to sell more of the same issue.
  20. Shilltastic That guy is a boardie with the same handle.
