  1. Great haul! I was dangerously close to picking up your Hellboy/Skeleton piece, that skeleton in the back ground is divine. I waffled between that and the one I did get (pretty similar in some ways).

He had a $200 page that had drawings of a bunch of insects on it that I was on the fence about, I actually left and grabbed something to eat and came back to the show around 3:00PM in hopes to buy it, but Mignola had already vanished!!

  2. Done!

Bird, did you (or anyone else for that matter) happen to see the page someone early in line bought? Not sure where you were, but I was probably 12 or 13 people in. I saw it from afar and it looked like possibly a Hellboy in Hell page that was mostly a village shot. I'm curious which one it was exactly and how much it went for. A shame I wasn't earlier cause it looked like something right up my alley that I was looking for...

  3. I do have some questions for people who have been there previous years. It’s my first encounter with Mignola (after waiting decades!) I really want to make sure I come home with some art from him, so hopefully you guys can help me out:

    1. How early should I get there? My train gets to Penn at 8:45. Is it acceptable to wait in front of the Gold Ballroom?
    2. Should I bring plastic hard cases/tubes to store any art that I buy or will there be some there readily available for purchase?
    3. Any suggestions for breakfast/lunch spots?

I’d take any other helpful tips anyone has to offer.

    Thanks so much guys!

I used their contact info to ask them to post a dealer list here so maybe they'll do so!

I have amassed a considerable warchest, to the point where I am thinking..."I cannot spend all this with Mike Mignola!" so I hope he has some good stuff with him.

I'm feeling the same way Bird!

  5. Man, I hope so! He's the main reason i'm making the trek out there with some extra cash I've been saving up. I really hope to get there early while the selection is still good. I've got my fingers crossed he'll bring some of the watercolors he's been posting on Instagram. They are drop dead gorgeous.

  6. Incredible stuff guys! Thank you everyone for posting. Definitely keep ‘em coming.

Can someone help shed some light on Mignola’s sketch prices? I know that he often attends cons with a pre drawn portfolio of sketches. It seems like his pencil Hellboy bust type sketches are about $300 (I’m assuming slightly less for non Hellboy related items across the board) and about $500 for the same bust style sketches with inks. Once we start moving towards full figures how much are we talking? Ditto for color pieces, (if that’s even a thing that happens)? Also, what size paper are we talking for these? How many pieces of art are typically for sale in his portfolio?

Any information that would help me prep, would be great.

    Thanks!!

  7. As someone who will be going for the first time, can anybody fill me in on what to expect? I'm assuming this is mostly a show with various art vendors? Is there more than one artist guest or will Mignola likely be the big draw (which is a huge get either way)?

  8. I’m only about 2.5 hours away  from NYC and have been trying to score some Mignola art for years, so this is a no brainer for me. I was wondering if there is a website or Facebook page so I can keep up to date on the event? Or is this the best place to check in? With a 6 month old adding her own brand of chaos to my life I want to make sure I’m keep up to date.

    Thanks!

Thanks for your message, and for pointing out this regression bug. It should still be possible to go directly to the item, I'll see to fix this as soon as possible!  (in fact it's already fixed - for tomorrow - for items that are on the first tab, it's much more complex if it's in tab 2 or more).

In the meantime, you can use the text filter (at the bottom of the filters box on the left) to find your artwork in the page opened when clicking on the link.

    Thanks so much!

  10. First of all I love this website. It's amazing, I have been using it daily for the last year. I love setting up alerts and just waiting for gold to appear. It's worked pretty flawlessly for me up until the revamp a week or two ago. Now, when I receive my daily e-mails chuck full of goodies and I click on the links for the item instead of going directly to the item, it brings me to the top of the daily New Art page. Is there any way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
